I think he left these forums right after Firestarter was created cause he thought FS9-S is too OP it made everything else light tier 3 iirc. Haven't heard of him here since then.

Having a new player 'Mech guide is a GREAT idea!
Rating it is not.
By all means, list the 'Mech variants (not just chassis, as variants have different hardpoints) and their common loadouts. But don't try to force an opinion of how "good" or "bad" a 'Mech is onto players. To each their own, and all that. And what you might be an OUTSTANDING pilot in...I could just plain suck driving (even with exactly the same loadout, modules, mastery level, etc.) In the end, it simply skews results by forming opinions before empirical data.
Even so...glad to see a thread. Mousing over all the 'Mechs in the bay is kind of meh to me.
