I just logged in today and saw the new Timberwolf design and I love it! I am trying to create some wallpaper, and some recruitment graphics for the Merc Corps that I'm a part of...but I can't find an image of the entire Timberwolf. The best I've found so far is an image showing everything down to the knees.

Anybody know where I can find a full sized image of the ENTIRE mech? I would be greatful for any help on this. :)

Yeah, it would be nice to have a concept art picture released.

It is almost like they're saving that for later as if they had months of waiting that needs something to be used as webpage updates.

Yeah, other than the unseen mechs, the Timberwolf is the one mech I've been waiting FD to work on since he has done such an awesome job on all the other mechs so far. I LOVE the new Timberwolf design!...just wish I could see the whole thing, lol.

I think that is due to the arms being mounted to the torso rather high in the drawing along with the shorter than usual missile launcher boxes.

I like it though, it is a cool looking mech.

IMO, this new Mad Cat looks more like an obese shark stuck on shore rather than the lean-and-mean killer that the Mad Cat has historically looked like. It stills looks cool, but it kind of deviates from the spirit of what makes the TW the TW.

It depends for me. Some artist in the past made it cooler than others. I know it is all subjective anyway (people like different things).

IMO...

I think what you said is correct when comparing it to the Mechwarrior 2 Timberwolf...

To me, that mech looked mean and sleek. The Box art was the reason I even tried the game and got into the Mechwarrior franchise. Now it looks dated, but I still thought it looked cool for the time.

Now, I think MWO's design looks much cooler than Mechwarrior's 3s version...

To me, this Timberwolf/Madcat looks like the front of a B-52 bomber stickiing out of a huge box. It looks clunky and ugly. I think the in-game pic above is from MW3, but I might be wrong.

Mechwarrior 4 doesn't look much better than 3 really in my book. Still looks like a bomber and box.

Actually looking back, the Timberwolf always looked a bit chunky. In anycase, I think I like MWO's verison the best (atleast artwork wise). As for actual ingame model, if it sticks somewhat close to the artwork, I think it will look pretty good.

Now that I think of it, that in-game pic I posted claiming MW3 does look a bit like MW4. So I might be wrong when it comes to the MW3 Timberwolf. Still, I don't remember it looking all that sleek in that game anyway.

I still think MW2 made the mech look like a sleek hunter compared to the other designs.

Here is the best Mad Cat of all:

It does look mean Fup, but sleek...ehhh, not so much.

Still, if that design was ever in a game, I would pilot it. It is a cool rendering of a Madcat for sure.

I think the melding of the missile boxes into the shoulder makes is look overtly squat versus its previous incarnations.

I wonder if merging the missile boxes into the shoulder was a design concession to mitigate re-coding how hitboxes were allocated?

Maybe not "sleek" per se, but it certainly isn't a beached whale either. ;)

I also think the thighs/legs are a bit too fat (arms too while we're at it, specifically the lower arm), and the hips are waaaay too wide. I wouldn't be surprised if the "Unique Bonus Module" was a consumable that spontaneously gave birth to a baby Kit Fox. ;)

I think Alex might be a "chubby-chaser" as all his designs are "portly"... ;)

That said, I have to admit to appreciating the fact that his designs carry a weight to them... I mean seriously, the pipe-cleaner arms and narrow hips of the original TRO are not necessarily conducive to conveying "war machine"...

I never liked the pipe-clearer arms either, I'm just saying that Alex's TW put on quite a bit of extra weight. Perhaps it is as depressed about the game as the average forumite, and is overeating to drown out its sorrows? ;)

Or it's suffering from "Assault mech envy" and it's trying to eat it's way up to the weight class... ;)

The new one looks pretty high tech better than the older versions. Look at the USS enterprise from Start trek Each movie it just gets better more high tech looking. I am OK with the changes as long as the traits are the same. Bird like!

Why do you think it took so long for Clans? He had to lift, bro.

I hope they release the Blood Asp with it heavy large lasers and Guass;s someday and the clan laser animations should be a thicker brighter beam. Were clan lasers Emerald and crimson in color?, or were they the same as inner sphere just heavier looking beams?.
