I am both insanely happy to see this content coming and terribly confused about it.
In fact so confused that this is the first post I made on this forum. ever.
we just spent our 80$ on the Pheonix package, all the while hoping that the sudden influx of cash would enable you to put the work into the game that it needs really badly. And yes, thats definitely UI 2.0, thats directx11 and the CW that we have been waiting for for a year now, and we really havent seen much more then a powerpoint slide worth of info.
In August I would have never guessed it would take you until christmas to deploy these features, and now as christmas is approaching, I am pretty certain we wont be seing any of it this year.
And then you announce the clan packages... no info on the Mechs, no real Info on the Clan Tech implementation but a new Pricing range... Every Mech Chassis will cost us 10 §.... and the first packages dont even have premium time attached. Ok, you get the mech bays, but seriously, 10 $ per Chassis ? Thats actually beyond what I would ever spend for a single ingame item. I spend a lot if money on video games and virtual stuff, and the fact that you have managed to crack my threshhold, well thats impressive ... and disturbing, Why do you think the Pheonix packages where such a huge success for you guys ? Because the prices , Mech Bays, Premium and the 12 Mechs made somehow sense. If you factored in the premium time and the bays, the mechs themself weren that expensive.. this however is no longer true for the clan packages....
I mind you to do two things. Really consider your pricing stragey and your communication strategy. The community is already up in arms about UI 2.0, CW, Matchmaking etc... At least give us some meaningful Updates on those topics. Right now you just come across very commercial, as if you celebrated the pheonix success and are now trying to find out what you can get away with whilst maxing out profits... Listen to your players...
Cheers, Torrn

It simply isn't when it's literally just a bunch of new mechs being released. No-one will be strictly Clan or IS unless they play their own made up meta game among friends to try and pretend that there is more than a simple deathmatch to this game.
Without CW as a foundation there is no substance or purpose to the clans. They are literally just some new mechs using well loved designs to make it seem exciting. I want to be proven wrong here more than I can even express but so far I can see no difference in this "Clan invasion" than I can in the phoenix package.

You wait till it gets released for Cbills. Cranted I do think they should allow purchases of single mech packages.

1. How will CW work with Clan mechs and tech for Merc Units? E.g., can I use Clan mechs in a CW campaign? Etc.
2. What is the unique module on the Khan variants? How will it affect gameplay? Will it become necessary?
3. Balance, balance, balance. You've made mention of how balance will be played out with Clan tech (thank you), but I need to see data/examples. Granted, you may not be ready to share this, but that leads me to my next point:
I really think you guys pulled the trigger too early on this. I understand you're getting in the holiday spirit here hoping for some Christmas gifting to happen, but we've given you a bunch of money and still don't have everything we're hoping to play.
I'm still hangin' on here and being patient. Don't leave me there and let me give you money.

TL;DR:
Disregarding the inherent differences and inequalities between different Mech models and weight classes, $10 a piece is a really good deal; unfortunately, the pricing standards applied to the packages are all too reminiscent of Phoenix and they seem to force users to purchase more expensive packages in order to access not only the most competitive 'Mechs available but also the best deals money-wise.
That is intentional, of course, and though I can see where the marketing team might have been trying to go with that decision, I'm still severely turned off by it. This is a harsh, anti-user and money-exhorting promotion.
I admit I'm a bit disappointed to see that those responsible haven't learned anything since the times of Operation Inception; in fact, their decisions with regards to user interaction have only gone backwards since then, even though 'Mech prices seem to have been revisited and decreased, which is a good thing - possibly the only positive aspect of MWO's new marketing and business direction.
Finally, the creation of those pricey gold 'Mechs easily constitutes in the most questionable business decision concerning MWO since the game's inception. I can't say a single good thing about it. Overall, this Operation Revival could probably have had a better start, to say the very least. I don't think I'll take part in it, sadly.
And that's it for my feedback. Hopefully the next decision concerning this game's future will be one I can agree with. If it's not, I'll just continue to watch from a distance and log in to play on occasion.

Exactly what I have been saying. The only good news is that all the Clan players can still use their IS mechs as well.

Nope nope and no. this won't save the community, a mech is a mech, nothing special about it. the meta will remain unchanged, stale, boring until PGI finally release something WORTHY for the rest of us....something that is called different modes of play.... namely something along the lines of 5 different modes should be a start and a welcome change.

Dear PGI,
do you know how hard it is to make $210?
Holy ****. I was hoping the top package would be $80 just like Phoenix, or even $120. Was not expecting $210. No clan package for me.
