Clearly, the 733C is the pick of the litter, but you gotta buy three in MWO.

So, which 3? And does willingness to buy a Heavy Metal affect your list? TIA.

732 and HM for me. But 733C is the keeper, as you say.

Gauss 4T ammo
LRM15 in the torso w/2t
2 SRM6 with 2 tons
3ML
STD 300
2JJ
11 or 12 DHS

IMO, the HM, 733C, and 732 are the best. I kept the HM and 733C, but I'm thinking about selling the 733C because my Victor 9S does the same thing and is quite a bit faster.

733C, 732 and the 733P for me. The P is the worst, it runs pretty hot with juts energy weapons but at least it adds some variety. The 732 and the 733 are pretty similar. HM ofc if you are willing to spend money, but the 733C is the best variant imho.

I have all three of the standards. 733C is the best. 733P runs hot but if you make a decent build out of it, it's pretty worth it.

Feels like 733C/732 and then HM or 733P. About what I thought. No love for the 733? Do these missile tubes make me look fat? ;)

I went for the 733C, 733P and 732. My best results are actually in the 732 running an AC/10:

or

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...30b534eecf3de9b

As people have said, the 733P adds some variety, but the lack of a ballistic hardpoint left if feeling inferior to the others. The 733 can boat missiles better if that's your thing, or run the AC in one arm, 2 x SRM6 in the other which makes for a very nice brawler.

i bought the HM when it came out because i mean its awsome, then the 733c and 733 variants when they became available. i Sold the 733 recently, its just meh. after the ghost heat implementation, its really killed this mech for me. the 732 would have been a better choice at the time but i would have felt dirty playing it. the torso mounted energy points are great for PPCs but im not so sure you need 3 hardpoints for that and if i had 3 id rather use them for lasers and heve them be inthe arms (HM)

the 733 is tough, if you want to make it an SRM brawler, you can but i personally dont like arm mounted missles and 4 srm6's are too many. you can also fire srms in 2 groups, but that defeats the point of srms and every time ive done that, ive hated it. if you boat streaks, well, i dunno 2ppc + gauss + 4 streaks? im not gonna fall in love with a mech cause it can run 4 streaks instead of 3. i used a super effective build before with it though wich was 2ppc, lrm 15 or 20 3 streaks and 2 mlas, std 280.

if you decide to go with lurms, the 733 is going to annoy you. it has weird configuration issues with the launchers. you used to be able to launch a total of 50 missles in one volley, 20,10,10,10 but now it doesnt work that way, it always turns the 20 into a 10 rack for some reason. especially annoying now when you put a 20 and a ssrm 2 in the torso. it puts the ssrm 2 in the 20 spot and puts the 20 in the 10 spot. that being said, you could run 4 10's and fire in 2 groups.

if i had to pick 2 to keep 733c and HM, hands down. if i had to pick one, i couldnt. if i had to buy 3 now, id probably pick up the P energy variant and make a LL/SRM brawler.

I meant to say three of the standards (733P, 733C, 732). I forgot there were 5 variants total.

The 2 variants I kept were the 732 and the P. It seems as if you're not gonna get a solid answer here mate... ;)

Who needs solid answers? This is an internet forum, we wants opinions!

@MavRCK, does Sean "second worst use of my Scottish accent ever since I'm the one of these guys who's NOT supposed to be Scottish" Connery really count as a Highlander? ;)

733C is the only variant that can mount an AC/20, and also has 2 ballistic hardpoints so you can mount 2 AC/5s or 2 UAC/5s to fit in with the masses of high damage alpha strikes. I would have the HM but I'm not willing to pay for it.

The HM plays kill music. That alone puts it over the top.

733 because missiles (SRM is meh, and I don't LRM)
733P because there are better energy boats + missiles.

732, 733C and Heavy Metal are the 3 best for the current meta.
