If you think in the long run and have the patience most clan Mechs at some later point after the release of the Clan wars patch will have varients pass over into the IS with the likes of the Mad Dog to Vulture, Summoner to Thor and Timberwolf to Mad cat it just depends on if there going to go the full hog with the battletech universe.

Curb stomp? The Com Guard victory came as a result of huge losses as victories of attrition often are. If you fought against the Wolves, you would have been curb stomped or turned into atoms yourself.

You are correct. My choice of words was very poor. I let myself get swept up in the exuberance of the idea. A curb stomp implies a onesided victory, which of course Tukayyid was not. What I should have said, was that it was a pivotal moment in Battletech history, a shining moment of Inner Sphere Arms, and it would be fun as hell to play in, on /either/ side.

I will most likely change, but it depends on if I make good friends / colleagues in my Inner Sphere nation, because I cannot bail on friends.

I'm gonna throw my two cents in here on why I'm going to try to jump Clanner. Battletech is a game of War and Clans fight EVERYONE!
Me, I'm a Coyote. Fight the Jade Falcons over a slight? SURE! Smash the Burrocks for parts? I'm there. Butt heads with the Wolves just because? Heck yeah!

The houses fight according to their own rules and well....it's a bit boring from what I remember from MPBT 3025. I had served with all houses save Steiner before it shut down and it was pretty much the same thing only slightly changed. *Shrugs* atleast as a mercenary they'll pay me to dance to their song. However, as soon as the Clans hit the scene, I'm gone.

Wow, I've been trying so hard to stem my anticipation for this game, I've more or less neglected posting on the forums since I joined in Nov of last year!

Anyway, I've been a BT devotee since before the clans were new. But, I truly found my niche when the Dragoons which I'd followed from the beginning revealed their ties to Clan Wolf. So, I've pretty much been a Wolf deep down since then. Even if I do try to fight it with bouts of Spheroid solidarity and "3025 purism" from time to time.

MW2 was the first computer game I truly and wholly fell in love with, back circa 1995 when we could finally afford a "good" computer to run it on!

Long story short, YES, I will be joining the children of Kerensky the moment I have the chance.

No.

I think to become a clanner one has to pass a trial first, I am pretty sure I'd fail.

And ofc no retries within a year or so :P .

Clans will for obvious reasons have to be utterly balanced, which means clan tech will have to become available to IS aswell, can't imagine it going any other way.

But I'd rather get shot up in a rustbucket than in a prestine mech, think of the insurance bills rising and rising.

It will depend on versatility of actions, that will be available for clanners.
If freedom of my actions will be too restricted, i'll stay in IS.

Proceed to Nav Point Alpha.

...I still fire that up on DOSBox every once in a while. If all MWO turned out to be was a relaunch of MW2, I confess I'd still play it for approximately gazillionty hours.

I for one will be staying IS. For some reason Iv never liked clan even when I was a teenager. Specially on TT where if your not fighting another clan machine its almost like why bother because ton for ton the clan machine is better PERIOD. My old TT story teller once told me I had "Underdog Syndrome" cus I always chose to play IS if it was ever a choice for that game or campaign.

I have this feeling Im not the only one with "Underdog Syndrome" on this forum and is proud of it...

:P LIKE AND SHARE THIS POST IF YOU AGREE! :D

You have to install your old MW2 disk, and go into the DOSBox files and add in the correct command lines. It's a little tricky to make sure you're putting everything exactly where you need to, but more or less it's just a copy and paste. Shoot me an email or PM if you want some more detailed help!

I couldn't possibly say no to rejoining the ranks of the Smoke Jaguar

just dont buy into any land deals on Huntress B)

I'm staying IS. no one but the devs know what they have planned for the clans, but we can all agree it has to be balanced or the population will shift to the point where the game will become clan only. thats when most of us will move on

Tough call. I love my House Davion, but my first experience with the Battletech Universe was Mechwarrior 2, so the clans will always have a special place in my heart.

Freebirth scum till I die. I started out with MW2 and MW2:GBL but I never found love for the game till MW Mercs dropped then it was on like atlas kong!
