I, Like Budski, will use my first post here to congratulate you on this marvellous achievement Void! Forever will I be on the enemy team with forementioned budski charging aimlessly to kill you and only you, yelling VOIDSINGERRRRRR! in the chat :)

Great work man! Keep doing what your doing, I look forward to dropping with you upon my return to the homeland! :D

Well... gettin' two legendary overlord founders to the point to make their very first post on these forums since the beginning of the game, only to congratulate you... that's a true achievement.

I really hope you'll get your own achievement (named after you) but maybe not at 1billion :)

Big kudos!

Well it helps that the way they got me playing with them was to chase me down from right across the map across Alpine to kill me. I felt like I was being stalked! :-p

Great guys those. Fun to play with.

why the hell you spend so much time/ or money in a game. you must play 12 hours the day to achive that.

For what reason? when you play every match another mech you will be busy 3 days. no one needs that XD.

i had 22 mechs and sold 15 of them. jeez crist guy. what is wrong with u?

Meh. I'm single-minded (MWO only game I played), and was Battletech starved. Things are cooling off. Playtime was only half what you estimated, and was easier straight after they removed Repair & Rearm (which I want in the game).

I was a Pokemech player, what can I say.

One does not get to be a billionaire by being generous.

You are a stingy mongrel on the way up.

When you get old, you get generous, so after you are dead you hope people forget the bad things you did and remember only your later generosity (while still leaving a large inheritence for next of kin).

Each to their own, well done dude. I too was wondering when they said there was a c-billionaire somewhere. Also, ignore anyone here that makes a negative comment. They are either jealous or have some inadequacy of their own somewhere in their life.

Hope PGI rewards you somehow for your dedication! :(

Wow, congrats.

To the people saying he has no life, calculating his 21+ thousand matches at an average of five minutes a match you're only looking at 75 days of play. That's really not that much as a gamer. Considering how long my matches tend to go, maybe seven minutes a match is a bit more realistic. Even then it's 105 days. I know I've got nearly that much in a game I used to play regularly for at least a couple hours a night.

I find it quite ironic the people that think the kind of time Void has into this game is insane... If they'd just consider all the time they've gamed I bet they'd be surprised.

I have a girlfriend, 2 daughters (twin) and a job. I wake up, breakfast with everyone, move to job, return home, dinner with everyone, help twins with homework and I usually either watch TV for a hour or do something else and most of the time I'm good for 2 hours on the computer before ging to bed.

The 105 days you're talking about is 24hrs a day? In the best possible scenario I can tell you that I'm good to play maybe 2 hours every evening in average so let's do the math. 105 x 24 = 2520 hours total so I need to divide by 2 for the hours I can afford every single evening of a year, and that gives 1260 days, or roughly 3.45 years.

That's a lot of money. I'm only a quarter of the way there without ever using any premium time (aside from that free month all the Founders got).

Your calculations are out.

First of all, my pre-HSR games were usually much quicker (yes, you die when you lag and can't hit much). Second, I used concurrent gaming, where if I died, I jumped straight into another match (picked that up from a PGI staffer). Then, prior to 12 man games, and all the startup rubbish, games were much quicker, both in and out. I wasn't playing any other games. So, based on an average of about 5 minutes per game, you get:

21 600*5/60 = 10759 hours/24 = less than 60 days. Over 14 months.

Yes, a great deal. I've been a BT fan for over 25 years though, and didn't game online at all for over 10 years (last try was MW2: Mercs where I was slaughterd due to dialup). My personal life details are my own, but you have an active social life. For many reasons, I don't. I also don't watch TV.

Everything you said in understanding what I said is correct. 105 24 hour days. I played game (Gears of War 2 on the Xbox 360) for nearly the 75 days I estimated first. That was over the course of 2.5 to three years I'd estimate. I didn't feel like I was glued to the game all the time. Matter a fact, the time pretty much just flew by.

Not everyone has the same responsibilities as you only being able to game 2 hours a day. Even that isn't very much. Typically, not having a GF, or kids my down time at home can extend from three to four and half hours. Now, by no means do I spend that entire time gaming, but I could. And that doesn't include the weekends which I have spent 8+ hours gaming in a day. Point is, gaming for even three hours a night and going 6+ on the weekend can be easily doable depending on what someone has to do. And that would equate to a lot less time than 3.45 years it would take you to do what he did as well as working a job and doing anything else he'd need to do.

I don't disagree that it's a lot of time spent on the game, or gaming in general. But by comparison to many people that would say it's a waste of time that aren't gamers, or even the ones saying it here - I ask how much time they spend essentially wasting time at bars, watching TV or just hanging out with friends? Those same people - I know because they've said it to me - will knock on me for gaming while say/or in a sense say everything they do is so constructive. Which includes everything I mentioned. (And while I wouldn't straight up say those things are wasting time, I don't consider it any different than when I game with my buddies or other "real" people online)

But even then, 3.5 years to log 105 days of game time in... That really doesn't sound so bad to me either.

Void, in his defense, those were my calculations. But even then I didn't consider it any real big length of time.

As for the bold, I don't have a social life around my area as well. I also don't watch much TV. My social life pretty much consists of the guys I game with, a few of them are my best friends.

This was not directed to you personnaly. There was 2 posts showing numbers so I took one and adjusted it to my daily routine which showed that it made no sense with my current living. No offence anyone.

Another trick one could use (but would screw stats and that's why I asked for your stats :) ) is you can run 20 Mechs and one after each other you enter a game and when match start you quit and do the same with next... by the time you do that with the 20th you're 1st should be free. For each match you get a minimal amount of everything, a little more if your team manage to win without you. This is until they fix by closely monitor if a player is still present or not. I see it still happen from time to time people asking if they will get C-Bills and XP if they quit before en of match.

So whatever how you got there, you did so congrats again.

Anybody else out there done this?

Have all mechs except the Oxide (I kind of stopped buying mechs due to postgame reload time).

All mechs are at Master (with 75 000XP on top for skill tree updates).

Have I beaten the game?

Yeah, must admit mine were hit by 5:30 am bugs. Not going to be bothered fixing them. Main thing is that I'm not glued to the PC. I went overboard in search of a few in game goals, but much of the time I just chat on TS as I play.

Oh, about my Stats. They usually suck pretty bad. I never use Meta builds, prefering the spirit of the mech design. While HSR fixed much, lower pings still have a huge edge. I'm also rather impulsive, aggressive and impatient in my gameplay (yes, I prefer Conquest).

You took my numbers. How did my assumption of time he played not make sense? In your current situation, sure, not possible. But what I said wasn't directed at someone in your position. My underlying point was that even if he played seven minutes a match with 21 thousand plus matches under his belt it's still doable. What short time I've played MWO I've already run into quite a few people on TS that say their play time varies from grinding three to four hours a night, plus all day on the weekends to not playing an entire week.

Personally I suspect I will never hit a billion. I get to $250mil and invariably purchase a three pack of mechs and associated upgrades that knocks me right back down. I think I have earned around 600-800 by now perhaps....6300 drops at 144k average.
