Wow, amazing we have almost the same numbers!
With 400 down it must have been long to reach 1.00. I was close to 300 and it tooks a while and now that I'm there, I can tell you that I will never got back below 1.00

(in fact it's when I first read about the high KDRs people had that I was inspired to not suck as much as I did back then - and I really did suck xD)
A nod to all the other PUG-only players out there
I renember how bad mine was when I started playing xD It was around 0.89 for a long long time. When I got better and started playing my K2 with a good build it got to about 1.3, now it's at 1.7.
My worst KDR is on the Cat A1 at 0.52 (113 matches) xD (interestingly the win rate is 1.1)
My best KDR is with my most recent heavily played mech, the Dragon Slayer at 3.24 (361 matches) and still going up (slowly though)

Those are my K/D, actually, so not quite as similar. My W/L was 1401/1366 at the moment of "going green." And, yeah. Long climb. My "pit" was around 600/1000 K/D, but ratio-wise, even that was an improvement. I started in Commandos with NO idea what I was doing. Had like 7 kills through 100 games. I've spent most of my time leveling mechs, too. Only very recently played much in my fully leveled mechs. That helps, as have some standout mechs (SHDs, Ilya!, Firebrand, CTF-4X, RVN-3L). The main thing that still eludes me is how to do anything in an assault mech. I'm currently abusing my K/D and W/L trying to get HGNs out of basic. I just suck with them so far.

My worst is: 0.52 on the COM-2D
And my best is: 3.60 on my RVN-4X. (But its one of the least used Ravens I got. Kills at 72, deaths at 20)
My general KDR is 1.1 across the board. Wish they counted Assists though! XD

I think you could be right, however it could be just a hate of losing. Well you can use it as an indicator of how well you perform.
Now I'm not saying a good KDR is a bragging right or something, it's just something you can use to gauge how much of your team's weight you can carry. For example, if you kill two mechs for each death, your team is lucky to have you since on average you will take down two mechs with your one mech.

My KDR currently is 3.22 at 4102 kills and 1277 deaths with a high water mark of 3.5 (at the 1k deaths mark) which has steadily gone down since. 2619 wins and 1182 losses and i mostly focus on winning matches instead of going for kills all the time (so yea, i tend to be one of the cap win activists back in the day). Sadly however, i am a bit of a stat *****. Nothing ****** me off more than dying without at least taking one guy to hell with me. I also have a coupla alt accounts to test out some concepts and see how "good" i can be without starting off with a 300 death handicap while learning the game and before i found the joy of abusing the meta. Essentially, how high can i inflate my KDR abusing the ever living {Scrap} out of the broken *** hit detection/ECM meta. I found out it was at its highest point 14.5:1 where i exclusively played ECM Ravens/Commandos (of course i had to trudge through the non ecm variants but i had alot of help getting the basics with my housemates). Currently that account sits at 373 kills 28 deaths 268 wins 68 losses. I played about 50% pug on that account since i oftentimes would rack up higher kill stats alone (although winning % is higher in a 4man), i also played vast majority conquest, so yea, thats how i was able to get into alot of small fights where i'd win 1v1 against light elements and have the speed to book and survive if my team gets beat down. I also wolfpacked with housemates alot so we'd bring 3-4 light mechs and thus MM would match up 3-4 light mechs against us, usually without voice, so we'd EASILY roll em since we pick em apart. Once enemy team is down their light screen it's an auto win, we can slash their backs in the main brawl, fake cap to split em apart, or cap em out if the main battle is lost. I will admit i did alot of hiding in pug fights when my team got face rolled. Another account i made an ECM atlas only run, that i would usually PUG boss in (i stopped playing in 4mans once i got the elites done). I was able to consistently keep that account in the 6:1 KDR range winning 75% of the time. I would drop in match and usually being the only ECM on the team, ORDER everyone to form up on me and thus direct the assault using the power of ECM to pull em along. People tend to listen to DDCs who lead the charge, or they understood how OP ECM is and thus were smart enough to follow it. Both of these accounts i havent touched in over 10 months and i know there's NO WAY in hell i can pull the same stunts since the meta's changed and my own skills have deterioated.
However my stats are heavily stilted in odd ways due to several other factors. I played religiously from Nov 2012 to Mar 2013 and then took like a 9 month hiatus coming back a coupla weeks ago. Three things hurt me badly and sorta drove me away, the poptart/ppc spam meta going crazy, since i'm a crappy shot so i was essentially a face huggin ML/SRM spam brawler (SSRM for my lights). HSR hurt, since, with improved hit detection it made brawling at close range non viable since people can pop snipe kill folks from extreme ranges at hyper accuracy, not to mention i cant EZmode win anymore with my Craven and Streakmando (AKA Trollmando). ELO matching tanked my stats a bit since i stopped winning at like a 80% clip in premades to like 60%, and since my stats were so heavily inflated i kept getting thrown onto teams with HORRENDOUS players. Also with weight matching dropped, i oftentimes was put on teams that were HEAVILY underweight... especially on assault. Now if the puggies listened to the 4 man and followed our lead, we usually pulled it out via cap or stringing em out til we can defeat them in detail, but ya'll know how puggies usually are when folks try to be polite and offer up a strategy in chat.
So my stats were accrued when hit detection were {Scrap}, so ML/SRM brawlers were king, mostly pre ELO/weight matching, 8v8 (so 4mans are HEAVILY favored), not to mention the "Reign of the Craven". I pugged about 20% of the time in total. After getting murdered about 200 times pugging when starting out with practically no kills i joined a House Liao Teamspeak server and proceeded to watch my stats skyrocket.
I have a special place in my heart for the StreakCat.... my god that mech single handedly brought me from the deep red to green KDR on its lonesome. Playing the ever living hell out of that mech allowed me to earn enough CBills to buy the other mechs to abuse the Meta (Craven, DDC, ac/20/gauss Kats). Even when ECM came out, it was no big thing, just have a ecm light buddy with you. Nothing says BWHAAHAHAH when a countered Craven runs into a Streakcat. 2 or 3 salvos and the light was toast. Oh and the uber JJs were hilarious, i escaped death so many ******* times it was ridiculous.
Also making money back in the day was easy when you win alot. Rearm&refit was supposed to eat up your bank, but if u rolled the opposition alot in 4mans, u usually only repair armor and hell i often just went into battle with 75% load of ammo.
These days... man, its rough, i'm simply not a good shot (even during my heyday) and dream of the days when hit detection was {Scrap} so i could be "amazing" again brawling in my ML/SRM boats.

Floats between 4 and 4.15, usually drifting towards 4 when a new mech comes out that isn't very good but I want to level anyway.

Anyway, my K/D stat is about as good as my Sex/Love Stat. 0.19 at last count, and Skirmish hurts that ...

On Nov 23 I needed 288 kills without being killed to get a K/D ratio of 1.0
On Jan 09 I finally reached my goal with 1.0 showing in green.
Tonight Feb 26, I sit at 1.10 with 288 more kills than when I was even.
Kills / Death: 3,238 / 2,950
Wins / Losses: 2,142 / 2,082 (this one is hard to control playing PUG only)

Best Mech with a sufficient number of matches to be meaningful is a Battlemaster with a k/d of 3 and a bit.
I remember when I first checked my stats, having played for two months, it was about 0.2, so I'm happy enough to be consistently killing more than I'm killed.
Now that my Elo is highish, I tend to drop in matches with a lot of new players on my team. It's harder to get kills when half your team or more dies without scoring any. I just have to resign myself to do the best I can in the circumstances.
