http://mwomercs.com/...ill-unresolved/

So many of these issues, especially the lack of lag compensation and a non-working matchmaker, unresolved for 1.5 years since closed beta started.

And here you are, trying to sell $500 gold mech packages. Unbelivable. This is the very definition of shameless. This is a giant slap in the face of every one of your players.

Instead of fixing the core game, all you do is push expensive mech packages and hero/champion mechs that are a complete ripoff.

It's like Microsoft and Vista all over again, but Microsoft actually made windows 7, while you guys have made....more mechs to sell.

Bottom line, fix the game first, do you just not care how many thousands of players have quit the game in utter disgust because of how broken it is?

You forget Windows ME™ as well. Cept MS made XP and XP LASTED for years.

Maybe PGI should adopt MS's model .... Or maybe they pulled a MS on this one....

What are the unique bonus modules?

What is a warhorn?

Eight new mechs and only one is a light? What is the matter with you?

Then why did you have multiple responses to the single announcement? Your ultimate feedback was provided in your very first post right?

PGI asked once.
Then let the mods deal with it and heed your own advice by posting a single time.

I dearly hope this is for raising money to somehow buy the Marauder and Archer and friends off of HG? Right?

PGI, I fail to see how this can work unless you have a lot, A LOT, of die-hard money-printing fans.

See, I'm a casual fan of battletech. I barely know the story, grew up playing the PC games and all and liking the experience. I was eager to see the Mad Cat/Timber Wolf, if only because of nostalgia. I'm playing your game and trying to convince friends to join in, because hey, big robots, lasers, what could go wrong?

I know the game is free and that cash is needed for its development, but HOLY. {Scrap}.

You're not Wow, with its immense popularity and massive communities. Last time I checked, Wow charges 15$/month for a fully developped game. A quick search on their forums has a thread saying that the complete game, with all expansions, is 120$. We're talking around 300 bucks for the first year of gameplay, available the instant I install the whole game.

Right now, you're asking me to pay 210$ for the mech I want... delivered in 6 months. Sure, I get a few other mechs out of the deal, but I do not want them. That's like trying to sell me a truck while I'm in the market for wheels. Compare to WoW, a fully completed game, active communities, lots of in-game content, with expansions, which costs 300$.

And even if I pay that absurd amount of money, I get to use it in a somewhat limited game. Two game modes who are, let's be honest, kinda similar. Useless factions. No story, no missions, no immersion, heck, even the UI is sad. What I liked about Battletech was that I could customize stuff and fiddle around with all chassis and weapons in the mechlab and then test it on the field. Now, I have to grind for tedious amounts of time to just try and do this... or pay money to grind better on a timer or a hero mech. Random PUGs that are often unbalanced. Weapons with faulty hit detection.

At 210$, I'm expecting WoW-level amazement right now.

I'd feel somewhat better if I knew each chassis was available soon after the pre-order for C-bills. But a move like this just reeks of moneygrabbing. Because then, why should I throw so much money for chassis who can be free eventually? Especially if the game encourages me to grind each one of them to maximise their effectiveness?

And don't throw me a "Mechs you buy are there forever" speech. Technology evolves. At some point in 5 to 10 years, the game will become obsolete. I reluctantly bought the Phoenix package, telling myself that 80$ was a worthwile investment for a video game if it lasts the average successful mmo game life. But hundreds of dollars? For a game who has yet to provide ANY CONTENT other than moar mechs?Haha, NO.

TL;DR Capitalism ruins everything. 1/10, would not buy.

this is like going to buy a corvette and being forced to buy every GM model, maybe if each pack was separately sold.i will wait till they sell for c-bills and after you nerf clan weaponry for balance.

So I guess Comstar won the Battle of Tukayyid by unveiling their secret weapons, their own stash of Clan Mechs. *sigh*

My initial thoughts, plus a couple of questions.
On the mechs:

1). The Clan mechs look incredible, excellent work on the art.
2). I can totally understand the Clan tech "nerf" to keep the game balanced, and to be honest was kind of expecting it (not to mention, I'm a Spheroid through and through, so it kind of works in my favor ;) ).
3). For the sheer number of mechs and such you get, I don't think the $240 is too unreasonable necessarily, though I am having a difficult time wrapping my head around the $500 price tag on the Gold pack.
4). If the Gold packs truly are limited, is there anyone out there that doesn't think the Timber Wolf pack sells out first? B)
5). Conversely, is there any actual danger of the Gold Stormcrow pack, for example, selling out before the deadline? B)
6). Okay, I'm kidding a bit on those last two, but still.
7). I honestly think I might try to scrounge up enough for the Masakari pack at some point (sorry, I think the Gold ones are just too rich for my blood here), but I'll intend to pilot them as "salvaged" Clan tech while proudly flying my Davion banner.

Okay, on a slightly more serious note, some actual concerns around things that are pretty dear to my heart, that I've been waiting rather eagerly for.

1). Does this mean we aren't going to get even a glimmer of time spent in an honest to God "Succession Wars" era, and will just be thrown in to the Clan Invasion shortly after Community Warfare is added, or even more potentially disappointingly, along with the addition of CW?
2). Seriously. Just thinking about that makes me sad, since I really wanted some game time to devote to fanatically battling the Concord of Kapteyn Houses with my FedCom allies, before being thrown into begrudgingly allying with them to throw back the Clanners.
3). When all is said and done, I love this IP, this setting, and this game way too much to ragequit or anything of the sort, but I will feel a bit of loss if the above ends up being the case.

Wrapping this all up, overall, the Clan stuff looks cool, and the game is fun, so keep up the good work, and if that good work includes a "Succession Wars mode" or something, I will be completely and totally giddy. Just saying. B)

Rip, I've been uncomfortable fighting with Davions for a while now and relish every Davion kill. I don't think the succession warefare is stricly necessary to build that... tension. LOL However, I do feel more amicable to Davions than the other houses by a long shot. ;)

These prices are a joke PGI. But as for those who are asking why there are different variants of clan Omni-mech. It's simple, they probably pulled away from the Omni function.
Their forcing us to need 3 variants to move up the tree still looks to apply to the Clans too lol. In all fairness, the Timber wolf did have 11 configurations (Prime + 11 other configurations).

I think everything has been said, has been said by the second page. The rest is simply redundant.

SUMMARY

1. The packages are overpriced (nonetheless, i'm sure lots of people will still buy them anyway)

2. Nearly all the forum posters here would be willing to buy in this package, but they don't have faith in the development of this game and the key components that are long overdue. They may reconsider if these pivotal features finally get implemented in the near future.

3. What is a warhorn???

4. What is the unique module???

5. What are the mech hardpoints?

6. How will clan tech compare to IS tech?

1 and 2 are really the big ones.

This... A thousand times this.

Clanners, this is our preview for how they're going to water down the Clans because they can't/won't balance with player numbers in a match. Clan mechs will be the same as IS mechs. Everyone will have access to Clan equipment. Even playing field.... balanced, right?

Right Mr. I?

You already purchased the Warhawk Collection didn't you? :3

Who already purchased the Warhawk Collection? You did! Yes You did! :33 Thats right you did! :33 Dawwww so cute.

PGI has hamstrung all the whiners here with overlord badges.

It brings maximum lols.

My concern is that Timber Wolf cost $210. If it was an Assault Mech like the Executioner or the Gargoyle, it would be fine. However this could cause the people who wanted their "Mad Cats" to get frustrated easily. To avoid this problem, you should lower Timber Wolf's price to $80 since it's a Heavy Mech.

Yeah it's totally a mistake they put the Timberwolf above the Daishi and not a cash grab, contact support so they can upload the corrected diagrams

Perspective.

Kit Fox is 30 bucks. Gold Kit Fox is 500. That's right, chubs! You can own a SKIN for 470 dollars!

WHAT THE FLYING FOXTROT. This is the dumbest thing on the planet, how bout having accessible prices (cause Star Citizen you aren't,) and maybe giving us some info on how they're actually going to work. Better yet, where is CW and a ton of other promised content?

I'm glad I quit, this is sad.
