Just came back to say that after logging-in today, I noticed that my ping returned to normal, 230-240 range.
I do not know what happened or what caused it, but I sure am glad it's now 'fixed'. ;)
Here's to more big stompy mech action!

My ping has been great for over a week now, but Everybodies ping been much lower in general especially since Friday. I guess w/e cyber warfare or terrorist activity was going on is over now. Or the holidays is over and there is no more sales on big exploit kits. Or w/e nutsos were going nuts have now crawled back into their holes, or viruses have gone dormant again, until around this time next year...lol

Hi all,

My ping playing from SouthAmerica has always been in the 140-180 range. However, since the last patch, i ve been experiencing SERIOUS lag spikes, with much frustration ,because for about 5-8 seconds ALL the others mechs are stuck (5-8 seconds "stuck" in time in a MMOL is like eternity).

During that period of time i see my mech moving as fast as normal, but every other mech is seen as moving their legs but without moving out of the exact same spot.

Looks like my mech used the "Max Paine" bullet effect.

Even though it was amusing at the beginning, now its such a problem, specially when you are 1 on 1 on skirmish mode.

Does anyone else is experiencing this Lag Spikes recently? (it has happened to me several times a day over now, and at least once per match).

Regards,

We have had this as well Sudden freezing of all other mechs followed by a teleport across half the map.

I had put it down to our buggy wireless but now I am not so sure.

Getting a new broadband hook up later this week so we shall see after that and the immanent patch.... ????

Sounds like a server issue not your connection. Maybe something to do with the upcoming patch.

haha 20 ping increase bothers you? you must be joking. What you described sounds like an issue with the server not your connection. I've had this happen too, before server reset. Try again later today.

Since the last patch? funny how none of you posted about this issue until today at the same time. Sounds like a server issue bud. try again later.

Hmmmm.... Just for people's reference from SEA to one of Internap's interfaces close to MWO.
Looks like 19th Jan was a bad day to play..

Glad I am gave up this game until PGI release some real CW content. (Meanwhile roadblock DX11 nowhere in sight. )

welp back to 80-120 ping this week starting friday during the day, and 20 ping late night early morning

I just had this feeling it was gonna happen, because I quit my unit, and started spamming the forum again.. But thats probably just a cooncidence...lol Last time my ping went up after beeing good for weeks, was when i first posted. This is why i'm always blocking the http connection even when loading the client. Unfortunately when I post, I have to allow these connections.

And for the past couple days these connections have mostly been allowed. Another coincidence I guess.

Or maybe its just cause its the same old issue of rolling the dice on fridays. Will i get {Scrap} ping all week, or will it be a good friday.. Friday is the beginning of my MWO week haha. Maybe I should stay off the website on Fridays?

Last Friday though everyones ping dropped lol.

I guess because it stopped snowing and its finally a nice Saturday i'm supposed to believe everyone decided to say indoors today and go online? ya...ok..

Is the NSA spying on my forum posts? haha more likely some loser is.

I can't help but feel like I only have good ping when I don't post or log on the forums.... i started posting alot after the latest patch and quitting my unit, and call me paranoid. But I just knew this was going to happen. My ping is back to 100 after weeks of being 20, through snow storms and all... Totally Bonkers.

Speedtest.net is givng me 50 ping to toronto servers. Why am I getting almost 120 to MWO?

Its a sad fact, that only computer nerds are left playing pc games....and this just feels suspcious to me. TO say I'm wearing a tinfoil hat, even after edward snowden revolutions, or what happened to target, or the times we live in where websites like nbc.com have even spread malware. Only makes me think your a malicious hacker as well, or too ignorant to speak.

To whoever is out there, making everyone have 100 ping is not fair play. Especially when my fps is a 3rd of most players to begin with.

I'm not like a European, or a hick living in the boonies. Playing an fps game at 100 ping is garbage to me. This is only acceptable for RPGs. I live in NY and play on a toronto server. Its too suspicious. I expect better and might have to quit the game over this.

Like it appears almost all verizon fios users have already done last year!

Well, my ping became unplayable starting Jan 30.
It went back to it's previous levels of 500ms, to something like 800 or 900ms on the average.
Just unplayable. It's a good thing we have other online games out there.

I'm back to having higher pings at certain times especially weekends. Other games I play are not affected. It must be a load issue on the routes to pgi's server, whether I'm going through Kansas, like most people, or if going through Germany, or Atlanta, it doesn't matter. Fridays and Saturdays are the worst....I give up on complaining about it now....

Maybe it is the gov't or army trying to recruit more, or keep tabs, who knows...lol

Haliburton and the Army research and development center used to hack people playing counterstrike years ago, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

I've had the same problem sense the December patch. I'm from Korea and my ping use to be around 250 but now it's 2000 - 3000. Can't play the game anymore because of it.

I don't know if it is similar, but between November and May we observed this issue.

We have LAN parties several times a year, in the last 3 (Oct'12, Apr'13, Nov'13) we were able to play upwards of 12 people on MWO simultaneously without any impact on our ping.

At our May event, we were unable to play MWO with more than 2 people at a time. If we did, our ping shot up into the thousands.

At the same event we were able to play the following games (with up to 12 players) without issue: SMITE, Starcraft 2, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty Ghosts.

Seriously?

That is your response to a server issue? Try again later?

Allow me to suggest an alternative:

FIX THE DAMN THING! ;)

Also having these issues since the day before yesterday after NEVER having issues with my ping, and its confirmed that it is only an issue with this game because I do play others.

Other games that have some semblance of customer support, that is.

Mocking jabs aside, there is a serious lack of technical support with this game and its a terrible shame that a series I played so much as a child has such a lack of care.

I just was stationed in Seoul, South Korea and have horrendous 1500 - 2000 ping. I was living in Tokyo prior to that and had 200-300 ping. Tracert and speed test show no worse than 130-200 ping on multiple US/EU server pings. SC, BF4/3, CS:GO, CoD, and STO all play at 60-150 ping. But MWO is now totally unplayable. We have a word for that where I work: UNSAT.

P.S.: Yes I have checked firewall and network settings. Even did an across the board disable of all firewalls just to test and had same results. From what I understand this seems to be affecting Korean players since December of last year.
