I'm sitting at 2.06. Sadly, gone are the days of my 3+ kdr. Too much crappy mech leveling and not enough meta playing (As in none)

This. My KDR is absolute suck, but that's after leveling through all the Phoenix 'Mechs.

tripple AC2 (accuracy ~60%) <_<

90%PUGing
up to now I reached following stats
W/L 1.34
K/D 1.94

I hope this is not that bad for a Medium Mech

K/D ratio is a meaningless stat. I don't know why anyone cares about it. I Have a positive K/D ratio. Barely. That's because I'm on the front lines fighting. I always try to get at least one kill before I die. Anyone who boasts about a killer K/D is probably a coward, IMHO.

I find it very difficult to believe that its even possible to average over 600 damage a game with an average game length of 3 minutes and maintaining a 95% survival rate????? you sir, Piipu are a liar

Running a Battlemaster(LRM outfit), doing 1316 points of damage / 121 points worth of score-rating, and getting 1 kill, and dying right after in that match:
  • Now that requires some talent; hence I don't put too much value either on the KDR rating myself.
I think Win or Lose is more important, because to that you can put yourself in to, and contribute(especially outside of Skirmish).

Those average stats can be misleading and it's up to everyone to interpret them for themselves, for instance:
KillDeathRatio
8,5472,8173.03
WinLossRatio
3,5502,1431.66

See how my W/L rate is way lower? For me it proves that one single person can contribute but in most cases can not change the outcome of the game. When it comes to that you need to work with your team.

The stats also do lie:

You could easily get your WLR over 10 by dropping with the House of Lords or equally good players (Not that there are many out there) all day if you prefer to play for fun or with a comstarNA pug/clan-mates of course your W/LR goes down.

In my opinion the K/DR is mostly influenced by what mechs and loadouts you drive my mechstats for instance:

It is pretty clear I drive more meta mechs than normal even though I sometimes roam around with an Oxide Locust or BJ - so that explains the KDR.

What I do find usefull are the weapon stats though. you accuracy helps you setting up the right amount of ammunition to pack in and to see what you perform in best.

Problem is that a lot of K/D ratios are supported by months of meta inbalance like poptart builds , 6 PPCs monsters , double AC20s , broken mechs , pre HTR and bla bla bla.

I'm proud of never been on that list , having a K/D ratio of 1.53 at this moment ; my best mech is a boars head with default weaponry and a K/D of 2.27......yeah i know....atlas with XL but his K/D says everything ....it works , not for everyone of course.

I'm at .64 myself. at one point, I was around .98, but getting stomped repeatedly with subpar teams brought it down hard. My win loss record is thankfully somewhat higher at 1,343 / 1,205. My longest played mech is the Raven-3L (W/L 1.24, K/D .64) at over a day, but my best mech is an ON1-K with a 3.5 W/L and a 1.0 K/D.

but but

what about shooting a guy when hes more then half dead?
or just plain good timing and not yo piloting?

perhaps only count kills that are above 55% damage and add the rest into decimals equaling 1.0? :P

helping your team win is more important tho , win,loss doesn't reflect that all the time with all the dissconnects/teamstacked/teamwork/all randomeness ect. lol



only the kool kats have 2.0 k/d ratio with dragons/awesomes/locusts/quickdraws/trebuchets/hunchbacks :D

managing
1.05 win loss ratio
.97 Kill death ratio
with Raven 4X at least :P :ph34r:
