Hello John Archer,
Short answer yes, but please review the following details regarding the Gold Khan Collection 'Mechs.
Players who purchase a Gold Khan Collection 'Mech are eligible for 1 Masakari package for each Gold Khan Collection 'Mech that is purchased. The Masakari packages can be gifted to another player.
- By default, the Masakari package is credited to the purchasing player's account.
- A gifted Masakari package will not be applied to the purchaser's account.
- The purchaser must indicate to us a valid pilot name that is in good standing as the recipient of the gift.
- The purchaser must agree that we can contact the gift recipient and provide them with the purchaser's pilot name as a reference for who is donating this gift.
- The purchaser must acknowledge that we will not be able to change who benefits from this gift once it has been offered.
- In the event of a billing dispute (i.e. chargeback) all accounts involved will be locked pending a case-by-case investigation.
Once nominated, we will contact the chosen recipient(s) and they will have a period of 7 days to respond.
If they fail to respond or choose to refuse the gift, we will contact the purchaser again to choose another recipient for the gift.

Hi,
I cannot find an answer in the forums regarding this. I have already
purchased the Gold Warhawk package. If I again purchase another 500 dollar
package, (I am going with the Dire Wolf), do I also receive all the rest of
the Clan mechs as I am with my first purchase?
I am hoping that is a resounding yes. It makes a lot of sense unless you
folks are going to discount those that want to purchase multiple gold Clan
mechs.
Lemme know before June ok? :)

Have I mentioned how awesome a guy you are lately John? :)

Joking of course, but your friend that does get it has a good buddy.

Although I imagine that for those that have the money and run a merc or faction corps that would make an awesome contest prize to give one of their members.

Still don't understand why people rage against PGI's different ways to monetize their game. They do need to make a buck from SOMEONE after all, or we don't get to play.

Like pretty much every single in game item, EVERY MECH will be available for cbills, probably a week or so after intro. So if you don't want to spend money, don't. The ONLY item really necessary for advancing to any significant degree are mech bays. And those are cheap, you can buy a little MC at a time and steadily increase your variety of mechs.

Like a lot of people, I don't have much money to drop in to my hobby. So early on I got a $60 Founder's package, and played for over a year. Now I had a bit of extra cash, and I bought a clan mech pack. (Daishi package plus Timberwolf ala carte, if you must know) Because, well, MUST HAZ MADCAT!!!!!!

I enjoy the game a lot, It is developing nicely, and they are working towards logical goals in a sensible fashion They aren't frikkin EA where they can spend a billion dollars on advertising, a small pertcentage of that on a mediocre game, and sell millions of copies through hype. I for one am very glad of that.

As for "Gold" mechs......are you familiar with the term "whale" as it relates to video game customers? This is a group of people who have significant disposable income, and can be enticed in to spending it on shiny things. As long as these things are not "pay to win" items, and gold mechas are merely re-skinned mechs we can all buy, how can anyone be upset with that?

Should you not be gloating over the fact that you can play the SAME mech, minus the "kill me first!" skin, for nothing more than in game currency which is easily attainable? Those customers support a LOT of free to play players, including several freinds of mine I have brought in to the game. Some have bought some MC, others haven't. And they are having
FUN!

Remember why we play, and why we play this and the older MW games.

Keep on truckin PGI. Like Red Green says, "We're all in this together"

As much as I like the clans, the Madcat (Timberwolf) specifically, They are a bit overpriced. Even a single mech (55$ US) is extremely expensive. For that much money I could buy 1-2 New Games, Sub to a MMO (I enjoy playing Crypics, Champions onlin and Bio Ware's Star Wars the Old Republic) for 2-3 Months at that price which really is a better bang for my buck.

If you brought the prices down by About 1/2 you'd likely make...

A: More Sales
B: Happier Players

After all, not everyone can afford to dump that much money in one sitting. Remember, the economy right now isn't that great. Many of us choose to play FTP MMO's because we're on a tight budget. Many of us would be more inclined to buy mechs at 25$ which is more than fair, but 55$ is absurd. For those that have already paid that amount you could always give them bonus MC as compensation, Cockpit Items or whatever so that they don't feel robbed, but those prices really need to come down.

Other than the absurd prices though I'm looking forward to the Clan Mechs, even though at their current prices I can't afford even 1. The game looks great and I am satisfied with how everything is running so far. (Though Team balance would be better addressed as Missle boats vs non-missile boats makes matches one sided with a good spotter)

Not sure if these have been answered, but I'm sure I'm not the first to ask...

1) If clan tech will be nerfed down to become sidegrades rather than upgrades, why aren't the MC/Cbill costs also nerfed down to IS equivalents? Who would play clans other than RPers when they're essentially not better but cost more?

2) When will the variants and their hardpoint loadouts be released (including where FF/endo is placed, etc)? I'm pretty sure a lot of people are like me, holding back because we need to know what we're gonna get before dumping in a couple hundred.

3) I heard some talk about clan mechs being considered as 5 or 10 tons heavier in MM or something, if this is true, will a Timberwolf count as an Assault in the 3/3/3/3 scheme?

heh.. this is assuming I feel like gifting someone.

I do like the idea of a tournament prize. What sucks is anything like this has to be completely player run... I get the feeling these cheap ******** at PGI would not help out such a tournament. (I keep saying this over and over.. PGI/IGP really needs to look at, copy/imitate the Riot Games FTP gaming model...)

Great idea though!

My other concerm in buying any Clan Mech (bar the fact that they are overpriced) is that with the Phoenix package, the Phoenix variants are the ones I play least, because it seems that PGI has chosen the worst variants to be the Phoenix ones. ;)

They chose the base variant to be the Phoenix mechs as they did for the Founders mechs as well. Sure there are better models than the base variants but at least they are being consistent.

As much as I have a soft spot for the warhawk, the transaction system here has been carefully adjusted to maximize money for a product that mechanically speaking boils down to more of the same but in a different shell, when you consider that clan mechs cannot be pushed too far out ahead of IS mechs without causing the P2W crowd go feral and eat the rest of us.

Very tempted: it's designed like a honey pot after all, and actually very closely follows MC cost of the heavier assault heroes.

Let's talk about ala carte for a second...
So I can't afford $240 to get all the good meat out of the clan package system. No problem.
$55 for an only chassis is outrageous, and I'll cover why in a minute.
I can get up to 6 mech chassis from ala carte and this has a rolling discount to reward people buying more mechs this way and lets you maximize personal value (not a fan of the kitfox or adder? No problem), not bad.
BUT
$30 per chassis is low as it goes ($30 gets about 6500 MC), and the most expensive non-hero assault is 4395 for a 5S stalker.

Wait a minute, so I could get 39,000 MC on it's own, enough to buy nearly 9 stalker 5S? 18 mechs starts sounding like a monumentally epic deal!

However...
Not all of the mechs that you're paying for are dire wolves and warhawks, which means you're getting substantially less value on the heavy, medium and light clan mechs as you're more or less buying 6 assault class heroes with variants. Which wouldn't be so bad if the clan mechs will function in a fundamentally different way to how IS mechs run, which is a slippery slope into the caldera of Terra firma when you consider how bad the friction burn from the P2W crowd will be if the clan mechs were statted to fit their debatable RL money costs.

But then does it matter if I pilot a warhawk or any of the stalker variants? Stalkers I could even buy with in-game C-bills if I cared to grind enough? Doubt it, consider my eagerness firmly reigned in till nearer the time.

edit:
And lets not even talk about the golden mech skin of your choice: only recently came back and I know in my bones that this dead horse is currently being flogged with another dead horse.

It took all of February and all of March just to unlock phase 1 of the social rewards. Are they really so clueless to see at these prices they have no chance in hell of reaching social reward 2? Epic fail at reaching sales goals.

There are sales targets?
They are selling clan mechs?
<turns back to inner sphere shopping list>
/joking off

Still waiting for inner sphere high tech pack.
HEY PGI, you spent 2 years only giving inner players what they want, then release clan stuff and wonder why there are no clan players around to buy it. lol.

Give the 5 year old you use for long term planning a cookie and he might be able to think clearer.

It doesn't help that a lot of Clan players hear what's being done to "balance" them against IS players, get near-zero actual hard data on what's going in, and naturally are incredibly (and logically) leery about buying in.

So far, paying through the nose for what feels like a redux of Inner Sphere stuff is...less than appealing to most.

It pains me to see people spending money on this without actually having any assurances that the games problem will be resolved and that asked for features like community warfare will actually be implemented to satisfaction, all because PGI added some small bonuses for early adopters.

On the plus side - all the people willing to pay already should tell anyone that the Mechwarrior franchise is worth money.

I had my money for the Dire Wolf ready.... to spend... simple because i think that Mech will destroy the remaining ruins of MWO game balance - but i did spend it for some more miniatures.

Sorry PGI but this Awesome i have now (for ~ $10) - that thing work much better than yours.

One reason not to buy it was the inability - to switch the camo pattern on the prime variants (I don't care for what reasons it should be permitted)
The other reason... i know what all ClanMechs and variants should be capable of - but i can't say if this time a Machine Gun are 4 HPs, or a MLAS 3 HPS, or a ER-PPC 1 HP....
Last not least - i dislike scenarios between 3052 and 3060 with minmaxed Mechlab chassis - and that is what we will play with the introduction of ClanTech.
Give me 3025 or give me Total War

This game is disappointing .

I uninstalled MWO 1 year ago and reinstalled recently cause the clan was invading and found out besides the silly UI changed everything is relatively the same .

Clans are invading does not provide any new modes just another excuse to sell mechs at hefty prices to hard core fans .

Feels like the developers ain't keen to keep the game going anymore , just trying to milk last cash out of hardcore fans before shutting this game down abruptly .

I have no issue with PGI's pricing model. They are free to make money whichever way they wish, and it is a FREE to play game, and above all not P2W.

It seems a lot of people have issue with pricing of items in the game, but as the owner of the property PGI can price it whichever way they desire. The trick is showing enough competence and instilling enough confidence in the fans to make them pay for the items you provide. Personally i came into MWO very excited and have invested a fair bit of change and time in the game to ensure it stays alive.

The clan packages are nice and very tempting, however personally am not willing to put any more cash into the game. My confidence in the designers has unfortunately waivered due to changes over the past year (random ghost heat, charge mechanic on the gauss instead of ppc, drastic changes to manoeuvrability on a mech purchased with money, poor rollout of new ui).

We, the community can make suggestions, however ultimately it is up to the discretion of the product owners on how to alter it and how to price it, in order for us to open up our wallets.
