The important question is: what is that arcane artifact in the lower-right corner? Is that a Babylon 5 card box?

This basically confirms what I thought.

We get a map and deathmatch in Dec. Deathmatch being Assault sans bases to cap, so honestly not a lot of work.

Basically UI 2.0 is waaaay behind schedule and eating up lots of manpower and is going to get released early and buggy like we are back to Open Beta last year but this time it will be the UI rather than the engine. That puts CW out 6+ months to phase 1 from what I can tell of the actual production lead time they have.

Slow and steady... better slow than static though.

I see a mini vader, a empty box of 5Gums (these things are incredibly expensive) and a really messs desk

Looks like a "5 Gum" box to me. The box that holds many smaller boxes of these:

Ah. But the box... the box...

The box is not empty!

I see a dragon's egg, a wad of magical cloth, some tubing and a bottle of adhesive.

Well, I haven't played much since "Release" and I decided to see what was in the pipe. I guess I am not too surprised that nothing worthwhile has been released. UI 2.0 still months away. CW still in initial planning stages. What the heck have these guys been working on for one and a half years? Seriously! It boggles my mind how slow these guys are. They must have a development team that is either very inept, or just too damn small. At this point, with the population of this game dwindling, I am afraid that this might be too little too late. We might be in a death spiral here and it might be too late to save this game, even with a herculean effort. It's a shame too because this game had such promise.

Current plans are to shift the regular forum updates to a video format which will hopefully be a little less time consuming as the current method of communication. Our first video is targeted for mid-December if everything works out as planned. Stay tuned for updates around that time.
Paul,

Thanks for the update, but I would discourage you from shifting to video. It may be faster for you, but it's more time consuming for your audience, who you want to be inform (perhaps even excite). I think you also risk more players getting their information second-hand. If I'm getting my information from the guy who watched the video, I'm getting his spin, not yours.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Here's the reason why some of us are concerned. Since as early as May 2013 we have heard about UI 2.0 http://mwomercs.com/...ial-discussion/ and upon seeing the new UI many of us have not been impressed with the interface that should have been in development for at least 5 months. http://mwomercs.com/...-feedback-poll/

It will take PGI putting out quality work and accepting community feedback to restore faith in those of us who are still here after the ghost heat, coolant, and third-person view issues.

Unfortunately text can be subject to the same spin via second hand sources or even first hand due to not fully reading the content, or missing words making for an incomplete message, etc. Both systems have their flaws, but if this is something that they can kick out readily and provide information more often then I'm all for it.

Im glad that i stop right after the phoenix package.. I felt that PGI had made some wrong moves with the recent things they have done and worst this project update - december stated that the CW are just at DESIGNING PHASE?

My thoughts right now that they are going to milk our money by pushing the clan mechs way out ahead without the CW and after that use some *PR* skills and told us "Yeah, we are still desigining the CW phase and wont be out in a year or so but hey we got some new coolz mechs coming out NOW!"

Up till now, occasionally i will still play this game but i guess it's time for me to make a stop until they got CW up and ready which should be 2years from now.. LOL!

Thank you for bringing up the limitations of the video format. I will poke the uppers to see if we can have the AtD transcribed. Heck- I'll do it myself if I have to.

thanks. its the least you could do =)

Thanks for the Update

One thing that bothers me and it would be sweet to get a straight answer....

Quote

A new game mode is being added. Skirmish will be released mid-December which is essentially Team Death Match. The inclusion of this mode is the first game mode specific step toward Community Warfare and the game modes that will be required for planetary control and community conflicts

This strongly implies that planetary control can and will (also) be decided by the outcome of mindless arena brawling with zero actual tactical or strategic considerations.

This is something I very strongly oppose, and I do firmly believe that I am not alone in this. Just the simple notion of territory control being decided by a WWE Royal Rumble actually disgusts me to a certain degree....

Can we please get confirmation if this is in fact the case? I can live with either answer, I just want to know what I`m getting in to. ;)

Oh, and please make it possible to only deselect TDM while still having conquest + Assault in the queue. I like the current "any" option but have no interest in playing TDM, only griefing the former assault blob, and that is in nobody`s best interests. But it is the inevitable result of me dropping into a TDM match.

Thanks for all the info

LOL at the soonTM reference.

Glad to hear alot of this is in the works. However not really looking forwad to a buggy UI2.0. But as long as it works when we get it, and you DO fix any remaining buggyness that will be OK i guess. But I may grump about it some. grump, grump.

I remember when people were using the Soon[tm] thing back in the Everquest days.

The point being is I'm old, I guess.
