Ya know....I've been standing up for you guys for almost 2 years, and I just can't do it anymore. No CW, no UI 2.0, and then you bring THIS out, before we even get our reinforcement pack from the LAST set of expensive paperweights you sold us? All of which totaled TWO competitive play mechs...IN THE SAME CHASSIS...the rest are just {Scrap}.
Add in the Oxide..what a joke. Are you TRYING to alienate your player base? Because if that's what you're trying, you're doing a d@mn good job. CongoRats.

Well, I will see when the sell ends and buy or not just before; depending on how cw is doing.

Give us a persistent universe so we get to chose which planets we want to assault and fit accordingly.
Not likely to happen though so yes, stuck with endless rotations.
What's funny is that I vaguely remember from the books that that's what they DID do. Or at least the clanners with their Omni-mechs. Why wouldn't you take a cooler running mech to Mordor rather than hope your laser boat doesn't explode after the first shot?

Ryvucz, I respect your opinion. But would you drive a Ford Pinto just because it was humans who were doing their job designing and building it? No, you buy a car that won't get you killed. It's an extreme example but I think it's fitting. I have no personal animosity towards any of the people that work at PGI. But I'm not responsible for helping them keep their jobs. That is NOT a good reason buy and support a product. MWO no longer deserves our trust or our support. They have spent a year prioritizing all of the wrong things. We don't want more maps, we want more game styles. I think we would rather have the ability to play against our friends when we want, then get a few new mechs every couple of months. They made 3rd person view a priority OVER UI 2.0, which, if they had a competent programming team, would probably have been easier to design and implement.
It's just not worth it man, as much as we all love the universe.
I've been shot at for doing what I believe in, you'd be surprised.
I can appreciate different views, but ever since their initial press release they were bringing the MechWarrior title back from Microsoft, I had decided then, to show support, insane or not, until the end.
I just hope, the end won't be for a very long time.
I admire them for taking the reins of a franchise that was run into the ground over lawsuits and idle corporate roosting.
To boldly claim to do what they want (yes, targeted deadlines have been missed a lot, I blame lack of man power) and begin working on it and giving it to the public to either embrace or spit out.
They keep working. They could have folded a year ago after several failed deadlines. But they refuse to give up.
I do not feel that they are just trying to get money before they fold. I've seen less of them playing the game, which to me, means they are doing more work and less socialization.
If you look at the launch party footage, and how Mr. Ekman talks about the planned features (yes, they plan it, it may not make it-speculation-debatable) with such passion, how can anyone just stop support, I know what he wants, I know the team (PGI) knows what they want.
Maybe I just need to take my medication and fall asleep, or just, hope people stop giving up on them.
Think I'm talking in circles at this point.

Hounding them won't help things, no matter your intentions.
Seriously though did you just compare developing MechWarrior Online, at a mall in Canada, to military service? What the hell is wrong with your brain?

It's not because of that...it's because all the sh*t they dropped on us since closed beta... I supported this game since the begining trusting on them. I supported this game buying stupid things a few more times.
Nowdays HSR is still broken and DX11 was supposed to released during CLOSED BETA. A huge amount of nerfs came along with those because ppl were to bad to survive and so on...
Ppl made meetings in the past.. round tables and **** to find a way to get to the devs and they ignored everyone, killed the competitive community and.... well this will go on and on over and over again. I wont be part of it
Ooooh I forgot to say that my ELO went so high up that I cannot longer play the mechs I like to play alone... I need a group or else I will fail to find a match everytime (for at least 15-20 min). xD
On a side note if your ELO is that high it would suggest you have no real challenges left playing the game no matter what mech or new feature they introduce.

Traditionally, I have instead had the luxury of an office environment with whiteboards, access to electronic calendars and planning tools.
I do see your point though, and we need to take the warzone environment into consideration with MWO. The constant mortar attacks probably have taken their toll on programmer morale. PGI should just suck up the increased labor costs, and get the hell out of Afghanistan. Maybe rent a nice suite in a mall in quiet, clean, safe Canada?
The point was lack of man power...
And I did not mean to portray it as a battle field, but more of a Garrison to fix the [REDACTED] so it can be used.
But hey, different views.

Honestly, it's been a good year for me. Moved into a new job that's paying me well more than I was making, finances are solidly in the black, got to go to the MWO launch party, and like I said it's been a real good year for me. So I decided, what the hell, let's treat myself to something nice:
See you on the battlefield!

So, people keep saying, "you don't understand software development!"
A big part of software development, especially in an Agile/Iterative environment, is managing your resources. You don't commit to your customer that you'll have certain features in certain Iterations, only to constantly overshoot.
Project management has been horrible.

I can respect this but I am used up. I don't believe in them anymore. I wish I did. With that I will drag my sorry butt to bed. Goodnight to everyone...even you Ryvucz... ;-)
