Two More Is Mechs Before The Clans

January - Battlemaster
February - Griffin or Wolverine
March - Griffin or Wolverine depending on February release
April - ?
May - ?
June - first Clan mech.
Chances are good one of the two IS mechs might finally be the Flea, unless PGI gave up on that idea completely.
That leaves the second mech, which I believe has to fill the last weight slots that remain unfilled yet. In my view that would be the 95 ton slot, and the best mech that I would think qualifies for that would be the Banshee.
Assuming PGI has given up on the Flea, I would think the replacement might be along one of the filled but least populated weight slots, as in only one mech is currently slotted.

It's just not a proper Kuritan light lance without Thorns.

That said, we have one fewer Assault than we do Heavies. As much as I'd love to see a Cyclops or an Annihilator, the Cerberus and Banshee do seem somewhat more likely given that they're basically the only two 95-ton options given the current tech level.

Besides, the devs already mentioned that the next light mech is going to be "humanoid, controversial, and a specialist" according to an NGNG podcast. So that most likely means the Firestarter.
Edit....
.....
unless the Urbanmech counts as humanoid enough....

For me it is!!!
Kudos to Bishop Steiner Draw skills.

Locusts and it's faster cousin, the Flea will also fill a niche, literally. Tonnage restrictions for pre-made teams may mean you will see somebody in a Locust just so his lance mates can have an Atlas and a Highlander.
We'll see, though. They could pull another Quickdraw on us and come out of the blue with some other mech like the Grasshopper or such instead of this mythical humanoid light mech.

Unless PGI breaks there rules again (like they did with the commando when the Locust was released) the Locust is the faster of those two. The Flea almost catches up when using MASC, but otherwise the Flea is one of the slowest lights we could see.

Um... Jenners have been immensely popular since at least the beginning of OB, excepting only when they couldn't compete against ECM plus broken hitboxes and no HSR. And they were still fairly popular, even then.
Maybe thinking of the Locust?

The other has to be Flea since it has been announced like over a year ago?

Exactly, when the heck did a Thorn become beloved. I coudl see a Panther (not that it would be of any use compared to the Jenner) The Panther IS beloved however.(in 3025 TT gameplay it was a monster also)
Re the Flea, I don't see it being very useful, the Locust kind of proved that point IMO., 20 tons just doesn't get you much in this game. Lights that might be better in the game would be the Firestarter,, Javelin (I know really), Wolfhound (rather boring layouts)
I doubt an additional light other than the Flea will be added however. The other mech will likely be assault or heavy.
