What ever hunchback model they decide, it should have ECM

If the hero was just a HBK-G or HBK-4P with ECM I would probably get it. That's all it would take to bring the poor Hunchie back into relevancy.

I posted my thoughts here figuring they might get more Dev attention in that sub-forum.

Im not even convinced a hunchie should be a hero. to me its just an ac20 with legs. anything else is just not a real hunchback to me. Not all mechs are created equal, and some mechs, like the hunchie, arent meant to be heros. It should be the cheapest platform you can viably run an ac20 off of, and that should be enough.

I would like to see arms and legs in a hunchback

I'd like to see a single ballistic point two back up energy mounts, and the rest missile, all torso mounted

balistic ac20 capable, arm energy for annoying lights ,then missile placement that gimps lrms boats but allows a goo range of SRM/streaks

1 Ballistic on each side torso, 2 Energy on each arm or 1 Energy on each side torso and 1 on head.

Hero hunchback... classic 4g shape, slightly refined hump. 1 energy in each arm, 1 energy RT, 10 tubes LT. Up to 350 engine.

Manages to be different without ecm or dual ams or whatever else

Edit:.... and yes up to 3 JJs, if it must have them

Edit2: maybe scale the engine down to 325

I was going to reply with the same thing. Hunchback IIC with 1 Ballistic in each shoulder and 2 energy in the arms

Unfortunately, I don't see the math working out in a 50 ton mech. In canon, they got away with it using XL engines. But you can't run XL engines with AC20s in the shoulders in game

Hunchback variant? I could totally see a variant for the IS that was basically the Hunchback IIC with 3025 tech. So basically 4 tons of armor, 2 AC/20, 1 small laser in an arm, 2 ballistic hardpoints per torso, 1 laser hardpoint, 150 engine.

Oh, come om, tell me you wouldn't drive that!

2 ballistic each shoulder, 1 energy each arm, 1 energy head. cause you will have people run quad MG dual large laser.

You mean poor man's AMAZING!

On a serious note, though, it could be used to fill out drop weights. Instead of bringing 65 tonnes of absolute doom, you would be running 50 tonnes, which is the difference between an Awesome and a Highlander, or a Stalker and an Atlas. Hell, the difference between a Shadowhawk and a Cataphract. The build I posted doesn't use ES or FF, either, so you could even run gauss if you wanted to.

How about the Dakkaback?

9 ballistics slots..

that's right, 9 ballistics slots.

I know Machineguns are terrible (but hero mechs are sorta meant to be), but come on It would essentially be a giant Piranha

1 Ballistic head, 2 ballistics each arm, 2 ballisics each side torso and 2 ballistics center torso! (that's right, Zombie machinegun mech!)

It would allow for a big ballistic in each side torso, while not just being a flat out better HBK-4G

Clan XLs would get away with it in game as well, which is what the IIC was using. They need to lose both side torsos to be destroyed. That requires more received damage than even current CT kills.

Twin Hunchbacks. One with Autocannons in the head and CT, and another with autocannons in the LT and RT.

I'd like a special version of the SP, with the high missle slots changed to high energy slots.

2xEnergy LA, 1XEnergy LT, 1xEnergy HD, 1xEnergy RT, 2xEnergyRA

I'd also be happy with that version, if it remains at 5 energy slots and would look like:

1xEnergy LA, 1XEnergy LT, 1xEnergy HD, 1xEnergy RT, 1xEnergyRA

I think, that if a HBK hero looked like that, it would be the first time for me buying a hero mech. At least, as long as it hasn'T got any negative quirks.

Honestly? If I could have anything out of a hero hunchie? Double hunches. Two shoulders. Two giant metal boxes. All badass. What would you put in them? How would you find the tonnage? No clue and I really don't care.

Honestly, the Hunchback has always been a walking AC20 for me, I´d really like a +30% variant of it.

The clan variant IIC sports 2 clan Lbx10, one in each side torso. That would be a nice mech, but I´d prefer it as new standard variant when the clans arive in game.

Correction: the IIC has 2 ULTRA 20 ACs and has paper thin armor. It exists solely to kill things very quickly before it gets cratered
