I said "a little more stopping power". Don't want to go back to pre ghost heat era with 6 PPC builds.

In the other hand, mechwarrior should be all about close range combat ?

Yeah yet somehow ac40 is not enough for you that's weird I have no idea why would you want more then that(my friend in ac40 jagger and me in BJ ac20 destroyed 3 atlases under 2 mins talk about stopping power) . Range combat there is plenty of all ranges from hugging to 600m sniping I just don't understand how you don't see it.

As a not so new player, albeit recently just comming back to mehcwarrior (By the way 11 patch updates.. damn this is taking forever and its not that I have slow internet)

I just want to smash stuff! I still have to get used to the different weapons but I just love getting cannons and dakka smashing opponents!
It is nice when the team works as a group however. Going solo seems to be a very bad idea unless you are super fast!
I found the speedy centurion build was always hilarious if totally uneffective!

Yea I just play to have fun :)

I continue to play for the great battles that develop every now and then. Such are the underdog sweeps, pug victories over premades, the 2v1 and duels. All of this makes it more interesting by using underutilized chasis like the dragon and awesomes and broken weapons like SRMs.

If i'm trying to make my team win, i only use AC40 Jags and 2PPC/AC20 alpha machine misery. Under that firepower, it's just for fun, nothing competitive since it dont "stop" the ennemy.

About range, 500 meter is quite close IMHO. Modern tanks engage 2 km away.

This isn't real life, its a science fiction video game about giant robots. I for one do not want to play a game where I'm shooting at some one so far away I don't even see them. The ranges and damages on weapons are fine for this game.

I play MWO for fun and for the realism.

Some people complain that MWO is too "arcadey" now, personally I don't see how. It's still one of the most realistic mech games out there (heat management, area specific damage, and plenty of non-instahit weapons, YES! ;) ). Maybe that's because the only other MW game I've played is MW4, which a lot of people say sucked; maybe there's something about MWO that I'm missing because of it? :P

Anyway, I play because I love the challenge and I love to mix and match builds and strategies with my mechs. You gotta love that feeling when you get your new favorite mech juuuuuust right. ^_^

In comp play ill do whatever it takes to win but in 4 mans my goal is having lots of damage, one or more kills and not dying I don't give a **** about getting back capped in 4 mans I'll never go back unless I have support and am in a quick mech, I'm not dying for 8 guys I don't know. I don't even cap in assault while piloting a light I recon and spot and fight. Those who don't play in 12 mans regularly may not know where I'm coming from but those who do I feel r more likely to understand so I picked option 1.

It is kinda "arcadey" if you think about it you can't make piloting error ( e.g hitting wall at high speeds) you don't have to be careful when moving these giant machines, also look how maps are designed you'd expect them te be more complex for game like this.No limitations on what can you put in each mech (ac20 raven comes to mind) and stuff like that makes this game silly.
list goes on and on. It is true that its not your usual shooter but its quite simple because of missing features and devs making wrong moves in mech design.

I prefer a good fight, but I think winning is more important and I will cap if that's the only way to win. Aside from that I want to collect and master as many mechs as I can, I'm currently up to 70 with over 60 mastered.

I play this game because I have some good friends who play this game and it's something we can do for fun that doesn't cost us more than we are willing to pay and we can have a laugh while doing it.

I voted for all four options. There are aspects to all of them I like.

Surly we dont play the same game, Premades vs. Pugs I say.... It's exactly as fun like back in the days, a pro counter strike team enter a public server.

I am playing the mech customization game, that has nothing to do with shooting people. It is sad I have to play the regular game to toy with builds... that it what smurfy is for I guess.

I play this game for a different purpose than all of the 4 choices.

I play to create/theorycraft mech builds that are highly effective on destroying mechs while maintaining high survivability no matter what mech class it is. For example the 6 med laser jenner and the 4 LPL stalker with 20-22 DHS.

I also want to get all the modules on the pilot lab. you need a total of roughly 250k GXP to get almost all of the Module perks(NOT POKEMECH).

I like to win, regardless of the manner of the victory. I like to cap. I like to kill stuff with extreme prejudice. Finally, I like to collect c-bills and buy new mechs.

I had to vote for all 4 options, but if I had to prioritize any one thing it'd be helping the team to win.

I don't care about winning or losing, I care about having a good fight. If I get into a big team brawl in the middle of the map and both teams are at equal strength and there aren't any really cheesy things going on (catapaults in the back spamming artillery and LRMs, for example), I'll walk away from the match with a smile on my face, even if it was a loss.

Even in its current state, MWO is one of the few games where I go "**** yeah!" after getting a kill. It's really satisfying for me. Even getting an assist.
