I'm still hoping for a revamp of those Catapult missile boxes... those tack-on launchers grow more horrible each time I see them. Hero Jester with all energy... Hero Jenner with all missiles, you got trolled son!

I'm expecting big things for mid December.

[moon map] Was confirmed for Dec 17th 2 weeks ago or so :)

C'mon, now. You know that any time spent paying attention or doing a little research means less time for grousing. :P

  • Fixed a number of locations where players would get stuck on geometry in Frozen City, Crimson Strait, and Forest Colony maps.
  • New visual effects when 'Mechs hit the ground on death
  • New visual effects when walking through lava
  • Flamers now cast light starting on high spec

YESS!

NOOOOOOO!

Also, I'm calling Oxide DOA, unless you're dreaming about a light-chasing streakboat with no JJ.

A "Meh" patch IMO. Hopefully you all will give us a little meat with the 17th patch (UI 2.0 / DX11 / CW).

People are getting bored with the same old eye candy, fluff, and MC grab patches. Give us something substantial soon please.

Yeah I'm still looking which Highlander to get as third one, so yeah it may be a 733C from what I read in the forums.

The build would be better on a 733, with another SSRM2 and minus some DHS.

Sadly, the build can be replicated on the 732 (or 733 for that matter), so the build itself doesn't into account any of the uniqueness of the 733C chassis at all.

Still would have rather seen them do something to fix the Matchmaker and other core problems than spending all that time they did coming up with new 'hero' mechs and stuff. But, whatever...they have to keep trying to get new people to play the game, since all the old-timers are just walking away, shaking their heads.

Just a comment on folks complains.

"There's no new content" - Like it or not, a Hero and Champion mech are new content. Beyond that, Jenners get a facelift (which is new), and the new spawn/cap points might make many of the maps feel like new.

"There's no balance fix" - Hitbox redesign helped make the spider mortal and helped the Awesome's lot a bit, this pass fixed some actual balance flaws (IE, the Cent's unearthly durrability), and may help a few mechs that need some loving (Treb, Dragon). Also, new spawn/cap points are a balance fix.

"There isn't a lot in this patch" - 5 mechs get fixed hitboxes, 2 "new" mechs, new look for jenners, several bug fixes, and new spawn/cap points for every map? Sure, it's not Project Phoenix level new content, it's not UI2.0, and it's not CW, but there's a lot in here, including some bug fixes.

Sure, it's not a miracle patch, nor is it a major game changer, but I count several improvements that look to make the game better post-patch than it was pre-patch, and I don't think that there's anything wrong with seeing some improvements

I'm also already anxious for Dec 17th patch, so good!. But the Dec 3rd patch has some nice bits to tide us over as well.

I love how he thinks this lazy patch is going to tide us over till Dec 18th. What a joke.

Good to hear about the changes to spawn locations. Alpine should be more interesting now if you changed it so one team doesn't start with the high ground. I am however not happy to see that there are no actual fixes to things that are and have been broken for some time now. You guys need to fix gameplay issues before you fix cosmetic issues like how large the AC's are on a Catapult.... seriously.

This abject failure coupled with the shutting down of the Project Phoenix sales clearly demonstrates that PGI has neither the know-how or even common sense to produce this game. They treat their player base as insignificant cash cows to be reaped at their leisure and fail to give us anything substantial in 2 years besides screwing up game balance, match-making, or any semblance of this being a MechWarrior game. Either take the money that has been invested by myself and thousands of others and hire the right people to fix/make the game better or just simply shut down and turn this over to more competent developers. You have wasted enough time and people's money/faith that you will provide a product worthy of this great franchise and its time to put up or shut up. This is a legitimate plea by someone who has invested time/money in the hopes that this will be the game that we all want and should be taken as such and does not reflect the views of my guild.

I have to agree all the way on this. They have done nothing to improve the game in 2 years nothing added but ways to get morons to spend rediculous amounts on a mech in a game! A jenner with nothing but missiles but no jj? Another varient of a mech we already have plenty of? Just shut it down already with next gen getting ready to really ramp up why spend money on this?

Hell I wont spend money till clan mechs are officially released and only if they are not broken.

Last few patches on Tuesday have been over an hour long down time. It's pretty standard.

AH, ok, I remember them being shorter, but the last 2 or 3 I hadn`t experienced "live" due to work. Much obliged :)

New spawn locations, and lance separation, sounds great as it will add some variety.

The new Hero Jenner is a sad waste of an opportunity though... While I love Jenners, the lack of JJs is a deal-breaker for me.

I wanna know if PGI is taking notes on how the American government talks to it's citizens.

Cause Russ tweet and the release of this patch seem to point to it.

The Jenner hero can still use a 300XL engine, despite the accel nerf.

Yeah that's what I was saying.

There is no need to use a Steaktaro now. You can not start bulking up your kintaro's with weapons that will hurt - medium and gasp, even heavy mechs too!

... k?.... what was wrong with them ? .... never read a bad feedback about the new torsovisuals... only about the new ugly looking Misselboxes and tiny ppcs. I was thinking they will fix the missleboxes and ppcs after the twitterresponse of russ.

There are plenty of cannon jenners with 0 JJ ability. I'm not bothers so much by the lack of JJ.

The hard points are "unique" not very good in the current metta, but If they fix SRM hit detection issues and make some slight balance tweaks to make LRM's more viable, I can see this being a fun loadout variant.

What bothers me though is the 20% accellaration reduction "quirk."

It would be one thing if all the jenners have that (and that might be something to concider if you want to make locusts more attractive.) but having it as a one off is not fair. You already have a very poor metta playing loadout, coupled by having JJ restrictions, so the ONLY thing that you would expect to have going for it would be comparable speed to other jenners, but instead, you get a quirk that neuters the only thing you would have going for it.

I would say that if you ditched the quirk, the chassis would have some potential in the long run of the game, but as it stands now its pretty underwhelming.
