I find the specs for this game hard to believe, First of all its a F2P and any company knows that having too high specs will lose them money from the community of gamers with low end computers. Aswell from what I can renember the graphics card to run it on minimum was something like radeon 5700, now i've seen videos on youtube of crysis 2 (same engine) running on a sapphire radeon 5450 my gfx card. Back to the F2P part, Thinking it as F2P game I would think the specs would be less then crysis 2 to reach out to low end gamers but its higher. MWO could lose a lot of potential customers from this. ASWELL I am sorry I cannot link the youtube videos and please check crysis 2 specs to see if i'm right as i'm writing this from ps vita and it limits what I can do.

I actually like the fact that there are F2P games that have high graphical capability. I am a big fan of the Cryengine and when I heard they made this game off of it it sold me. Technology is getting cheaper. Price for performance is getting cheaper. And with newer nVidea drivers they will automatically streamline your Game's graphics settings based off some database with setting streamlined for the graphics card you are using to give you the best visual detail at a good FPS rate. Not to sure about the AMD side of the GPUs but I am sure there will be similar alternatives with them. AMD is pretty good in price for performance. I would think some thing like $70 would get you in a game like this at or above the minimum specs.

build for high end now, game can run a LONG time before a serious performance upgrade for the game is needed i.e. MWO II.

Why does the poll have no option for exceeding recommended specs? or far exceeding?

Ok, I'm going to try and make this as respectful as possible.

Why did you even make this thread? The game runs on the CryTek 3 engine. I remember when Crysis came out and the original engine nearly destroyed peoples computers. The fact that the dev's have managed to make it run on a dual core processor (barely) is remarkable, and considering that this will be one of the first games I've seen to take advantage of quad core architecture it is clear they're building the game for the future, not the past.

The questions you've asked above have quite clearly already been asked by the dev's themselves, and they feel the benefits of going with a current graphics engine outweigh any negative side effects. PGI has said repeatedly they want to take F2P to the next level, and not treat it as a 2nd tier game, but something that can stand up next to the $60 boxes put out every couple of months, both in terms of quality, and in terms of graphics. The CryTek 3 engine lets them do that, and I for one am glad that the dev's have chosen to render this game with some of the best architecture on the market currently, so several years from now, it'll still look GREAT.

Sorry if my response seemed harsh, but I honestly couldn't fathom the need for this poll, or the rationale behind your questions.

Slight nit pick: It uses the CryTek 3 engine, not the Crysis 3 engine. ;)

The Radeon HD5450 is a low-end, extremely budget friendly discreet card not intended for gaming. I've got a HD5670 that has no problems running any game on the market right now, and that was a $60 card back when I got it. The 6670 is slightly better and runs $65 and up. Core 2 Duos have been around frelling forever, so CPU shouldn't be a problem, and any PC not running WinXP should have at least 4 gigs of ram.

Crysis 2 may use the same engine as MW:O, but don't be mistaken: They are separate games with separate performance benchmarks.

How are any gamers surprised by this? Games get progressively better graphics. That is how it goes. I am personally REALLY surprised how low they were able to make the minimum requirements. I have played Both Crysis 1 and 2 games (So all three crytek engines) and I am impressed. I do not have the best rig ever but I can run Crysis 2 on full graphics and it is awesome. Having a game that can actually use the quad cpu is awesome too.

In conclusion....Save a little money and upgrade.

To edit. I can run it at the recommended settings on one rig, and between the two on my second rig.

i bought my laptop over a year ago now, it has 2 dx 11 video cards (radeon hd 6900s) in crossfire, with 2 gigs of memory on each, a quad i7 @ 3.2 ghz stock, self overclocks itself to 3.6 ghz when it has call too. 12 gigs of ddr 3 ram @ 1333 mhz. ive installed a 120 gig ssd to kill load times, and have a terrabyte of bulk storage @ 7200 rpm. the min/rec of mwo is nothing, its a triffling pittance, itll run on a fancey calculator. if you have a computer for gaming on itll run this game.

I've got a new Sager NP9170 with an AMD 7970M. I know laptops aren't really for gaming on, but it should be able to run MWO with most of the details on full blast based on what I'm reading about its benchmarks.

The only thing that confuses me is the high amount of recommended RAM... 8GB seems a bit excessive for recommended... But that depends on what recommended specs actually means...

@LordDeathStrike
No real need brag, I already used up my Care-a-Lot for today...

Looks like it's time for a new MOBO and Processor. The old core2 Duo E6600,...I don't think she'll make the grade anymore. Everything else I have is fine.

under dx 11, easily. 11 isnt a slopfest for broken code like 9.
