This is terrible for a couple reasons: No BAP (key), no Artemis (Undocumented big boost to launcher lock.) Also it has crappy leg and arm armor for no good reasons, thrown on the altar of a worthless MG.

Check this out instead OP:
Proper 2D2 Lighthunter

You can tweak it here and there armor wise to suit your taste I suppose, but overall, I think that's the best bang for your buck with a 2D2 light hunter. This is a really good 'mech and a really good config for it, so I do applaud your good taste, OP!

You can squeeze in AC10+2xML+3xSSRM2. Though with relatively limited ammo, it should eat the streak boat for lunch.

The trick is the 4x SSRM2 Shadow Hawk is not the ideal 'mech to engage other Shadow Hawks or mediums; there's plenty of better Shadow Hawks to kill mediums+.

However, it's still competent at it, and more importantly it's a Light Hunter. If the lights don't flee from this thing on sight, it will chew them up and spit them out without a second thought.

If you are looking for anti-med-assault configs, try 2 AC/5, 1 PPC.

I've been running my -2D2 as 4 SSRM and a gauss. It's been a mixed bag - some games it's wildly successful, others I'm dead with 50 damage to my name. A lot of it seems to be the ranges of the map - longer ranges benefit the gauss, and if the opposing mechs make a half hearted push, the gauss and streak combo eats them alive. Where it gets bogged down is in the middle of a bunch of actively hostile mechs - to make room for the gauss, the streaks, the BAP, and a reasonable engine, it tends to be a little more fragile. Especially with the gauss and XL in the same torso - it goes boom once that armor is gone.

Try this....

111.8 KPH, 4 streaks, 2 MPL, better armor and more ammo, with the BAP compared to your original build.

Not too terrible overall - trading some jump height for speed in my build. Still I'd recommend tearing a ton of something off and buffing that leg armor, it's really bad. You don't drop your leg armor by a third then stuff them full of ammo!

Unless it's gauss ammo. :)

But yeah, this is one of those things people do that doesn't make sense to me, especially since a lot of pilots know that ammo ends up in the legs.

SHD-2D2

this is one of my favorites. I do well in it and the inclusion of the LL gives you some bite at range before they close. It's great for keeping squirrels off your fire support mechs.

Because the Kintaro didn't come in my Phoenix package?
Because I'm too old school to use one of those "new" mechs?
Because the Shadow Hawk has a high shoulder mounted ballistic?
Because the Shadow Hawk has jump jets?

Short answer: Jump Capable.
Long answer: Kintaros are huge building sized 'mechs compared to Shadow Hawks, while filling the same role.

That said if you HAVE to pilot a Kintaro, pilot a Streaktaro!

I ran like 3 or 4 different loadouts before I settled on

LBX10
LRM5 x4
MLx2

I think 2 tons of ac ammo and maybe 3 tons of lrm? dont remember exactly, plus diff people will want diff amounts of ammo to taste anyway.

I think I have XL300, but it might be a 275. dont recall, I think after tweak now it does like 89kph or something. Think I have a single JJ on it.

Sorry this is so vague, but people will need to tweak this to taste anyway. It works well, 4x LRM5 in group fire is a fast reload LRM20, and pretty well can do without artemis, IF you are careful about terrain more. Also, it does much better at the 400M range then an artemis/tag LRM mech(which can range out to 700M easily compared to this). Use the LRM as supplement to your dmg instead of trying to play LRM boat with only 4 LRM 5's. Using them in mid range combat is like an indirect fire AC20(yes dmg spreads a bit though) with shorter cooldown, and ability to fire without perfect aim on your target. 2ML is good for anything really in range, and LBX works up close, plus can scare off lights even if it isnt ideal to destroy them. Hit them with the LBX to make them go into defense mode instead of attack mode, and then leg them with ML as they zig zag away. Add some LRM if they are within 350M, and not running sideways away from you.

It works, I avg 400+ dmg. Not a kill machine, but it brings in good money and deffinatly is a big contributer to the fight for the team. Good mobility, area control and support fire LRM, solid skirmisher.
