Read you own posts about "Fire selected weapons group" being removed. You could supply rage and tears to yourself this way.

Notice how I kept it where it belonged? I know, focusing displeasure in one place is a foreign concept here.

LOL funny you should post that, I played 2 games of MWO then got bored last night, and then discovered Battle of nations on Youtube, spent the rest of the night watching videos of that rather then continuing to play MWO.

Man that looks like brutal fun.

hibernation is the word you're looking for, discontent on forums hasn't changed in style much regardless of the deadline misses and goalpost changes.

I have a stupid question - If the main problem with the glacial updating speed from PGI is that they are a small team, why don't they increase the team size?

Looking at the price of mechs, and the amount earnt from the Phoenix packages and such, it seems as though they really should be able to afford a few extra hands at this point.... no?

not a stupid question at all. an obvious one that should've been asked earlier and i'm sure it has been.

check the link at the bottom to go to the pgi site and you'll see they're trying to hire people specifically for UI and CW stuff.

you want UI.2 and CW NOA! then get to vancouver NOA!

At a certain point, you stop being sad about watching the things you love burn and just want the fire to burn itself out already.

OK well w/e dude. I havent backed SC and don't intend to. Sure I might play it at some point, but I love mechs.

PGIs incompetence is self evident, and this is not qq. Its truth.

This is what I always think about: I would pay real money to know what happened at some point, or simply to know how they were investing the 60 people they have working on MWO at certain times. Granted, plenty of those 60 people work on 'mech models or maps, and we know that they have never stopped producing stuff, and then there's people who work in marketing, community, website. But that should still leave... what... about 20 people working on UI 2.0 and Community Warfare? Features that we have been said they worked on for a year? Obviously they were not, so seriously... aside from a lot of work on netcode and hit registration (with questionable results), what have these 20+ people working on, and how, for a year?

Please, consider that I am not saying they are lazy and have not been working.
I am just really really really curious to know what have been the priorities, how slow the progress have been, what have been the biggest hurdles and how they have been faced and so on.

Yes, I am a curious person so I WOULD PAY to have had a "MWO: The Reality Show" and know what was really going on, especially in the days where we have been let to think that tweaking the heat value of a weapon was an immensely complicated task that required two patches or so.

Sorry if I sound snarky here and there. Again, I would LOVE to have an insider history of the past 12 months, to simply *UNDERSTAND* what slowed down the development so incredibly much.

Because from where we are sitting, no amount of "Command Chair - We have been working on this and that!" will ever explain what happened over 14 months and will never ease our minds about how bad this all looked.

If I had to guess: All of the REAL beta testing was going on behind closed doors, and what we got was more or less the finished product (which explains why it took FOREVER for badly needed changes to be made, even if we spotted them immediately).

Robots are a small niche, it's like saying that RPG fans should lose faith in kickstarter games after the failure of new Shadowrun.

Manwhile, Torment is going strong. So do the not-Megaman and Star Citizen, among others. It all depends who's making the game. If people with history of making good games come forward and say they want to make a new mech game, they'd probably get kickstarted into orbit.

Truth be told, this game did FANTASTIC on Founder sales. It's niche got some money, but really hasn't produced much in the last year. That is where the problem lies. Games like Star Citizen and others are taking note and going the other way, the more you buy in the more they are producing (and impressively if I might add).

Do I want this game to succeed? yes
Does it feel like Star Trek Online? yes, but maybe someone will buy it and 180 this thing into the domination it CAN BE

I was gonna moan about ST:O but for all its badness it manages to get a fair chunk of trek experience in. It annoyed me with non cannon ships ;) but if you can handle insanity and swearing there are interesting chats going on in the stations sometimes. If this game got as much mechwarrior in as ST:O gest trek in, this game would be in a much better place. Problem with ST:O is its pointlessness. How many times do you want to try and race round the galaxy? I hvnt logged in for a good long time tho, i have a "why not warp back" e mail saved but i dont miss it enough to fill that much HD space tbh.

Oh there is plenty, but you know how in shady regimes that are clearly screwing people over, dissidents seem to "disappear" and the regime tries to mute what they are saying as much as possible?
Yeah, that's pretty much what happened to the forums.

this thread of the "hate and or moan about PGI lacking and everyone else is gold by comparison" it's strangely still here for everyone's amusement.

This game has survived on new Mech content for too long. We are supposed to be getting another map, will it be tomorrow or will it be in December? Who knows, PGI has really withdrawn their communication with the fanbase about what their timelines are like because they know people are going to rip them a new butt hole if they set a date and fail to meet it. Sorry PGI but the reality is that you need to get your act together and get content out lest you lose your dedicated player base by the end of the year. If you don't offer something new by Christmas time, a lot of players I am sure will be gone. It's bad enough now, the only thing getting the hardcore players to keep playing is their interested in competition matches against other clans but right now a lot of those seasons are winding down, I doubt even the organizers want to get new tournaments organized if the interest is falling off.

And well, there won't be any new Mech content until at least February. The majority of the player base bought the Phoenix Project, and now they have nothing NEW to try out in the next few months because PGI is just rehashing old Mech's with hero variants and releasing the Phoenix Project Mech's. Sure, we get the Griffin and Wolverine in a month, but that's nothing special.

As a player, I want something new that isn't Mech's. I want new weapons and more combat modes first and foremost, those will more then likely keep my interest for a while longer as it would present new ways to build and play the game. But PGI doesn't want to put in new weapons despite the fact that there is a growing demand for something other then the cheese dual PPC + AC20 or Gauss Builds most Assault Mech's are running and the cheese death star Medium Laser builds Lights and Mediums are running, or the consistently lame LRM boats.

Oh, and the Star Citizen dog fighting module is slated to be out in December, isn't it sad that a game just starting pre-alpha testing is getting more hype then a game that is now "live" but has as many bugs as games still in beta and alpha testing? MWO fans the world over gave a collective "meh" when the game went live because we all know this game is incomplete. It has no polish, there are still massive environment issues, there is no balance still and the games players play with as much cheese as the mindless dregs who play Call of Duty. Take a lesson from Chris Roberts and do what you have promised and get the content out. I have no intention of spending money until we see UI 2.0 and Community Warfare in full swing, how come with a year to develop it, the stuff isn't done?
