I am seeing some progress but it is very, very slow and when it does come out it usually seems to be buggy. I purchased the Phoenic pack in the hopes it would fund PGI to make a better game and possibly hire some staff that know what they are doing... So far I cant see it, all I see is more and more mech sales at even more ridiculous prices than before.

Tell you what PGI, honest just listen for a few seconds.

Stop working on new mechs to sell for 2 months, just 2 months... stop all your ridiculous colour/texture deals and hanging items and all the digital junk you are trying to flog and put all your effort into fixing the game, adding new content and game modes, when you have done that try sell mechs and items after those 2 months when the game actually does look like it is going somewhere and you might be surprised to see that people will actually start buying more things.

Just take that leap of faith and stop your con tactics, try an honest approach for once and see the reaction.

I wrote a long thoughtful post comparing PGI to Games Workshop, and explaining how Games Workshop knows what it is doing in regard to game design. Then I realized it was severely TL:DR and cut it down to "Thank you PGI for showing me the error of my ways and convincing me to put my $240 into my Warhammer 40k Imperial Fists." Once again, thank you for helping me to recognize which hobby company actually holds to promised releases and releases them... on time! To that company shall go my money. Now where did I put the phone order number for Games Workshop again?

Even as I posted an alternate model (more similar to PP+Saber Pack model), I got over the "shock" of the pricing.

If we consider the MC price of normal mechs (with XL engines and Endo/FF) and IS-Hero-mechs, we get a lot of mech for our money, even if considering same prices as IS mechs.
If you then consider Clanmechs beeing 20-30% more expensive... you get the Idea. ;)

Here is what I used for rough numbers:
- IS Hero mechs use 75MC /Ton
- If we expect Clanmechs to have 25% higher MC price that would turn into 93.75MC/Ton
- Non-Hero prices here are close to current mechs, or just a couple hundreds less than the Hero prices.

That's the "second wave" money: Clan mechs will be better than IS ones even after PGI's silly nerfs, and they will cost tons more to reflect that. So get ready to re-grind your entire garage or optionally give up at that point.

Haven't played for months. Haven't once played with any of the phoenix mechs that I paid 100 plus dollars for. I think the mech scaling really drove me nuts for the phoenix mechs, I just got disgusted and stopped playing. Noticed this a week ago. Considered coming back, but now I'm done. Can't take it anymore, the shear amount of cost for these packages is just unreal and those promised features that were supposed to be out this summer and kept getting pushed back are getting pushed back another year. Nope, not doing it. Maybe I'll check back in the summer or a year from now. Its a shame, because I love BT and MW.

Plus outside of how dumb the price is, gold mech skins are just a dumb idea. Your breaking lore completely with something like that. Clanners would never be so flashy.

Its my opinion, maybe you should care less about how I feel and worry about yourself. I'm not bashing PGI, in fact I like most of the guys on the dev team. Played in matches with them. I'm just stating that I'm not going to play or spend the money for packages.

Thats why this is a "Feedback Thread"

Do you realize that sentences like this are more damaging to PGI than "hater talk"?

Let me give you an example from a Star Wars MMO i used to like.
It wasnt ready and the Producing Team wasnt able to fix it. "Defenders" like you said to everyone: " leave if you dont like it":
After 3 server merges and realizing i was an subscriber of an F2P title i am thankfully to see guys like you destroying a game more than any critic could do better. ;)

It seems some people dont understand that games like F2P/MMOs need a stable playerbase to survive if not making real profit.
Everyone who leaves is a significant profit loss.

With your attidude it seems you want PGI to shot it down more than the hardest critics in this community.

PGI ? More like PGHIGH !! As in your prices are way too HIGH. When did a paint job translate to $500 ?? Who came up with that number and who agreed it was a reasonable amount ? Just plain old greed, isn't new in any business. I want to support the MechWarrior IP. My only wish now is that PGI (Pure Greed Inc.) didn't hold rights to it.

Again they are missing the main point. For the golden boys it's not about costs - it's about status.

What PGI is selling with those golden mechs are labels which scream "f you plebs, I'm better richer than you". All thanks to that golden paint job.

They should heed the warnings posted in this thread and change the skins before it's too late. Then again, doing so would alienate the elitist bunch which seems to be their targeted market group.

My experince with the last 'Pack' of mechs makes me very hesitant to buy this one. I sold off two of the Locusts, as they were just about worthless except for lols and trolling or whatever the kids call it these days. Grinding the Thunderbolts to mastery was painful in the current meta. Two of the Battlemasters are ok, but I'd rather be in an Atlas. Only the BLR-1S brings a smile to my face. The Shadowhawks are fun and engaging, but that only brings the number to four out of twelve mechs that have signifcant value to me.

So when I look at the $240 for X number of mechs, I think there's maybe 6-8 mechs in there that are going to float my boat. That's not $10 a mech, that's closer to $40.

I'm starting to see a lot of value in letting the early adopters grind themselves to death on everything and then cherry picking those mechs that have deservedly earned high praise. I don't have a whole lot of time for this game, so when I do play, I don't want to have a grinding experince on 66% of the mechs that I'll never continue to play.

This is a little better but the pricing is still way up there. $55 if ya buy one mech at a time. Granted I've bought both of the packages in the past but with all the up roar I'm holding off on purchasing all of the clan mechs. I was think'n about purchasing one or two at a time with this new offer, but heck, I'm use to buy'n a whole game for $55...not just an add on here and there.

Don't get me wrong, I realize PGI is a business. They have family and bills to take care of just like most of us (some of you younger players don't have to worry about those kind'a things...yet). Some of the gripes that gave been voiced have been very childish and some very understandable. My point is I personally think it would have been a better business decision to market the mechs at a lower cost to increase sales. Use Sam Walton's notion of "a fast moving nickle is better than a slow moving dime". They'd probably sell 4x as many mechs for $25 and still make more money. It's not like they have a physical supply that they have to replenish every time they sell one. Just my $.0000000001 worth. After all Sam's idea did create a retail giant...
