OP, thanks for inspiring me. When I built Jagers in smurfy's, I always wound up with the same builds on the DD and S, had a hard time coming up with something interesting until now.

Just curious, what is the purpose of BAP on that build? :P

Not knowing what to do with 1.5 tons at the time. ;)
Honestly, I could
- add 1MG + ammo
- drop BAP + 0.5 tons armor for more ammo or switch to MPL
- drop BAP, AMS + ammo for 4MG + ammo
- up the engine to a 305

BAP for that build was just filler unless I get an idea later, that happens sometimes when I build Mechs I do not own. I am not even sure about the BAP I put into 55 tonners here.

Honestly I'd do something more like this.

No need for CASE since you're running an XL engine. Losing a torso means you die anyways so you don't need to worry about ammo explosions.

Definitely keep AMS. Too many LRMs these days, and the AMS will keep you safe from at least those who are running 6xLRM5s. Also having AMS means you're helping protect your teammates and helping to create a bubble shield of AMS.

Throw on a couple MGs and a ton of ammo. Alternatively you could drop legs to 40 armor (no lower than that ever) to maybe mess around with some other things if you dropped down just slightly on the engine.

We actually use the AC/24 for comp matches (when JJs are restricted). Over the 4 uses of it they did between 341-380 damage (which really decent for a comp match). I have thrown 900s in pugs with it.

Love the build.

Interesting that it'd be a comp build, with a standard of course. I use XLs just cause I pug.

It really is tough coming up with new builds sometimes. Get stuck playing the same weapons/loadouts, thinking along the same lines for awhile.

It's taken me a year and I still play this game dumb.. for all the reasons mentioned.
Unfortunately as much as elo helps it also hinders players because it keeps them in a queue where XL/ammo in torso builds work.

Thus, basic no nonsense builds that would seem inadequate to a nOOb, because they aren't DPS monsters, can be played right.. but those same higher tier pilots can take xl-ammo-chest builds and play them right as well. A mech is truly only as good as its driver.

On the other hand it is fun to come up with crazy builds. I'd love to try out this silliness.

[Edit] Moved ammo around a a bit.

Seems like that would give better cockpit shake and burst damage, could be good.

Rarely go with 3 types of ammo but with accuracy the combined damage is there. Vertical trajectory between the uac5 and ac2 gets funky with medium distance and beyond but its all in good fun.

Ya I've tried 3 ballistics before and staying on target gets to be a challenge.

First thing you do is get rid of the CASE, since it does absolutely nothing in any mech with XL.

CASE does not protect the location it's mounted in. It only keeps the ammo explosion from moving inward to destroy other locations. In Inner Sphere mechs it ONLY protects the CT, and is ONLY useful with standard engines.
