My thoughts? You are getting greedy because of your investors or shareholders (probably a bank or fonds). By charging 500 USD for a virtual item, you irritate people.

Bust most of all, if you charge so much money, you need to bring a counterperformance. High price for low service is not going to work. Your performance is pretty low atm, no CW, no metagame, no space map, no planetary invasion.......

This costs an arm and leg!!!! Why are you so greedy? This is crazy, silly, irrational, out of whack!!!!

Then I don't have arm to play this game anymore!!!!

Thanks for proving my point?

How does this prove your point? Did you read the quote?

The one exception is the Community Warfare pillar which is a complex system but extremely important. In not wanting to delay the game, logic dictates it be added post-launch. Once fans are completely familiar with creating their 'Mech and pilot trees, the depth of Community Warfare will be added, with the core of the community experience projected to be in-game within 90 days of open beta.

You just have to look at my youtube and see my MWLL videos from early beta. I did play and it did have those problems. I stopped playing when 3067+ tech came into the picture.

PGI,
Why are you talking about the early beta stage of a mod that has been released for months?
How about its current state? Because MWLL's current gameplay is a sight better than MWO in its post launch state.

Thanks,
Hoaggie

Timing is everything. I hate to bring Star Citizen up again, but it is a good example of perfect timing. Introducing Clan Mechs for purchase now is incredibly POOR timing. Add to the fact that there is still a severe misunderstanding of how the Clan Mechs will actually be balanced. This is a massive pitfall of PGI's own making.

I couldn't agree more.

From the quote above your quote.

The big questions is how will clan and inner sphere mechs interact? Can I bring the clan mech in to fight for the Liao, for example? How will all of that work? It's awfully early to be announcing these. I'm not touching this until the explanations come out to the open.

I would expect a command chair post soon. I think it should have come alongside this announcement but preferably before the clan mech announcement.

There has been no feedback, just a bunch of whining. The actual feedback is buried

It is, unfortunately. But here was some genuine feedback as well as a request to split the clan mech tier into two tiers of four to allow people easier access to the Adder (150 dollars to reach a 35 ton mech?).

Yawn. You'll get my money after I see a working CW implementation. Before that No Go.
For all you vatborn scums out there, be happy and enjoy your supremacy next year.

Pricing is fine btw. no problem there for me at least. 10 bucks per mech? Deal!
And if someone really wanna be the prime target of every game and want to pay up 500 Bucks for that? So be it ^^

70 pages of posts and we still haven't got the obligatory movie ticket price comparison to convince us that this is amazing value for money, what's going on.
Let's have some movie ticket economics.

That is not a promise, but a projection. Projections are known to be off. Taking a projection as a promise is software development is just asking yourself to be upset.

Lets not forget that all the clanmechs without jumpjets are pretty much useless in the current end-game meta.

And which ones have ECM?

Other than the fact that I said that development was longer than they expected cause that's what happens in game development. So yeah you proved what I said.

http://mwomercs.com/...eveloper-update

Come Aug 7th when the patrons of the Founder’s Program gain access, the game will still be in Closed Beta 2, with on-going patches added every 2 weeks; therefore, not every feature we have discussed on the web site will be playable. We expect to have each of the features we have announced and discussed on the website (with one exception), in the game by the Open Beta date (which cannot yet be announced other than Summer 2012). (Open beta actually went from Jan '13-Sep '13?)

Really?

Edit: If they were just "projecting" this, then why are they JUST NOW starting on CW? We haven't seen anything yet of CW besides vague "we're kinda thinking about this and that, or maybe that".

To be fair... you make a reasonable point. There isn't really anything saying that they can't do both CW and release more mechs.

But if we are honest with ourselves, there is more at play here than that.

I'm all for keeping MWO profitable, but the timing of this mech release seems... very poorly planned... to put it nicely.

Sure, you can argue the decision is ultimately up to the buyer, but that ignores the perception this act is giving.

As I've said before, PGI is giving the impression to many that they are essentially "putting the cart before the horse"... habitually. Maybe if this was the first misstep, there wouldn't be so much vitriol. But let's be fair, this isn't their first misstep.

I can't stress it enough that I want MWO to be successful, but the decisions they have been making recently have not given me much confidence.

By their own actions, they are giving me the distinct feeling that a few powerful voices in PGI/IGP do not understand what their customers actually want. That can be disastrous for any company.

The only solution I can think of to turn this around is more candid discussions about community warfare and private matchmaking.... and doing it asap.

I agree with you, although given a past statement about forum users being the vocal minority, the only real way to get any kind of response is to encourage every player to use the forums to address these things.

I want this game to succeed as much as anyone else here (if not more hazardously so), it had been way too long for a MechWarrior game to come back out.

As this is an ongoing game being continuously developed, I have more faith in it. I can only stress that people give them more time.

How much more time? 5 more years in my eyes, as that is when they initially announced a Mechwarrior come back, albeit it was for a reboot of the series, but Harmony Gold's cease and desist for the WarHammer model in the trailer showed me that they have way too many hurdles and too many lawyers to go through, IGP itself can very well be giving PGI headaches for their funding of MechWarrior Tactics.

There is just too much involved that we are not seeing.

Give them more time if you can, if not, I understand, and maybe they do as well.

It is not a requirement to buy or continue to play, to at least drop in a match once a weel to show, "Hey, I'm with you guys through thick and thin".

I feel they could use the morale boost and loyalty.

The Adder is behind a 120$ pay wall. If there was an option to get it for 30$ like that other mech (the one I don't care about) I would spend 30$ on this game to get it.

Paywalls have lost you my payment. Good Job.

In case anyone was wondering, the only 2 I care about from this collection are the Adder and Timberwolf, so why should I have to pay through so many mechs (AKA paywalls) I don't want in order to get them?

Make it easier for me to give you money PGI.
