I haven't played the Treb as much lately since I bought the Blackjack Champ. I did go back and mount an AC/20 in the 7k just to see how it compared to the BJ. The Blackjack does it better, btw.

The only thing I really prefer about the Blackjack over the Treb, is the high mounted arm weapons. When I do go back to the Treb after running the BJ, I keep shooting terrain.

I've only ever had 2 matches over a 1k damage and they were both in a Treb of one variant or another. It's butt ugly, but, I still like it.

I would never call it a bad chassis, but I tend to get bored with a chassis after a while and move on. I only have 10 mech bays, so space is limited. However, the Trebs will always have a stall in my stable.

While I do like the idea in theory of a 140kph light hunting 3c Treb that has better arm mounted energy hardpoints for aiming at fast mechs I prefer my cent 9D for that and it seems they take the same engines.

My fast Cent9D http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4809f1b942bd685
And a 3c treb same speed/armor/weapons+2ml http://mwo.smurfy-ne...45bf6fd787531fa
  • My cent 9d is already mastered.
  • Its hitboxes are better.
  • You can lose the mg arm and the shield arm and keep on trucking on a cent even with an xl where an armless 3c treb hunter would lose 3ml and one srm if both arms go and would be left with a single ml and one ssrm2.
  • With 4 energy the treb runs so much hotter while the cent can shoot all day

The treb needs a unique bonus to lrms to be seen again in numbers I think.

Yes I too rn a 140 KPH cent 9D but the htboxes have been changed a little so they are fairly similar they are roughly the same size aswell. What I hated about the cent was the MGs I didnt mind them so much but the arm itself was blown off far easier than even a trebuchets arms. The trebuchet also feels more agile IMO.

Bought some phoenix mecha and been grinding cbills with the Ilya, but took up the challenge of this thread and am fielding my three trebs again. They do just fine for me but are a bit on the tall side :)

These days added bonus of the "Oh my GOD a TREB!" type comments.

5J, 7M and 3C here.

Where the HBK is being replaced by the Shadowhawk so has the Trebuchet been replaced by the Kintaro.

It doesn't take a psychic to know there will be some mech chassis are DOA or will go extinct as soon as another mech shows up.

I actually have just did this with my founders HB. Two lasers instead of 3, an AC/20, better speed and jump jets. Sad it had to be replaced by the Shadowhawk.

The 7m makes a solid LRM skirmisher. Really though - that's about all a treb can do that other mechs can't do better - and LRM skirmishers are a rare breed.
