I have a quote for you that refers to a similar mindset displayed by a certain Clan faction, namely the Crusaders. It's from a 40k Space Marine (Dawn of War: Retribution): "There is the Emperor and there is war. Nothing more."
I've picked that quote precisely because the Clan Warrior castes sole purpose is to fight. Their society is divided in castes, which are more or less specialised. Clan Warriors have no need for currency as the Inner Sphere does. They move within their circles and receive whatever they need to fulfill their duty. The same goes for the Emperor's Finest, the Space Marines.
BT and the 40k universe have a lot in common, if you dare to look deeper into this matter. In short: both Clan Warriors and Space Marines are guided by ideals and orders. They have been made incarnations of war and given a duty to fulfill. They can be corrupted by power, no question about it, but not by 'money'.
It is easy to mistake one for another. I give you an example: A rich merchant believes he has power due to his wealth, allowing him to 'hire' warriors to protect him. It doesn't protect him from his own warriors however, the ones that have power over life and death (his life to be precise). It also doesn't protect him, if his warriors fail. In fact it makes him an easier target for those lusting after his riches. If he was able to defend himself properly, he wouldn't need to worry. Alas, few can, if ever. Power through money is just an illusion waiting to dissolve once the bullets start to fly. Money doesn't stop bullets. Power armor and BattleMechs do.
