[Homeless Bill]

I need another set of eyes. All I can see is a Timber Wolf, but I'm having a hard time believing they would have that modeled and ready-to-go. What else could make that silhouette Apparently, I somehow missed that they said they had one Clan 'mech ready to go, so this all makes perfect sense.

At this point, I'm pretty much 100% certain it's a Timber Wolf. This image was found on mechwarriorclans.com when someone wanted to take that domain but it was already taken. He snooped around the usual directories and found several pictures in the images directory. The rest of the album can be found here.

The heroic lurker then contacted me to see what I thought. While I was initially skeptical, the fact that IGP owns the domain, their immediate-removal response, and Niko's posts all point to teaser images of the Clan invasion that weren't supposed to be up yet.

To those saying it was an intentional leak, it's feasible but entirely unlikely. This particular lurker's posting history does not show any signs of sneaky IGP. Plus, why would they contact me instead of just making a throwaway and putting it up? I can hope this was a super-ninja leak by them, but I highly doubt it.

Looks pretty close to a Timber Wolf to me. The art department has been the only ones that have been able to make their deadlines so far. So they very well could have built and modeled the Timber Wolf and the only thing keeping them from mentioning it is that they have not set up the rules for how the clans will work yet.

Edit: The arms look to be the only things that do not match up with the Timber Wolf but that could just be ballistic weapon pods.

I have a very hard time picturing this turning into that shadow. The upper arm of the shadow looks too skinny, there's no missile pod, the arm cannon doesn't stick out far enough, and the shoulders on the Griffin aren't nearly as boxy as the resulting shadow.

I think it's a griffin too. Look at the top of the center torso, you can see the antenna from the griffon.

The shoulders do look a bit like the mauler, but those arm shadows look more like the Thug...

Some lurker on reddit messaged me with a link to http://mechwarriorclans.com/images/ (again, they took the directory down after I started posting this). It had a bunch of ghetto shots of River City, but this one stood out because of the odd silhouette.

In my defense, I was initially skeptical that it was actually the Timber Wolf and wanted to see if anyone had a better guess at what could cast that shadow. Having said that, I was also fully prepared for a thread jettison and temporary ban (no one would be crazy enough to permaban me over this). The Timber Wolf is worth it.

Why does reddit get to have the goodies but the official forums don't =[
