The dead one! Har har.

I use the all energy variant with a 355 engine it's fast nimble and packs a punch at mid range, the other versions are pretty similar but trade lasers for missiles.

there's no best, only the least worse one...

hate them all ;)

however, I had the best results with the 4H (3missile hardpoints) as streak hunter...

The 4G is the most maneuverable out of all of them but is the worst as far as hardpoints. The 4H adds an extra missile slot but is less maneuverable. The 5K tears out the missile points for energy slots which is pretty neat and allows for some interesting builds.

I'd recommend the 5K.

The 5K is the best one. It does everything the Jester would do, but better.

The 4G used to be good, but PPCs have kinda fallen a bit, so the 4H is better since you can boat more SRM/Streaks in it. The 4G's arms are exceptional at absorbing damage due to increased movement... but that's it.

Well you need them all to master them anyways, so get em all. Personally im holding out for a hero with some ballistics.

Yep, I've been using 5K even in competitive for a long time. Now with the Shawks around there's no more need for the QKDs, though they were beasts with 2ML 3PPCs as I used the 5K back when no heat penalties nor ghost heat was present.

To me 5K>4H>4G.

Lolno... the jester has something like 5 more tons for heatsinks with the same loadout and really feels more agile than those quickies.

It's not about the heatsinks (although it is a factor in favor of the Jester), but the Jester suffers the same issues that the Catapults have - easy to core.

It was never a problem in the Quickdraw (despite it being needlessly tall).

With the same armor (400), engine (350XL), and loadout (2LL, 4ML), the Jester can load a second AMS with ammo and 3 more HS at the cost 8 KPH (104 vs 96) than a Quickdraw. Quickdraw could forgo the AMS for 2 more HS if droped a half-ton of armor (since at 400 points it;s only 2 off max, so can easily shave a few off the legs), so they're close. Quickdraw has a missile slot as well, offering a little more flexability in the loadout. The biggest difference then is arm movement.

They're close, it's probably a matter of preference.

I have the one with 7 jump jets and I like it. I run a xl275 engine with 2 large lasers, 2 SRM 6s. Mobile, packs a punch and has good survivability.

The 5K by far. Despite the mech's bad reputation, I love Quickdraws and do pretty well in them. My QKD-5K has a K/D ratio of 3,11.

That's right but what the giant CT is for the Cat, so are those big legs for the quickies. I get legged 70-80% before I die in a quickdraw...

That is why putting max armor in them is important. The arms on the Quickdraw can lose some armor at least, since that is not the focal point of the weapons.

If you're piloting the Quickdraw correctly, all parts of the body will take damage, including the legs and still be very functional.

I've had the best luck with the 5K as well (2 LL and 4 ML). Just remember you're surgical fire support and not the front line brawler with it's low starting armor. It's also a great bargain in that for only 200,000 more c-bills you get double heat sinks. First trade off you may want to make is swapping it's ferro fibrous armor for endosteel; you'll gain about 2 free tons.
