Did not encounter this issue until latest patch.

Workarounds that I have attempted but failed so far:-

1. Reinstall the game
2. Repair Tool
3. Changing graphic settings to low or fullscreen/windowed/full window or off AA entirely
(I know for sure that it is not a GFX issue because I can still go into Testing Grounds with my normal settings)
4. Installing game into C:\ directory instead of other locations
5. Updated latest AMD gfx drivers and Windows Update

System

OS: Win 7 Ultimate x64
Ram: 9 gb ddr 3 ram
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5850 (stock clock)
CPU: Intel i7 930 (stock clock)
HDD: 1TB

Did you try ALT+TABbing out and in again ?

Don't forget to submit a support ticket.

Yeah, that didn't work too.

Will do.

Yo guys, another chap on the same page here, been having blank screen during launch ever since the latest patch. Tried a clean sweep and reinstall the whole program but to no avail, as the matter in fact did the clean sweep and reinstall a couple of times already. Downloaded and running the repair tool for the few times since the last patch but to no avail also. Really running blank on ideas how to get the 'the glitch by the latest patch' over with and get on with the game. Any bright ideas are much appreciated.

Well you can always pray ... maybe the next patch brings good news (and not the professor Farnsworth kind).

Had to stop playing for about a month once because they fiddled around with the netcode and I got a constant 1300+ ping, good times. It did get fixed eventually ...

Yeah, that didn't work too.

Will do.

When you submit a ticket, you will get an email similar to this:

"In order to troubleshoot this issue, we require some information about your situation. Note I am requesting your DxDiag again as an attachment please because it gets truncated in the ticketing system. :)

What type of internet connection do you have?

Please describe your network:
-Brand/Model of your modem
-Brand/Model of your router (if separate from the modem)
-Connection method; are you connecting through an ethernet cable or through WiFi?
-Are you able to test through ethernet if you're currently using WiFi? What was the result?

What is the advertised speed of your connection?

Where are you located geographically?

What antivirus/firewall software do you have? Does the issue persist if you disable this application(s)?

Please run a trace route and a ping test to our servers:

Trace Route:
-Press Windows Key + R
-Type CMD
-Click OK
-In the Command Prompt, type: tracert 70.42.29.65
-Take a screenshot of the results once it's done and attach it to your reply

Ping test:
-Press Windows Key + R
-Type CMD
-Click OK
-In the Command Prompt, type: ping -n 100 70.42.29.65
-Take a screenshot of the end results and attach it to your reply

**pingtest.net gives information on connection jitter, which a regular ping test would not give us, which is why we request our players use this for testing.

Please attach your DxDiag and most recent log files;

There are two important log files, with similar naming:
-One starts with Omicron Build
-One starts with OmicronOnline Build
Logs from the current day are in the MechWarrior Online root directory, named Omicron.log and OmicronOnline.log
If you're submitting about an issue that happened on a previous day, the LogBackups folder will contain those logs, which are dated

By default, this is the installation path for the game: C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\
The LogBackups folder is in this directory as well.

===============================
How to obtain and attach a DxDiag:
-Press Windows Key + R
-Type DxDiag
-Click Save All Information. If prompted about WHQL drivers, click no.
-If the Save All Information button is not present, simply click on Run (32/64 bit)DxDiag. The Save All Information button will appear after the diagnostic.
-Attach the file to your support ticket.

Reppu
Senior GameMaster
MechWarrior® Online™"

Try to include this information, it will help speed the process. I am having a friend test my PC on his broadband. I should have results later today. He has not had an issue playing MWO with his PC, and I am certain mine will work as well. I believe it is an issue with the last patch and yours/mine internet connection.

I didn't realize this issue was already a thread on it's own, started another thread earlier. I have this same problem, unfortunately the fix above doesn't apply because i normally turn off my comp when I'm not using it. any ideas so far? I'm located in Malaysia, it may seem that folks with this problem are geographically co-located?

Then the problem must be due to our location because I am from Malaysia too.

Server/netcode is somehow preventing us from joining games.

Was checking Lowyat and found this thread, but the affected area is limited to KL/Klang.
https://forum.lowyat...ic/1058751/+780

Tried doing a ping test to Canada, assuming that is where the servers are.
My ping definitely gone up, from 250+ms to 350+ms

This could be the problem, though it's really coincidental that this happened after the latest patch

If that's the case, I suggest everyone who is affected by this and hasn't already filed for customer support to do so. Geographical location and ping might help too.

I doubt it's our ISP's issue. I could still stream Youtube or download files at my normal speed. That means my area wasn't hit by the disruption.

And Universal is having the same problem when he is from the UK.

What I do know is that right after the patch, I can't join games anymore.

Drop an email here folks. It may not solve the issue right away, but at least the devs will know it's widespread:

Before you go through all the trouble to trace route, get logs and all that tell them where you are located geographically. They may simply reply that they don't support the game where you are (ie. outside North America).

I don't see why they would say that as things have been running fine prior to the latest patch. Unless there was fineprint in the latest patch that explicitly mentioned the servers were being grouped according to geographical region to make ping better or something

Haven't been able to play at all today - black screen sends me to either mech lab or back to desktop. Raised a ticket with files as per Gruinhardt's post above - hope this can be fixed seeing as I've just plugged for some MC in the Black Friday sale.
