Hello,

I just thought of a few builds for the Dire Wolf chassis, based on http://imgur.com/h1C6WaQ and http://www.sarna.net...Equipment_Lists .

Dire Wolf "Wrecking Ball"

Center Torso of Variant B, Arms of Prime Variant:

4 * Clan Ultra AC/10 (in side torsos and arms)
10 tons of ammunition

1 Clan ER Laser (small) (central torso)

Dire Wolf "Bulldozer"

Center Torso of Variant B, Arms of Prime Variant:

2 * Clan Ultra AC/20 (in side torsos)
10 tons of ammunition

2 Clan ER Laser (large) (in both arms)
6 Clan ER Laser (medium) (in both arms)

1 Clan ER Laser (small) (central torso)

2 additional double heat sinks

Dire Wolf "Thunderstorm"

Center Torso of Variant A, Arms of Prime Variant:

3 * Clan Streak SRM 6 (side torso)
6 tons of ammunition

8 Clan ER Laser (large) (in both arms)

3 additional double heat sinks

---
Thunderstorm Variant will tend to melt itself, but the lasers give you 80 damage on really long range. What do you think?

Regards,
Squarefox

Just stuff it full of U/AC20s and SSRM6s and win.

I don't know anything about lore, so I don't know if the Direwolf is a good mech or not, but it is a 100T assault and if clan weapons are as mean as people say, this mech should be a good time.

Well in lore it's basicaly the most feared mech of them all and so is in table top/BattleTech. The Direwolf is simply unmatched in firepower.

Five CLRM-20+A, ammo, armor, a pair of CERMlas and a tag. Rain fire and brimstone. Proffit on the tears of dead MechWarriors.

Irusk, it's much, *much* safer to coordinate with your team and flank a Dire Wolf to end it. A lone Dire Wolf is a fearsome mech to hold against, and I don't think any mech in the game currently will be able to do so alone.

MWO isn't going to allow a 4 x Ultra 10 or any other normally-legal loadout of that devastating capacity. This is why they'll come at it from a new angle.

First of all, screw PGIs plans about clans.

Second of all: Alternate configuration B has (among other stuff) five (!) ballistics (i.e. 4 ballistic "hardpoints" in MWO nonesense), that means I can easily replace the default U/AC2s and LB with U/AC10s.

You also got to take a look at how much tonnage will be left after armor, speed, etc. I have doubts if you can even fit 6 ER LLs along with the 3 SSRM6s, let alone 8 ER LLs. Plus of course PGI will nerf this kind of stuff by adding ghost heat, so we can't even bring a single AC in the game without it being ghost heated. So then 4 of them will be as hot as 7 ER PPCs (maybe not that hot but still.)

So than high, linked ghost heat on all UAC-s incoming?
Even 2 UAC/10's are a lot , and the 20's will have the ghost heat probly upped as a big clan mech could stack up on clan DHS and manage more that 2 double shots of those, seeing what they did so far this seems likely....

Of course, the Daishi is a bada##, but you know we won't be able to mount that much hardware here.

From what I've read, all equipment (engine, armor, structure, #heatsinks) is currently NOT changable in the design phase at the moment. (Subject to change of course.) Honestly, clan tech is NOT going to be anything like BT lore, it just won't work in MWO. So I really doubt you'll get two UAC20's let alone four UAC10's on a single mech, and if you do, you'd be better off fitting standard AC's in that quantity.

I really can't wait to hear more info from PGI about Clan tech. It's gonna be a long six months.
