Being wrong, even culpably wrong, doesn't make one infantile. Being incoherently abusive and angry, on the other hand...

I also find it disingenuous and insulting to be told that the frothing, incoherent ragemonkeys who think their personal frustration excuses them from the rules of adult conversation and polite discourse are the ones "in the know." The very idea is, well... infantile.

Oh come on. You're not that bad. I'm sure with lots of reflection you can become a more useful member of the community.

Question.
The new map. Its on a moon, the moon has no atmosphere as evident from the screenshots and the gameplay that has been shown. Its also ..a moon..
So.
Low gravity, no air.

Will this affect mech movement?

Are jumpjets disabled ? (due to how they work)

Is sound affected ? (everything should sound very muffled/distant due to sound only being able to travel through the ground and mechs themselves, not the air (becouse there is none).

If not, why ? Immersion ?

LOL, great questions. I can't wait for the answers from PGI.

You guys are so busy with complaining, you didn't even recognize the easter egg that maybe hidden in the Picture of the new map.

There's definitely no flag fluttering in the wind. I searched the hole pic for it. Dont be ridiculous, it's a MOON-Map! :) :( ^_^

We saw it, not impressed... especially with the foul aftertaste that the Locust left behind.

You gusy should eat more fruits like sour oranges these days and go outside more to get the few sunbeams that are left. It's good for your balance of vitamines, especially vitamin D. It'll make you smile a bit more and let you feel joy and stuff.

I have an explanation for that; clearly the photo was taken on a sound-stage in Canada. THEY NEVER WENT TO THAT MOON!

I really appreciate the good chunk of info that came out here.

I'm hesitant to call it "A step in the right direction" due to an overwhelming sense of it being another 2-3 months before receiving any other big chunks of information (As has been the trend thus far, make some posts, wait a few month, make some more posts).

As appreciative as I am for the information from the posts put up yesterday, my credit card is staying in my wallet for the foreseeable future. I had been planning on adding the sabre re-enforcement pack to my Overlord pack but until I see these core features 'actually starting to physically appear in a live game build', the current game doesn't merit further investment over what I've already paid in various forms.

Looking forward to hearing and seeing more.

Hoping to hear and see more sooner rather than later.

In regards to Clan Tech:

You can't balance it, not with Inner Sphere technology anyway. Doing that makes Clan weaponry redundant because it's designed to have an advantage. Now that said, looking at potentially only adding certain Clan weapons would be an ideal way to go, and requiring grinding in order to unlock them would be a better idea then having them be so easily accessible that anyone sitting on 100 million C-Bills like I know some players are, won't be able to just instantly load out any Inner Sphere Mech they already have with the new and best technology. Clan tech runs cooler and has longer range, how do you balance that with the current meta? Well for one, you can actually fix Ferro Fibrous Armor so that it is stronger then standard armor, give people a reason to use it over standard and Endo Steel chassis because I'd rather have more survivability then an extra couple of tons in weight. Also, if you want to **** off laser beam boats, put in Reflective Armor and have that reduce energy weapon damage by 50%. Really all you can do to balance Clan tech is balance it with itself, ER Medium Lasers and Clan Medium Pulse are going to be the weapons of choice for all light pilots even running Inner Sphere Mech's.

As for OmniMech's well, they aren't fully module, which gives you some ability to have restrictions, however certain pods can fit any type. I think if you view the MechWarrior 4 design of Omni hardpoints as being an example, you can balance it fairly well. I know there were a few Clan chassis that had a lot of Omni slots, I believe the Nova Cat had primarily Energy and Omni hardpoints in MW4 which made it lethal, 4 ER Large Lasers and a couple of Light Gauss Rifles made it insanely powerful.

so CW is not even started development....great,

What I got was that some of the back end function has begun but they are nowhere near ready to hint at a release date for CW 1.0.

Quote

UI2 will be implemented with a mechlab that is seriously flawed and has been pointed out by almost every player's feedback to date on the public tests

He did mention that they've incorporated the feedback from the 2nd test in their current improvements. We'll see if that's true.

Quote

UI2 is "months away" despite being originally planned for spring...err launch....err....2013....definitely before Dec/13 but now Feb/March/14?

He didn't say "months away". He said that it will be released with bugs, and then for the next few months it will be debugged (By team A) and upgraded (By team :(.

Wow.

I'm not sure if the silence for 2 months was better than this update....

So despite original promises that CW was in development and coming in December 2012, we get to learn that it's not even really in development yet.

So why exactly were Phoenix mechs being promoted as having bonus Faction Loyalty points?

This is just so very disappointing. The core gameplay is great - blasting mechs is fun but honestly after a year and half of the same thing it's getting really stale. CW is always just around the corner and you guys haven't even started on it yet.

I'll play from time to time when I get the jones for it, but you guys have the last dollar you'll get from me until the promises stop being empty words and there's some reason for the endless grind.

Thanks for the update. Lots of information. I hope they made a few more improvements to the mechlab in UI2.0 before they roll it out, but it's good to see things moving.

Count me in as someone who's unhappy with the video format. I generally dislike videos, and rarely have time to watch them. I much prefer to read such information. That said, if there's also a transscript, I'll live.
