Seriously amazed by the sense this post makes.
A informative B treats customers like they should be treated C free premium to boot.
Totally not like PGI. Keep it up.

Thanks PGI!

The advance notice is greatly appreciated. The extra premium time is unexpectedly wonderful.

Fail.

Funny you should say that considering you obviously have no idea what I'm talking about. The "fail" is not on my part here.

EDIT Just so we are ALL clear here, I don't mind this token gesture at all. In and of itself it's a great thing to see PGI do, and also a step in the right direction.

HOWEVER.

After the idiocy of the Nov 5th patch where the option for "Fire Selected Weapon Group" was completely removed from the game in classic PGI we-didn't-think-this-through style, this kind of vaguely meaningful gesture is bulls*** because of how they're treating those for whom the game has been rendered unplayable.

Important note: The option was removed completely - when they said this can be changed they meant Mouse Button 1 (MB1), NOT Fire Selected Weapon Group (FSWG). SUPPOSEDLY this is - according to Pretty G*****n Incompetent (PGI) - because they wanted Fire Weapon Group One to be default for MB1.

Problem here is that this is incredibly idiotic considering there was no need to do anything more than leave FSWG in and just change the default. Not only did they f*** up by removing it but they also f***ed in WHY they removed it, too. Worst of all they lack the competence to have a roll-back system for their patches AND now say they have to go rebuild from scratch a feature that comes with the engine itself because they don't have a back-up of it either.

The incompetence and complete lack of proffesionalism here is truly astounding. There is no word yet as to whether this will be added back in tomorrow - PGI's wording was "Upcoming Patch", not "Hotfixed" or even "Next Patch" - so there is no telling how long they will force people to wait.

Yes, the removal of FSWG made the game unplayable for many. Many of these had never had a bad word for PGI until the 5th, and many of these have not only stopped playing but have also uninstalled MW:O with a clear statement of "Fool me once, shame on you - Fool me twice, shame on ME". Many who were not effected had friends who were, myself among these - and the guy who WAS effected is the ONLY reason I am still here. Both of us are now thinking in terms of moving on from MW:O after this latest bout of PGI incompetence, and we are far from alone.

So in the end, THAT is where I am coming from on this "inconvenience" because PGI "apologized" for the inconvenience - Paul said this himself - caused by the removal of FSWG, yet did nothing. Here, they make the patch a few hours longer and suddenly, HERE HAVE SOME SWAG.

Two groups of PGI customers, both inconvenienced. One group they don't give a f*** about, one they do. So here I am, calling bulls*** on this because this IS bulls***, pure and simple.

/THE MORE YOU KNOW...

Nope, you overplayed your cranky. The restructure is a good thing. It's a positive move, not on the level of removing FSWG.

Funny coming from you considering you went farther than I have yet to go on the FSWG subject. Hypocrisy est.

And no it isn't the same scale but the dissonance between the situations - you know as well as I do that we have two groups of players that PGI has stated they have inconvenienced. One group, they care about, the other, they don't.

EDIT Also as I explained above I have no problem with the restructure, whether it will be a good thing or not remains to be proven, since it's being done by people of dubious competence. I'd like it to be helpful, but considering the people doing it.... <shrug> well, we'll see.

Again, not cranky. Calling a spade a spade. Speaking of which, your ignorance is showing on several levels, and ignorance makes for better TV. Take your own advice.

Eh. I want to see him do a couple of "Get off my lawn!" before I'm convinced.

PGI: "Hey guys, we're going to have to increase the size of the patch as a one-time deal. We're sorry for the inconvenience so here's a day of premium time to help you earn a few extra c-bills. Again We apologize."

Most Players: "Hey, thanks! We appreciate the communication so that some of us on limited bandwidth can prepare and such. We also appreciate the nod in the form of free premium time!"

Entitled #1: "Pffft. Premium time? I should have gotten a free hero mech for increasing my patch download time a bit! You suck!"

Entitled #2: "Premium time? You shafted the community 6 months ago so you suck! Those players that haven't played or contributed to the community in over 3 months don't get {Scrap} for this??? Screw you PGI!"

One of these things is not like the other....

It still amazes me the sense of entitlement that runs rampant in this community. Thanks for the freemium time PGI. Not all of us are entitled douche noodles.

Doesn't matter what you give, people will always feel entitled to more.

This, totally. While people hypocritically claim I'm being cranky or what-not all I'm asking for is a little more equality, much like you say here: "Totally not like them", and I think I speak for many when I say that more "not like them" would be appreciated.
