ive heard there are legal problems with it because it has been classified as tam-tam-tam: "THE UNSEEN"
but why cant PGI reintroduce it as: "THE RESEEN" ?
oh man i used to love this mech so much! time-line-wise its viable. it has maaaany variants to pick from and plus.. everybody loves ballistics mechs, just look how popular the jagermech is.. its in every match youll go into...
any supporters to this?
yes, i know there is already a thread about this, but it was old, from last year. and i want to bring awareness to this mech to the new and changing player base. so you can report this thread if you see it fit and we'll let the moderators decide on it. whatever the outcome, so be it.

The only downside is the cockpit of a Jeager looks silly as a row of windows in the chest, but other than that the Jeagermech is an evil twin for the Rifleman, and the Firebrand hero has the exact same weapon hardpoint layout for a Rifleman.

The "lawsuit" was Harmony Gold stepping up to Playmates for ganking the Macross Destroids for use in their Exosquad franchise. HG had an in perpetuity license and they weren't about to let someone step on it. FASA (the then owners of Battletech) decided the right thing to do was not risk a lawsuit, they couldn't afford it, so they pulled all of the art the were using that was not done in-house (all of the art they licensed from Macross, Crusher Joe, Dougram, and the work that Victor Musical did for a handful of mechs in TRO 3055).
The Jager was in the original TRO 3025, just a few pages after the Rifleman. It was never meant to replace it, at least not at first. (Though in the fluff the Jager was meant to replace the Rifleman in its role as anti-aircraft support.)

It's not the same for some people. He wants a Rifleman and not a Firebrand Jager. Same thing for me with the Cat K2 and the Jager. I use a Cat K2 instead of a Jager (even though a Jager does ballistics better) because I like the Catapult and don't like the Jager. We play what mechs we like and we want what mechs we like, nothing wrong with that *shrug*.

FASA never had the rights to use the unseen mechs, it was Weisman who had the ok to use the likenesses. Then one day the Board of Directors at FASA pulled a Gary Gygax on Weisman (Voted him out and got him dismissed) Unfortunately for FASA they didn't realize that once WEISMAN left they no longer had any rights to use those likenesses. SOMEONE told HG of this and it went to court. FASA lost the battle and went bankrupt as a result.

saddly HG are ***** who won't negotiate anything about anybody else using anything even remotely related to IP that japanese courts have proven they shouldn't have had acquired anyways.
such is life in the inner sphere

many say Mechwarrior is dying because of PGI/IGP... some consider microsoft to screw over the franchise...
but this is when BT and MW actually died and has been a bit of a money making zombie franchise ever since
too small and troubled
which is why no big studios have built it up to it's proper potential ever, {PGI is small new foundling}

This is actually the first time I've heard this particular tale. Have a source handy?

Wich matters in a game with full customisation how?
Or are you reffering to aestheatics? Because in that case it boils down to preference and what you dont like i might like and vice versa. so not really an argument at all.
