Disappointed.

Been screaming for more light heros for months. And was gonna say "omg hero Jenner, can't wait to get home from holidays to play" but then I seen the hardpoints and lack of jumpjets. jumpjets are what make the Jenner fun to play. And 4x ssrm2 at Jenner speeds is going to be a massive pain for other lights especially locusts. 3 missiles and energy/ballistic wouldhave been better.

I have been loving your last few patches pgi bit this just seems like a. Thoughtless money grab that just kills the game for other lights even without jumpjets.

With the acceleration nerf, the removal of jumpjets probably did us all a favor.

Every time you landed you would of been a sitting duck as you fought to get your machine back up to speed. That would of been brutal.

Even now with the falling down inclines or hitting bumps it's going to be a 35 ton blimp before it can get up to speed.

But i'll still buy it.

Waiting 2 weeks??? We were promised CW back in Jan. SRM's aren't fixed, No UI2.0, No DX11, and no Community warfare. Most of the vets here have been waiting for almost 2 years to get these features!

Don't give me "wait 2 more weeks" bull {Scrap}.

I do understand it's been a long time for many of you long-timers, but are you expecting any of those to be fixed in 2 weeks either?

(Well, I could see them pushing out UI2.0 in 2 weeks, but I doubt that, it's still missing some core functionality)

Look, all it is is a dev saying "The next patch is going to be cool, and this one wasn't too bad". Don't treat him like he's saying "Dance for the devs! Haha! Screw the players and deadlines! I'll keep the next big carrot 2 weeks away forver!"

Lets start with the good:

Hitbox tweaks are good (but also dependent on playing them, so many have been changed now that Ill probably have to re-tool half my mechs to make up for easier / harder to hit side torsos....)

Bug fixes, very nice

New effects brilliant!

Highlander Champion Trial, glad to see new peeps get a chance to use this for free

Visual loadout tweaks for Jenner and Catapult, love it (except for missiles, see below)

Now the bad:

Hero jenner (arguably subpar in almost every way to standard Jenners or Sarah's)

No HPG Map (despite it being snuck into the background for when they released the Jester, I really expected this before Dec 17th but oh well....)

Visual loadout tweaks do not include missiles!? Which were the most obvious and complained about aspect of the original change. They addressed every weapon that no one complained about and left the thing that people wanted changed.... unchanged (hopefully in a future fix eh)

Fluff and no Filler (once again plenty of time to add cockpit doodads and other garbage but too busy to address issues that some would refer to as "game breaking")

Conclusion:

As with the last say 5 patches I am very disappointed with the lack of development on new content, and also the disturbing lack of fixes/tweaks for: SRM, LRM, ECM and dare I say the dirty word "weapon balance" especially for pulse lasers, small lasers, and AC2 heat.

Despite my expectations being doused again I am still hopeful and waiting for a patch to come that starts to address the core problems with the game (I want to see UI 2.0 and CW as bad as the next guy but there really are some glaring problems to fix first.)

Anyways decent patch, keep up the good work. And please show me something soon to shine a ray of light on my beleaguered heart. I really want to see some items removed from the "needs fixing" list... or at least communication about when we can expect things like SRM fixes.

I'm just not getting the complaints. We've been given some timelines (or at least hints at them) as reciently as yesterday, so expecting CW or UI2.0 this patch wasn't particularly realistic, so I'm curious what folks were expecting?

Complaints about "No balance fix", "Not a lot in the patch" (Which is BS, there's plenty of dev work in this, even if it's not apparent), or "No new content" just seem more like folks screaming "they didn't fix my personal pet issue or put something in that I want" or are simply folks ignoring what's actually in the patch.

I've got no problem with folks complaining, and yeah, the game could use a lot more help than this patch, but it's a better game after this patch than it was prior (unless they really borked the map placements), and I don't think there's anything wrong with admitting that.

It's been the same game for over 2 years, only less variety and uniqueness than when it was in closed beta. The timeline PGI was following no longer exists, and they won't tell us if they have a new timeline as it would also be thrown out at some point. They need to hire more competent developers with the money we've been throwing them, and fast. They've had the game engine from the start, they've had at least 70 people on the dev team working over 2 years to bring us, what, exactly? I have never seen a more turbulent dev "cycle". No, a new hero light mech is insufficient to "tie us over".

Spawn points changing great news.

After the complete destrution of the Catapult, with poorly chosen weapon modules, the changes to the jenner worry me, I hope its not as mediocre

It would be great, if the next time we'll see the old-style missile racks and PPC's on Catapults.

I like the new racks. They look way cooler. Plus, there should be *some* kind of downside to sitting back in relative safety and raining down Hellfire on the enemy. Look at the bright side - every hit that over-sized missile box takes is one less that's landing on that vulnerable XL engine-housing side torso.

It will be in line with the streakhawk and streaktaro... will be interesting how fast you'll get that thing with 4 streaks, 2 tons ammo and a bap...

Yea, will be better IMO than the LCT-3S in that regard. Poor little guys.

Didn't you uninstall a few weeks ago?

Someone's got their "Cranky Pants" on today.

Ah following me around now eh? Yeah I've uninstalled this a few times, I've had a few good matches that got me perked up, but I like how you fail to respond to the guy that I responded to who felt the same way. Dude stop responding too my post you haven't posted anything constructive towards me at all, I consider it harassment if you keep posting at me in such a negative way. You can blindly follow these devs and give them all the praise you want doesn't mean this game has made significant improvements since it's been released.

Hmm...thinking about how much help PGI needs and I'm left wondering in all this time they haven't hired enough people, or maybe even retained enough people. Funny thought, the rats left the sinking ship and Russ and Bryan are the only two left eking out what they can. We never really hear anything about the staff, unlike CIG and even if you didn't want to know how many people they have working on the project you can't miss it (Because they know PR) and how excited they all are.

Rats may have left the ship...

THat's an entirely different arguement (and one I'm not arguing against) than "No Balance/New Stuff/Enough Stuff" generic comments I see slung around with no real backing arguement. I've been playing only since around June, so my expectations are different, and I've never felt I've been stuck in the game where it's been 100% stagnent, even if it's only moving forward slowly, but that's me.

And countering several of the easy complaints ahead of time is hardly White Knighting. I can do that if you want...

PGI is the greatest developer ever! There is absolutely nothing wrong with head dissipation, and Autocannons are 100% perfectly balanced. When we get UI2.0, it's going to be perfect, and solve every problem with this game, and I can't wait to spend half my paycheck this month on so I can buy a second Boars Head.

Is that better? :)
