Wow... no more until I see the other content that was promised.

This is insane. I hope you pay attention PGI because it looks like the majority of feedback for this shameless cash grab is negative. Way to mess up a great franchise!

I'll keep playing for now, if only to make sure you have to pay for the power and cooling to keep the servers running.

I haven't really been disappointed with this game until now. Just seeing the Clan thing pop on screen made me say "Oh No! Really?!?!?!" That gold mech thing is a joke.

Come on PGI, work on the gameplay, new maps, CW, the list goes on and on.

Definitely not throwing any more money at this thing until I see some progress and new mechs are not progress.

All I can say is that I've been a good little sheep up till now (see the patches below my name), and even this is not enough to scare me off from the franchise completely, but there is no way on earth i am getting a gold mech unless I hit the lottery or something (in which case I might try to buy out PGI and force them to remove Ghost heat... and implement an Urbanmech).

1st: I don't care about the price. If someone doesn't want, he does not have to pay.
2nd: I care about the content of the game. And that's my problem with PGI...

There have always been cheap and ready promises like these:

View PostMal, on 13 December 2013 - 05:42 PM, said:

Copying from Russ' twitter, where he's addressed some of the questions I've seen here:

Few people asking why we would sell these before x features are released the answer:
1) keep in mind that every program thus far has delivered what was sold, founders, phoenix, etc. what was sold was delivered.
2) many featuers like UI 2.0 and launch module as well as otherslike achievements and many others will release BEFORE these clan mechs hit
3) when these clan mechs hit players will have everything needed to support them like tech balancing including weight restricted mm

But the reality is that not only many promised releases like CW have NOT happened, even more than a year after it has been promised to be released. Similar story with many others. Reality is that everybody buying clan now would be buying a "black clan box", as nobody has the least of knowledge how much PGI will f-up the Clan Equipment for what they consider "balancing" to IS - so a Timber Wolf might easily turn out as a sick neutered puppy in the end. Reality is that even important core stuff of the game like freakin' hit detection is STILL A MESS.

This "offer" is less of a cash grab than an outright insult to the community, if you ask me.

To anyone considering buying these packs. Don't buy it thinking that the money will go to good use and we'll see an expansion of the Dev team. Or that we'll get more content then usual. Because no where does it say that. People stop assuming that supporting the game with these packages equals a better game. We have NO idea where these funds go or how they help the game beyond continuing the usual operations.

If you're considering buying any of these packs. Only consider what they're actually selling you. Not what you feel you're owed by purchasing it.

With that said. I was hysterical with laughter when I first saw this. My words to my brother sitting nearby "They're out of their minds!" with a laugh. I honestly couldn't believe it. Then I scrolled down to the Gold mech part. I blew a fuse and had trouble processing what I was reading. Like the package could almost be construed as reasonable when compared to the Pheonix pack. But the gold mech part just seems disgustingly greedy.

I honestly feel bad for the die hard fans who will probably shell out for this.

You couldn't have capped it at the first 4 packages, with the option to select any of the last 4 mech packages? At least let people save a little money! How ruthless. : /

Yeah, because they don't have at least half a year to buy in...

Gold mechs are a pretty good idea, though they'd likely make far more profit at lower prices. Anything that is purely cosmetic is a good thing. (Though a super-reflective mech is not going to fare well on any map.)

The packages seem to be pretty reasonable. However, unless everything is also made available for cbills very shortly after we'll have a bit of a problem. With eight mechs being released months apart it will be a year or more until everything is available for cbills. If you could choose your mech when buying a package (as with the founders packages), this would be fine. But you can't. A delay of a month or two from paid to free content is reasonable. A delay of a year or more and you may as well make the clans MC only.

Okay sure:

How about this little gem from December 9th, 2011:

http://www.pcgamer.c...e-inner-sphere/

There will be three types of world in MechWarrior Online. Core Worlds will belong to the devs. Major story events will happen on these worlds, and they can't be claimed by players. Faction Worlds can be taken, though. "Rewards for controlling these planets are directly linked to global bonuses and abilities associated with a player’s Faction," write Piranha. They've also posted a huge map of the Inner Sphere. Here it is:

This hasn't even BEGUN TO BE CODED YET!

And then there is this little interview with Bryan Erkman from October 2011:

http://www.pcgamer.c...ves-the-series/

A key part of this interview:
So the minute this game goes live, every day that passes in our world, it passes live in the Inner Sphere world. So August 1st 2012 is August 1st, 3049. And so we had a live content stream with a live, evolving universe going on as time progresses. We wanted to set it during that period of time because there's a lot of change. The Clans come down, they invade, there's the introduction of new technology. There's lots of story pieces that are happening, and lots of territory change.

Please explain to me where this "evolving universe" is exactly?

And thirdly the Offical Developer Update before the game went into OPEN BETA:

http://mwomercs.com/...eveloper-update

The one exception is the Community Warfare pillar which is a complex system but extremely important. In not wanting to delay the game, logic dictates it be added post-launch. Once fans are completely familiar with creating their 'Mech and pilot trees, the depth of Community Warfare will be added, with the core of the community experience projected to be in-game within 90 days of open beta.

The open beta commenced on October 29, 2012 and here we are now 410 days since the open beta commenced and 87 days past the game "release" I think it is again worth reiterating COMMUNITY WARFARE STILL HASN'T EVEN STARTED DEVELOPMENT.

If you need some more examples I will be happy to provide them.

Stop responding to it him/her. They'll just find another half fried excuse to keep you occupied. You don't get a title like that by being open to logic.

Exactly... they keep saying the features will be implemented, but they're not what you're buying. They could just give you the mechs and that's it. What I say is: implement the features, then we'll talk cash.

Yeah. I guess some people have plenty of disposable income that they can save over the next few months. $210 for a Madcat, no big deal.

Yep. But it's interesting how many people have Founders and Phoenix badges. This is PGI's paying customer base talking.

Exactly, if you have the money, buy it. If not, wait for the CBill version. Just like with EVERY other mech.
