Heres a suggestion to improve this game. I use to play a game called Dark Ages of Camelot. One of the great things about that game.... other then the fact it had real community warfare... was the fact it kept track of so many different stats, for each player, guilds, etc... and also made those stats viewable by anyone.....

Of course there will always be QQ, and developers will always feel pressure to nerf or buff certain classes/mechs based on how much people cry and complain.... the grass is always greener on the other side, and not only that, people generally like to cry and whine about other classes/mechs they dont pilot themselves, hoping that they will do better when others get nerfed... oh yea and no one likes to admit they suck, .... no that cant be, it has to be because other classes/mechs are OP or thier mech is broken.... its not me,..... same old same old

When any player can actually look at the numbers, look at the global ratios, etc... it makes the whole process of "fixing" classes more fair.... honest.... ( only prob is its not carebear/QQ friendly, and makes its harder for bad players to be both dillusional to themselves and also convince others they a good when thier not....)

example,

Billy QQs on the forums about how broken his favorite class is, and how he gets killed so often, and his dps is nothing compared to X, Y, or Z class.

Response, what about Fred and Sally, they play your class and look at their numbers,... look at the global numbers, percentages, ratios for your class based on others.... you just suck Billy,.....

Do i think this game will ever have viewable stats, both personal and global?... No. All the QQers/carebears would come out the woodwork like roaches,... or end up leaving because now they cant QQ without getting called out, people can look at their stats and know they just arent good players.... then next thing you know their easy button favorite mech is the one getting nerfed and not other way around..... PGI doesnt want to lose all those bad players... or money, wont happen

Thank you PGI for appeasing the spider QQers, most of them are poor pilots and need all the help they can get.... obviously ELO isnt working good enough.... maybe PGI can boost up individual pilots, their damage, and HPs based on how bad they suck?.... like a golf handicap.... this might make all the unskilled/poor pilots feel good about themselves without having to unnecessarily buff/nerf mechs....

only thing is, if your effected by a handicap, everyone can see it/know it.... which might not promote the delusional state of mind QQers need to feel good about themselves and continue playing/spending money....

anyway im done here.... QQ more, just know... all you whiney QQers, will always suck, and even if people cant see it..... YOU know it... deep down...

As a prefered light pilot, im afraid of other good pilots out there, no matter what mech thier in, they can really hurt me bad as a spider,.... even kill me in one shot with no previous damage while im moving at 150kph.... good forsight, aim,... and im toast... but fortunatly for me, the majority of players dont have the skill to do that.... thats not gonna change

for all you QQers... no amount of nerfs or buffs will make me fear you, ... so prepare to keep QQing like you always have and always will.... its not the game, its YOU.... only option....GO BUFF YOURSELF!

So you're not going to whine, then type an illiterate inane rant crying about the FACT that Spider Hitboxes weren't working correctly?

There's a whole lot of fluff in that, and hardly any meat.

I will agree that spiders are not overpowered, and in the hands of a good pilot, any light is a force to be reckoned with.

HOWEVER, hit registration in this game is somewhat borked at the moment, and something about the spider exemplifies the issue. So when people complain, they are complaining about when they do hit the spider, more often then not, it registers zero damage.

I decided to try it out when they put the champion spider as the trial light, and MULTIPLE times throughout the night I would take fire from heavy weapons that should have left me a smoldering wreck, and continue to run.

The most memorable of these is when I got caught out in the open on river city. A dual gauss cat came around a corner and unloaded both barrels into my chest as I was running strait at him. I laughed when my cockpit shook, paper doll flashed, and then took zero damage!

I never took the spider out again.

Spider its feels the same for me i didnt die faster in them
atlas feels a bit squashier but i may be wrong still some more testing needed
so pls post ur opinion

Why is there still an empty tab for it in the mech lab? Looks like a bug tbh.

Even if I couldn't see the flags on the wall most of the time, I could see them sometimes. And I could see the other 2 items. So that makes like 2.5 viewable items. Now I only see 2. Period. And as I said before my banners just became useless. I cannot put them to my hood since I already have stuff on that hood. You can't fit 2 into 1. Waste of MC... I guess I'll just burn those bloody flags.

Well, downloaded the patch. My machine thanks you apparently. I went from 30-31 fps on alpine to 38-40 fps without changing any setting on my machine. Thank you.

I agree "hit registration in this game is somewhat borked at the moment".... spiders, are hard to hit, they lack the firepower of other lights, but are more durable.... much of the spider QQ comes from this,.... the hardest to hit mech in the game, combined with hit registration being borked, and next thing you know....all the QQ gets focused on spiders...

Ive heard alot of spider stories.... and ive faced a ton of spiders in heavier mechs aswell as been on the receiving end as a spider.... and guess what, most gauss/AC20, not only hits me, but kills me instantly... if i stand still, ... i usually die or deserve to at least.... is there a button that turns on the secret blackhole on my spider?....nope.

The fact of the matter is, increasing/decreasing hitboxes is just a band-aid, Hit registration is the issue.... and from my exp, it effects all mechs equally, not just spiders... but because spiders are already the hardest mech to kill, they get all the QQ

But yea ive heard a ton of QQ spider stories, and honestly most of it is just laughable to me,.... at the same time, its happened to me, against every mech.... but i know from personal experience just how much it happens,.. and when i hear someone say " i shot a spider with 3 AC20 shots and it didnt do nothin, then he killed me!"..... i take it with a grain of salt to say the least...., most people dont want to admit when they got owned by a better pilot,....they dont want to admit it to themselves, or others...

Ive witnessed on TOO MANY occasions, after dueling a larger mech, or coring a bad pilot out from behind, ... in game QQ, about spiders being broken, or my shots werent doing damage.... and i was there, i saw the fight first hand... you were missing me with ur big shots.... and to do decent damage with your lasers, you have to keep the beam on me, ... most people only hit with 10% of their laser shots against spiders.... and this is due to aim,..., but think they are way more accurate then they actually are...... keeping lasers dead on a spider for the full duration is hard.... its suppose to be...

Spiders are hard to kill.... they are suppose to be hard to kill.....
I see a few people in here saying "spiders are more likely to be the last mech standing".....

uhh...yea, working as intended... nothing is broken about that..

Is anyone else encountering a painfully slow patch process? It has taken 30 minutes to download 65 megs (out of a 1.3 GB patch). I know it isn't my network connection because of other downloads that have occurred after the patch started.

Wow, thats a pretty terrible change then. ECM is it's own reward. It's currently the most powerful thing you can mount on a mech (equipement or module).

I wonder why they would feel the need to reward ECM users even further.?

ok spider is really all right when some one try to hit me i got hit hard on the torso but the legs ? well they stayed intact quiet well
locust loses its legs 3rd of a time than the spider now i would say it still need tuneing if the spider last 2 times more than a locust than its good to go

WOOT!! Maybe this patch will stop the spider vs the world Iv been seeing a lot of lately. I think everyone here know what Im talking about, that moment when 3/4 of your pugs try to focus on a spider whos brawling with fricken everyone and everything while lrms rain from the sky.
