Star Citizen has had more time than MWO. MWO had a very rushed early life. It was barely a year into development when it was forced out the door. That is amazing for any game. BOth officially start development in 2011. I'd say MWO has gotten more done in that time.

You know, I keep hearing this excuse for bad game after bad game after bad game, and every time I hear it, it rings less and less true. Nobody held a gun to PGI's head and told them to sell out to a publisher - they chose who to work with, so it's their fault when it doesn't end well. "You have to give them credit!" I don't have to give them anything when they released too early with ****** hit detection for months and months, lied about P2W intentions (coolant flush debacle), lied about CW, and are now clearly only out to get as much cash from as many suckers as they can before the game dies.

Having a broken game that fewer people play every day isn't "amazing" for any length of dev time.

It'll be my distinct pleasure to join with you and your fellow Elsies to kick some Snakes in the teeth. And the Cappies always need some Autocannon therapy.

As for the FedCom Civil War, well, time enough for that as soon as we wipe out all these vat-babies. :)

Thanks. I can use the company... B-)

Actually, Dihm I'm confused by your statement. MWO doesn't have a hanger you can run around in. It has a crappy windowed UI with no immersion what so ever. What has MWO done for organizations other than forums? What tools do that have for clans and guilds? Star Citizen is in pre-alpha, and in a month or two when their organization tools and dog fighting test comes out they will have MORE to do then MWO does now. Ponder that one for a minute. You might actually *gasp* be able to pick the people you play against!

That's to say nothing of their ultimate goal. A full MMO with a full single player game attached, with *gasps again* an in game STORY! At least they both have a third person view. That's the one thing they have in common.

Errr... that was my point? Maybe I was coming across too sarcastic. But we're on the same page. :)

Not even defending the packages, just calling people out on their idiocy. Bunch of man children.

How about the 2 years of feedback people have given since the closed beta that has never got much of a hearing from PGI?

When have the lied about CW? As far as I recall they've had the same plan the entire time, Just things took longer than expect which IS expected to happen during game development. I'm looking at you Dogfight module that was delay in SC.

Okay. This was in another thread, but...

Now, here's my actual feedback on the sale itself.

PGI, given the way this is set up, I believe that the first four and the second four should be split into two separate groups.

Group one, Kitfox, Nova, Summoner, Dire Wolf. 120 for package.
Group two, Adder, Ryoken, Timber Wolf, Masakari. 120 for package.
Gets the same price, 240, for both. But in its current state, you have to pay 150 to get the group I titled group one, + a 35 ton mech. (Seriously?)

This lets players choose between two separate tiers to climb up, for example if I bought 60 dollars in to each of the two groups, I could have Kitfox and Nova + Adder and Ryoken. Or what if I wanted the Adder and Summoner? I could pay 90 into group one, and only 30 into group two.

Please split it into two tiers to climb.

I love this idea. It's very odd to have to climb through 150$ ladder for a light mech.

How has the news changed though?

It was stated that they were going to release a mech a month, they are just allowing you to purchase a package like other packages (minus Founders, as that was a different way they sold those).

To be fair... you make a reasonable point. There isn't really anything saying that they can't do both CW and release more mechs.

But if we are honest with ourselves, there is more at play here than that.

I'm all for keeping MWO profitable, but the timing of this mech release seems... very poorly planned... to put it nicely.

Timing is everything. I hate to bring Star Citizen up again, but it is a good example of perfect timing. Introducing Clan Mechs for purchase now is incredibly POOR timing. Add to the fact that there is still a severe misunderstanding of how the Clan Mechs will actually be balanced. This is a massive pitfall of PGI's own making.

Sure, you can argue the decision is ultimately up to the buyer, but that ignores the perception this act is giving.

As I've said before, PGI is giving the impression to many that they are essentially "putting the cart before the horse"... habitually. Maybe if this was the first misstep, there wouldn't be so much vitriol. But let's be fair, this isn't their first misstep.

I can't stress it enough that I want MWO to be successful, but the decisions they have been making recently have not given me much confidence.

By their own actions, they are giving me the distinct feeling that a few powerful voices in PGI/IGP do not understand what their customers actually want. That can be disastrous for any company.

The only solution I can think of to turn this around is more candid discussions about community warfare and private matchmaking.... and doing it asap.

The bonus module for the gold mechs will be an anti-laughter system, to reduce mitigate point-and-laugh attacks

Okay, will do! We're expecting a response soon on if they'll release the DFM or if they'll wait a little bit and do it later. Still on schedule for 2015 launch. Oh, another new patch coming next week and the patch yesterday got client-side persistence into the Hanger.

Sounds like they are going to postpone it til January so they can make it multiplayer. December release was single player only I think.

Hit detection was horrible. Power armor was over powered. The weapons were not balanced and the net code was not working half the time. Tag works the same as MWO. Repair in a match that was instant. Over powered clan weaponry yeah that's fun. It was a mess that's why it was a ghost town.

Hot detection works.
Infantry suits get killed in 1 hit by any mech weapon, they can also be stepped on or run over. The clan weaponry is available to both sides.
On a fundamental level, the TAG in MWLL functions differently than the tag in MWO, you would know if you ever tagged anything in MWLL.
It is fun, it’s totally free, the developers don’t make cash grabs, and since PGI wont tell us how many people are actually playing every day there is no way to know if MWO is getting more players.

Nice try PGI, but I dont understand why you keep using you alt accounts.

For people saying PGI sold out to their publisher IGP.

Not true, the people running IGP are the friends of the people running PGI.

IGP was created to publish MWO. Effectively IGP/PGI same entity.

You have money? Buy it.

You don't have money? Don't buy it.

End of story.

This game will be funded off the backs of financial supporters.

PGI cannot simply ask for donations. They have to sell us something in exchange for financial support.

Thanks for all your hard work, please keep on truckin' PGI, I know you can do it!

you know I was ok paying 120-180 for packs but 240 for the highest tier and only 90 days of preimum time this is out of control. Further more did you devs not promise this game would not become pay to win?

What is up with unique modules or your Gold 500 dollar mechs? that is pay to win and not only that your prices are so high and outragous at this point this announcement did more to upset me then get me hyped about MWO.

No UI 2.0 No CW but we damn sure as hell can milk the community for some scratch~

oh gawd.... umm you did notice the june 2014 date right? we are getting cw and ui 2.0 before june of 2014.
