Here is the solution for you. Buy an airstrike, goes about 75-100 meters forward, point it at the ledge in front of them and watch your cursor flash. They are in big slow mechs, 2 or 3 of those and they are toast. 40 damage per shell, 10 shells, does good amount of damage and will make them scramble. If everyone on your team uses one then the pop tarts have no choice but to move cause they can't see the smoke and get chewed up

;) Having a Team have to spend nearly 500K CB's to offset some JJ mech is not a very balanced nor practical solution. Sorry. Please try again.

500k cb? u mean 40k, you don't need the whole team to have one nor are you paying there cbills for it. Most people were running seismic before, now just trade that module for an airstrike or artillery. Most people have an abundance of cbills with nothing to do with it. Its a cheap way to compensate for your inability to deal with poptarts.

Unlike snipers who never shoot from the same location twice poptarts always do. wait for the first shot, line it up and fire above the mech as soon as you see its head go up, almost guaranteed hit every time or drop an airstrike and voila mech is now orange or cored.

First thing I do is shoot them with (X) weapon.
Second thing I do is shoot them with (X) weapon.
Third thing I do is shoot them continuously with (X) weapon. (if possible)
Fourth thing I do is shoot them continuously with (X) weapon, whilst tagging.
Fifth thing I do is shoot them... with (X) weapon. (if needed)
Sixth thing I do is pray for a helpful team.

Poptarts are clearly a problem for a segment of the MWO player base. Please don't be mean and derisive when they raise their concerns. It is a hard to counter tactic for mediocre or non-strategic players.

MWO is supposed to be a thinking person's game. As such, I have absolutely no sympathy for players who choose to complain rather than create -- or copy -- tactics to defeat other tactics. Such people don't even realize -- or just don't care -- that their calls to nerf something almost always have horrible side effects totally unrelated to whatever it is they are totally incapable of dealing with.

easy fix!

Nah! If it so happens that three badly damaged foes are accidentally hit and killed at the same time, the QQ will even be much louder. ;)

It is hard to flank a Highlander-deathsquad if your team full of incompetent bads curl up into balls and rock back and forth in a corner hitting their heads against the wall while mumbling to themselves. You can't exactly save the world in a BJ-1.

In that case, can we have an implementation of suicide bombers?

Put a charge timer on PPC's like how they are designed in the lore, keep the charge timer on the Gauss Rifle. Problem solved. Large Lasers require holding target to be effective.

With the amount of serial QQers of the "I got killed by XXX, please nerf." type in here, it's something we definitely might want to prepare for.

The fact that PGI had attempted to fix them twice isn't enough evidence that they are in fact overpowered? Also, I like balanced mech variants. That in of itself puts me at a disadvantage right off that bat, but one I can overcome. That is until a team shows up with 3 or 4 poptarts. Then balanced mechs just don't stand a chance.

Not sure if you mean "wow that is some nerve" or "finally someone brought this up."

Wait a second...we're defining 'overpowered' now by whether or not PGI has tried to fix it? What about the reverse?

PGI has repeatedly failed to 'fix stupid,' so that means stupid CAN'T be OP.

"Stupid" is obviously balanced.

Lol, yep! Imagine a 95 ton Executioner popping up and smacking you in one location with a UAC20 and 2 ERPPCs guided by a targeting computer. 70 damage...

...and generating only 2 more heat than the OPs 'overpowered' highlander sporting 2PPCs and a AC20...
