Question is why? Is it the player base in general or the fact a segment of forum population gets a pass to harass and bully the rest? Is this fair and impartial or Arbitrary and capricious in moderation? Just this section and the fact several posters lay claim to it is enough evidence to show bias.
Who is laying claim to it aside from Zensei or whatever his name is?

It's a conspiracy. You don't come to jettisoned or k-town much do you?

Conspiracy denotes intelligence. I seriously doubt its a conspiracy to that one point alone. Its more like a locker room with some subtle overtones we shall not describe.

The new matchmaker tweak in todays patch only confirms for me the population is even lower now.

Add Syncdropping to the list of why the population keeps declining.

Itis a cheat/exploit and its killing this game. I don't care how often it actually works, its still trying to undermine the MM and is the whole reason noone plays 12 mans.

Just like I don't buy the excuse people prefer skirmish for cbills, I don't buy the excuse people sync drop so they can play with friends. Its what sore loser lamers and hackers do. It makes the game unrespectable, and noone wants to play a game they can't respect.

LIke other games that sync dropping has killed in the past,(GW1) the playerbase will eventually whittle down to nothing. Its why noone 12 mans because of the severe skill gaps and uncompetitive matches, and its why most of the players will always suck.
Are there any units out there that feel the same way? I can't be associated with mine anymore lol. I think this game might be doomed

When PGI finally adds the option for private matches. Stats shouldn't be recorded for people playing by themselves, and it should not be counted towards ELO or it will throw the whole system off balance.

That is the plan. Plus no rewards either in those matches.

A lot of players are waiting for private matches before they come back, because that's what they want. Rather fight than fighting against the same assault/pop tarts over and over again. No matter your stance on the 12v12 meta at the moment, that's why you don't see many 12 mans anymore.

I see plenty of them. The forum is littered with their complaints about the game

In my bracket I do see some overlap, but there is also a wide variety. When I switch accounts I see completely different people. I think elo brackets are tight and make a difference in who you see for matches. Make a smurf account for science!

"I see the same folks all the time in pugs, so therefore there is no one else playing"...

Does no one understand how ELO affects who you see in matches? I run into the same people all the time but those are just the same folks from my ELO bracket. Make a smurf account and you will see names you have never seen. Some days i see people in my bracket i have never seen before too, but then they become the folks i see all the time.

Or, and I know this is crazy talk. Take a second to stand up, stretch your legs, let the sun touch your face then come back and hit the launch button...

Then you'll see a whole different group of people who aren't hammering that launch button to get back in the game at the exact same moment as you.

Not if you pug. I read this pile of falsehoods months ago and tried it myself. I see the same people in my 100 match account as 9000 match account.

Maybe that is because you are not very good at the game? Low ELO is low ELO... its all based on your skill.

HAHAHAHAAH e-peen has nothing to do with this, look up ELO and how it works. Its a skill based matching system. Its far from perfect in MWO but it tries to match people based on skill in PUG matches, ELO and bit of weight matching is how the match maker finds matches for people. You can cry about me waving my E-peen all you want but it doesn't change the fact your QQing about seeing the same people because no matter what account your on your ELO is low.

ELO = Skill, just remember that.

It's always people who disagree. If you disagree you're automatically a noob stomping premade shill ruining the game.

I have to AGREE with the OP...numbers are down....

Our website/House had over 800 members and now is down to less than 400...This is mostly due to the same old same old...........Nothing really new .....
Same old Death matches...rinse and repeat.....

Where is the fight to capture a Planet or to control a system...Where are the GOALS to keep things Fresh ?? Something to fight for ??

If they actually had more than a couple guys working Part time on New Content ...who knows

Ya, I hear comments about peoples teamspeak servers having less people too.

But that being said I still feel I can find some good games. I just hope it doesn't get to the point, that those same couple units that own 12 mans, or those one or two guys that dominate match by themselves, are the only people left in the game. I have seen this happen to other games...cough...quakelive...cough.

Its ironic, but the fact that people don't 12 man cause they dont' like getting smashed by the same team over and over again, is the reason there is only a couple teams in the first place. I think if everyone who syncdropped, ran 12 mans instead, there would be alot more teams at their level for them to play with.... At least we are ELO rated in this game and there is a matchmaker not dedicated servers....and people can't manually change their tier, unless they smurf. Its a competitive game by nature and people need to be more competitive.

But soon they will have private matches......They say they sync drop to play with friends, but I guess we will have to see if thats truly the case, or if they are just looking for less competition for easy rewards...Because according to some posts, private matches will not have rewards....and it should not be part of faction bonuses. So we will really see if its just about "playing with friends"

Carebears and sore losers, are a minority in society. And PGI catering to them will only make this game unpopular. The fact stats are not public shows this what they are doing. But hey, most game developers in the industry have the same way of thinking. Thats why most pc gaming communities are very small! Athletic sports should be the model for all player verse player multiplayers.

I think some of the big units can use private matches have their own little private tourneys, competitive 3rd party leagues and sites can be developed for it, and it can really make a community popular. It can also just be a way to have "friendly" casual matches with friends....

But to earn those cbills or faction bonuses, they should still have to be properly ELO rated and play CW with the public. And if PGI does that, we will see who is the hypocrite and who is just a cheater after cbills.
