I wouldn't complain as much about the lower reward if I can play my AS7-D-DC with full capacity by buying only it and upgrading it. But why should I also have to grind D and RS variants just for that? Only Stalker I care about is the 3F, only Catapult I care about is the A1, only Highlander I care about is the 733. The rest are extra baggage.

This "buy 3 to enjoy 1" mech tree is outdated and silly in the light of the new and lower reward system.

I think you got Semper Fi confused with Leroy Jenkins.

"Semper Fi, Do or Die" As we said in the 5th Marines.

We also had Semper Field dayus "Always Cleaning"

And now it continues with Clan Omni Variants! If you thought the grind was bad for IS mechs just you wait!

3 of one assault clan variants = 90MM CB = 4 months of play at 10 hours per week.

Well said. Overall its a stupid system that no other game uses. But im afraid to think about alternatives (like you need X number mechs of previus weight class to get to the next weight class).
Maybe we should be glad that PGI didnt screw this up to much, like be able to get any mech and weapons you want.

Seeing the "set" for Gomer Pyle as I marched to the Camp Pendleton rifle range was kinda cool!

Ok New player grind is... Fine. 20 Matches and I have a shiny new Highlander. I still need to grind the Double sinks and Endo maybe, But the first 20 net me awesome cash. Now to get into the thick of things with my Alt.

Yeah the Cadet bonus means that your first Mech - assuming you know what you're doing and can pick a good one on your first try - isn't too bad. You got ~8 million c-bills toward that shiney new Highlander for free. It's getting the next 2 that you need in order to unlock the Elite efficiencies that's painful.

Haven't paid PGI money in quite some time. Used 1 month of premium, ever, way back in late 2012. Have some Hero mechs, but rarely play them. Use consumables when I feel like it with no thought for the "cost." Mastered all the older mechs except the Cicada and Awesome (because I'm just not interested) and Master each new mech as it comes out, though I did skip the Locust. Buy new modules/weapons/equipment just because I don't feel like tracking down the ones I have. Each time a mech releases, I buy (and usually upgrade) at least 3 variants to Master it, and by the time the next mech releases, I have more Cb than before I started the last one.

What grind? I'm completely and totally careless of my space bucks, and still make them faster than I can manage to spend them without actually just ******* them away. That's not an opinion, it's observable fact.

Your wrong, your doing something to get all this cash via lots of time to play or something...the grind is too much...

u gain roughly (sometimes less) 100 000 cbills per win, and roughly 40 000 if you lose....
How many times do you win a day?
how long do u have to play to make a million c bills, when mechs cost 3-4 million + the virtual money that goes into upgrading and stuff...another 1.5 mill for double heatsinks... o you bought the wrong engine no problem jus Grind ur self another 4 million....

Give me more game modes and fun, and maybe it wont feel like a grind when all im doing is enjoying a game...

PGI wants us to use real money to buy mechs, Not only premium ones. And the money you earn in matches are for upgrades and weapons.

Part of my problem is being here since the betas and having crazy amounts of cbills. Prior to the introduction of 12 vs 12 was a good spot. Okay, I'll admit it, probably a little too much if the amounts PGI said some people were earning was true. However going from an average of 170k per match on a win to about 90k per match on win hurts. Losses are even worse, especially if the game devolves into a cap-rush in the first two minutes of play. In the latter case I'm lucky to get 40k and win or lose that's horrible.

We need either a slight increase in the current rewards or the addition of more things to reward the player.

I tend to stick around and watch. Never know when you'll see a new build you like or discover a new tactic

The grind is pretty hard now i think weapons and engines are too expensive, i think the cadets should get 50 games with the bonus so if they stack with premium can get 3 of the same chassis and kit them out.

I see you've gotten all the usual suspects chiming in that the grind isn't hard because there exists another game out there with an even worse grind, as if that actually makes logical sense, or would matter to a person sick of the grind on this game. Also, I see they've already started in with the personal attacks, calling you a whiner and a crybaby.

Isn't it great that we have such helpful forum trolls? I'm sure they really contribute to new player retention a lot.

You get the same amount of c-bills whether you wait until the end or just quit the match. You just don't see the final tally on your death screen.

On occasion I leave if I die horribly as a result of poor play, but for the most part I hang out and watch the end results. Im really in no hurry as not grinding for anything, when I do leave it is out of frustration not impatience.
Even if am/were grinding out xp on a particular mech to get the line mastered I do the same.
This games grind is so minimal that there is really no need for the rinse/repeat process.
