The graphical appearance is important to attract people, but even more important is having the essential information or topic as the focal point, so that people know what its all about. There is no focal point. How is it that what's equipped on a mech is on a side tab? Its supposed to be the most important part of the mechlab! Hands down, worst mechlab out of all the games in the MechWarrior series.
I agree. They have let everything pile up behind this when there was an easy viable option out there. It is sad that everything in this game is 100% dependent on UI2.0. Frankly - work on what is needed to keep this game afloat - content. UI wont launch till at least may of next year. They arent even close.

There are so many issues with it but this single one bubbles to the surface instantly and with it brings the certainty that if THIS is the kind of **** they are doing then they definitely without a question got almost everything else wrong as well.

Keeping the old UI would be a bad first step to replacing it This isn't about a mechlab redesign, that's just in there with it... though I would at this point just build the new one with the same layout.

The menu looks nice but was ultimately frustrating to use, as everything was buried under 10 levels of submenus. I also couldn't figure out how to show the loadout of existing mechs before I began to modify them.
The current menu, while fairly ugly, is pretty functional. This new one? Absolutely unusable. I wonder if the people who designed these menu's actually play the game and know what we actually want to do with it. A redo is in order, and a move to Smurfy style loadout screens would be the best move. I don't want to have to individually check each section to modfiy armour values.

We're really grasping at straws now, aren't we? The fans are saying "I bet they'll have everything ready for Christmas, they just want to surprise us, is all. They've had the UI, CW and clan packages ready all along! Yes, that's definitely what they doing... that's definitely what they're doing..."
Let's just all sit down, hold our knees, gently rock back and forth and repeat "Everything's going to be alright."

Why re-invent the wheel? The UI SHOULD have been bedded down right from the start and incremental improvements made - scrapping the UI and rebuilding it and this is what you can come up with is indeed bad.
Let's hope there's better design and common sense and let's get on to CW, Clans etc before this game goes down south.

A well designed layout will have several ways to add and remove items from the configuration.

Not sure if you took my sarcasm seriously but to clear the air anyway, I have basically no expectations beyond being able to continue stompy robot warfare.
