In all fairness, my earnings have actually been higher since the change.

As many of you know, I track my battle data for each drop, and looking at my average earnings, they were at 168k since the change in cbill earnings to before yesterday. I had a 174k average last night and a new all time high of 271k.

Granted, I only had 20 drops yesterday, so that's not enough to show a true statistical average, but it's a good start.

Yay for you, this was a big topic during our practice last night it was immediately noticed by many pilots. For me sitting at almost 270 million C-bills I watch it and I noticed it. Like I said ancedotal just like yours I take what you said at face value, bottom line is logic would suggest if fights are being resolved in a series of groups there is less potential for damage / assists / / saviors / spotting / salvage etc and earnings will suffer in the long run for that.

The whole point PGI stated the change they made to reduce earnings was because thier were more targets...well that is relative to position and targets available so I would rather have the law of averages versus your stats. In any event have a great day said my piece about it and for me its just another helping of disappointment.

Before the patch things seemed pretty even. Many games were decided by an even number of mech and came down to one on one last shot won.

Now if you spawn always on the left hand side of the list you will find your chances of winning are about 10%. Play 20 games and call me wrong. I have had 20 solid players leave the game until their is any type of balance. You tried PGI and worked very hard but brought forth a Mouse Things are now worse not better or maybe its a great plan we should be told about. Sorry its so cold in Canada. Guess you have been drinking more Canadian Mist. And, maybe the programmers need more heaters cause right now I think they are to frozen to come up with anything that makes things better. I do like the lighting effects on Mt. Doom.

So these new spawn points really suck. Before you were on top of each other and now you are 1000m apart. Really sucks if you're driving something slow and it takes 2 minutes to catch up to the group. Or how bout this- a few lights find you and they shred you easily because there is no one to help you.

In theory, the new spawn points are awesome. In some early games, they were, too.

Individual lances would meet and fight - this is cool, if not always ideal depending on how your respective lances where set up.

However, my experience has been - as people learn how the new points work - that the above happens less and less. Instead, what happens is one side regroups immediately, and crushes one of the opposing lances 12v4. This leaves a 12v8 battle. From there, it's all over baring lucky/foolishly allowed capping.

It's complicated, of course - if one of the outlying lances consists of, say, 3 fast mechs and one slow mech, it's easy for that outlying slow mech to get isolated and picked off 1v4. Yes, this is a tactical error that allows it, but in a PUG match that's pretty likely and worse, the player in the outlying slow mech has absolutely no chance whatsoever. He can't make the fast mechs with him stay, and he's got nobody else to stick with.

In the close-set spawn point setup we had, the slow mech had to elect to wander off on his own - so it would be his own mistake if isolated, unless he was the ONLY slow mech in the drop, but that's a problem that exists no matter what.

This system, then, is much worse for pugs. I get that PGI wants to reduce Deathball play, because it leads to those silly "our deathball missed their deathball, so now YAY CAPRACE!", but the reality is that Deathball play is the least-frustrating path for PUG play.

These new spawn points can screw you completely right out of the gate, through no fault of your own.

Going by my stats, it would take me about 5 years to reach C-billionaire status.

If only I had gotten that LAMP.

Playing a slow assault while pugging is an instant death sentence now. Cant blame the fast movers for leaving to form up but it seems when I run the Atlas I am solo every game.

Now it would be usefull (needed) that weightclasses /speed brackets need to spawn together.
Or we can shuffle in the ready screen for different lances and their position for dropping into the map also changes.
Oh, that could mean, we need longer ready time again, to shuffle the teams to the best possible lance position.

You mean lance composition and location could be important? No way... :D

Sometimes.....It's fun to watch them turn around and run screaming like a little girl past you as you catch up and they found more than they could handle. Makes up for the times I get left out in the cold.

Not 1000m apart and you are not alone, you got 3 friends ! At 2 minutes, a slow assault or whatever can make very good ground. I bet in 2 minutes I can walk from one base to the almost the other on Alpine. I'd be pretty darn close.

Most of the "concerns" being "expressed" strike me as something that would only be a "problem" for those who drop solo, and even then only on those occasions when the player drops in a lance comprised otherwise of bad players. Those bad players are going to cause you grief in any case.

The Chicken Little routine is getting old. Finding people to drop with is so easy and could resolve so many of these perceived problems.

NEED HELP? WANT TO GROUP UP? THEN LOOK HERE

It's in the New Player Help forum, because it's something with which every player should become familiar.

Sorry I have to call this bull . In my fatlas with 330 engine you can only get 5 and a half hexes {normal map hexes}. That is in 3 mins in a straight line no hills. Again that with no enemies and no hills.
That no good ground and if you spawn in a hill area forget it

Edit did another test this time quick video coming. Same mech suck at minor hill on drop and about the same 5 hexes.

So if you get left alone you are slag if dropped within firing range of another lance.

If you haven't already, I would suggest everyone go watch the GDC 2011 speech by one of the Devs for Age of Empires Online. He outlines how the game ran into some major pitfalls, how they sought to repair them, and what they learned from the whole fiasco. It should be required viewing for anyone who works in f2p game development and anyone who thinks they know what is or isn't wrong with MWO.

thanks for the link, interesting talk & good insights

Core player is what {Devs for Age of Empires Online}{which had Microsoft as the money backer} would have speak to more strongly. Again last word was
" Ignore the core at your own Peril"

And look at there numbers form "Devs for Age of Empires Online". For MWO to try and said they have more then 12k in active daily users is a damn lie lol. You can see real numbers and see after launch that once you lose them it very hard to get them back.

So launching with missing CW,Clans and others stuff BIG NO NO. It will be PGI same postmortem servers running but low agv daily user. Basically a Ghost server.

Edited grammar.

Not if I am on your team I always try to hang around the slow fat guy to assist him/her.
