........................................Kills............Deaths................Ratio

RAVEN RVN-3L................576............230.......................2.5

I have seen those 5.0-6.0+ KDR but never on a pug player.

This is easy to explain since when you are PUGing it could all depend on how good or bad your team played.

On premades I usually play on my assault mechs to contribute with that extra firepower, while when I PUG I mostly play my light mechs to increase my survivability.

This because if the rest of the team dies fairly fast I might be able to still take down 2-3 enemies (more if lucky) using my speed and mobility to my favor for as long as I can.

A little over 3600 drops now, KD sitting at 2.76. Mostly grouped, very little pugging. I do enjoy 12 mans though.

Oddly enough, the highest K/D is in a blackjack-1...sitting at 4.52 with 232 drops. Very similar to the Champion/trial build.

Well since the stats began recording

1.27krd for whatever its worth, 2301 kills/ 1808 deaths

3739 matches, 1971 wins/ 1768 losses

Highest on longterm mechs

5D spider, 136 matches, 113kills/47 deaths 2.40KDR (mostly mothballed when spider godmode came around)
Cent 9D 70 matches, 63k/38d 1.66KDR
Dragon 1N, 98 matches, 83k/53d 1.57KDR
AWS 9m, 233 matches, 216k/143d 1.51KRD

And my new first victor the 9S that I purchased about 24 hours ago, 25 matches, 25k/11d 2.27KDR and it is only 8/8 basic as im too poor to buy the other 2 currently. I see greatness in its future.

Dont really have any bad longterm mechs as if I cant find a build I usually give up and either mothball in the hopes of clantech one day or I just sell them for mechbays.

About 70% of recorded matches have been solo puggin, with the rest mostly 2-3mans and like 4 12man matches.

I stopped caring about my KDR right about when I created my account. And now, after 2,443 matches played (depending on how you calculate it. If you add wins+losses I'm at 2,433... Add total matches per map or total matches by game type, and it's 2,443), I can happily say I'm at a 0.81 KDR overall. Highest 'mech KDR is Atlas D (no, not D-DC) at 1.44. Lowest (not counting 'mechs with very low matches played, like the Dragon 5N I played 3 matches in...) is, spectacularly, the Jenner 7F... 70 matches played, 7 kills, 59 deaths. 0.12 KDR. :)

Shadowhawk 2D2 is looking promising, though... 33 matches, 1.27 KDR.

I also enjoy coming up with "troll" builds and doing reasonably well with them, so... That may impact my KDR a bit. (Current favorite is the Gausscada and AC/10+2MG Cicada...)

PUG only

Kills / Death 1,575 / 993
Wins / Losses 908 / 963
Kill / Death Ratio 1.59

Best Mech w/ 100+ matches;
Jager-DD as of 291 matches; W/L 1.13 KDR 2.9

Worst Mech w/ 50+ matches;
Stalker 3F as of 82 matches; W/L 1.00 KDR 1.06

I pay more attention to weapon stats, since W/L & KDR are affected by teamwork or lack thereof. Weapon stats are all on me.
Generally, my experience is the heavier the weapon, the more accurate.
Lasers are at 74% for MPL, going up to 87.25% for ERLL.
Ballistics are grouped closer together.
57.79% for MGs.
ACs and Gauss range from 60.25% to 62.16%
LBX breaks the curve at 76.47%
ERPPC 58.03%

All weapons saw 50+ matches

Win/Loss 5,023 / 4,297
Kills/Deaths 8,024 / 4,685
KDR: 1.71

The first time I realized you could check stats I was at like 0.8 kdr and until just recently, my kdr was still going up .01 a week mostly pugging. With as many games as I've played and kills I've secured, I'm still pretty suprised that it was increasing.

Highest Mech KDR is Cicada 3M with 520 kills and 200 deaths for a kdr of 2.6. I pretty much only run dual PPC or dual ERLL with 2 mediums on this mech. It's sick.
Lowest Mech KDR with 75+ games played is Trebuchet 7K with kdr of 0.8. I pretty much only played this mech to master the Trebuchet and I sold it after. Probably my first experience running a mech with an AC/20. I had fun, but apparently sucked a lot.

1.9 overall, after 3500 matches of mostly PUGing, and occasional 4-mans. If I thought there was any point in increasing it, I could just drive my Victors, D-DC or Battlemasters exclusively for a few days, as they all have a k/d of in excess of 3.

However, k/d is a meaningless stat in this game. It's actually measuring ''killing blows'' vs ''deaths''. There are matches where I've scored seven kills, just because I was the lucky last shot at up to seven damaged Mechs. And then I've had matches where I've done 800 damage and got zero kills, because some LRM boat somewhere is landing magic last missiles on targets I've almost wrecked.

And then we have some players and teams who enjoy ROFLstomping night after night by sync-dropping multiple lances against PUGs. That ''fish in a barrel'' behavior no doubt inflates their k/d way beyond what their individual skill would otherwise yield.

So, k/d is just an average of many different circumstances, and becomes effectively meaningless.

Finally, it's worth noting that deliberately attempting to increase k/d can turn some people into bad team players. I've observed:
  • people standing back from a battle, flicking through targets, and only taking shots at severely damaged ones;
  • people hanging back at their base until the match is half over, and only then taking their undamaged Mech into the battle to try to pick off survivors;
  • people running off and shutting down, or running out of bounds, once the tide of battle has turned against their team, rather than trying to keep killing enemies..
All these behaviors can cause a team to lose, just because an individual is on a misguided quest to enhance or protect their meaningless k/d stat.

I've noticed this kind of behavior and it's something I really don't like. Also, aren't some of these against the Uniform Code of Mechwarrior Justice: Non-Participation?

Overall KDR is 0.72 (and climbing)

my win loss is stuck at 0.92

My single most deadly mech Is my battlemaster BLR-1D at a 2.07 KDR

I used to really care about my kdr. But after I figured out ways to increase it I lost interest.

Increasing it is really less about your abilities and more about waiting for the right moment to finish off a mech.

Currently I run between 1.2-1.1 kdr and about the same win loss record. I only pug.

I have been working to bring kdr on certain chassis up to 1.0, simply as a personal challenge because I hate those chassis or builds, never could get them to work outright. When I do decide to work on it, I never put that personal challenge ahead of the actual game or the group I am running with.

On a normal basis I am not really concerned as KDR as pointed out means you got the killing blow on that mech, not a good inidicator that you worked that mech down and killed it. And some of my kills are lucky shots, others I work hard for.

These are current figures based on both solo pug and 4 man group drops:

Name Value
Kills / Death 3,429 / 2,675
C-Bills 10,977,212
Experience Points 3,834,561
Wins / Losses 2,248 / 2,098
Kill / Death Ratio 1.28
Accumulative C-Bills Per Match 131,132.93
Avg. XP Per Match 882.32

Kill / Death Ratio 2.55
Accumulative C-Bills Per Match 145,743.79
Avg. XP Per Match 985.01

But again, I don't think people should concern themselves with overall KDR. I think KDR in a given chassis is a reasonable stat (taken with a grain of salt), but overall is fairly moot imo.

Thanks for the thread, I've been also wondering about stats. Here's mine:

Kills / Death 3,587 / 2,488
C-Bills 91,655,397
Experience Points 2,806,922
Wins / Losses 2,239 / 1,953
Kill / Death Ratio 1.44
Accumulative C-Bills Per Match 102,071.14
Avg. XP Per Match 669.59

And yes, like it's been pointed out, K/D ratio and other stats are not really that reliable meters of any kind of performance but it's possible they give you an idea. Depends how much they've been "contaminated" by drops with friends, which boost your stats.

Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys something. I would first estimate that my K/D ratio is relatively representative of just PUG playing because I'd say 80-90 % of the matches I've been alone. But clearly, there is some contamination from roflstomps with friends. The thing is, when we were playing 8 vs. 8 matches, my K/D was quite constant around 1.25. When the 12 vs. 12 matches arrived, my K/D started to climb and stabilized around 1.4 and I also felt like this in practice i.e. the matches went better.

Did anyone else notice such an effect when the game shifted from 8-man to 12-man teams? I only play conquest and so far I've been attributing this effect to just better teamplay, which 12 gives. Kind of like, if you have 1 discon and a one still with their cadet bonus, the chances are that 25 % of your team (2/8) is effectively disabled compared to the < 20 %, which the same number is in 12-man. Does this make sense?

In the last 3 months I have been able to up my KDR from 0.65 to this:
Kills 3500 / Deaths 2421
KDR: 1.45

Mostly because I have finally settled on a certain set of Mechs I can have fun with and operate well.

Indeed, especially when it's a combination of all your mech's K/D ratio's. Assaults & heavy mech's have a completely different role to play than Lights so the K/D ratio becomes watered down and worthless.

Mech Played	Wins Losses Ratio Kills Deaths Ratio Damage Done
STALKER STK-5S 81 44 37 1.19 84 40 2.1 26,150
JENNER JR7-D	33 18 15 1.2 15 25 0.6 5,378

I'll play mostly Conquest with the Jenner and Assaults with the Stalker yet both have a similar Win Ratio but the Jenner's Kill ratio is hell of a lot lower and makes me wonder; did I actually have any weapons on it lol
