So I need to keep this one as it is the phoenix mech but I'm having a bit of trouble with my current build. I'm more of a brawler and this is not what I like exactly but other than that all i've been able to come up with is 4 med laser and 2 srm 6's which is my hunchback pretty much. So any suggestions on how to help out this TBolt would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure you can be an effective brawler with a Tbolt. For that try the Jager, put on some nice double AC20, and unleash hell. I like that too :)
But for the Tbolt, this is my favourite build so far:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...e6ae472e452bb2d

Great for harassing assaults&heavies, if you can keep firing for suspended time, you can even rip parts off. Just remember to always move around.

I like you're 2 AC5s. However that build has a problem in that you've got case plus an XL engine. Case doesn't work if you've got an XL. It's explained in more depth here: http://mwomercs.com/...-a-brief-guide/

To the OP the Thunderbolt is not a great 'mech and I'm struggling myself. 2PPC + 5ML in the 5SS is quite a nice one to use.

noted, devs should be working on this problem too
I guess I'm going to replace case and some armor with more ammo

You have enough ammo. An additional DHS would help more IMO.

Overheating is not really an issue, and I haven't elited the chassis out yet. LL and ML is rarely used at the same time. More like LL and AC5 and long ranges, and when things get close and personal, I have backup ML. On the other hand i ran out of ammo on multiple occasions rendering me nothing more than a laser boat. And I'm quite conservative with ammo.

That's what I'd do with your tbolt. I use the jumpjet variant without ballistics so my build is obviously different. I'd advise against running XL in a thunderbolt like some of these builds have suggested, it's one of the tankiest heavies out there, I regularly go down with 15-25% health, running XL wastes one of the few good aspects of the mech, though it's easier to shoot than the broad side of a barn it can tank up damage easily.

x2AC5/x2ERLL is a pretty standard direct fire support build on 65 ton mechs running XL, but if you want to be a fire support mech I'd sooner put it in a K2 or Jagermech.

Would like to try this build out too but that xl engine is so expensive! Too costly for me to try out right now but maybe I can try it in the future.

This looks interesting too I'll try it out soon thanks everyone for your input.

Here is your mech, spruced up a bit....no case needed now.

My tweak to your build.....srm's are trash right now.

I prefer the 2x AC5 / 4 M-Laser Build with an Standard Engine

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...018286c67230dcb

the other 2 Variants i just skilled basic and sold them then, this build works pretty good but tbh a Shadowhawk can carry 2x AC5 / 2x M-Laser aswell while being faster and jumpable therefore working better for me!

This build is a great versatile mech. It can sit back and alpha with some great DPS. it can tank using the Tbolts huge damage blocking side torsos, favor your left side from damage because all your guns are there. Hot maps favor the ballistics arm but I still managed to do 400 damage with appropriate placed laser alphas on Tourmaline when my left arm got destroyed real early. It took me a looong time to find a nice sweet spot for the thunderbolt but this one brings damage and durability in spades. I am also not a fan of that huge hump missiles give him and find them more a liability then an asset unless you make him into a LRM boat.

I'm more of a brawler myself - so here's the build I've been running on the 5S. It's not fancy but works quite well. You'll note the extra ~.3 tons of dead weight, and ordinarily that's something you want to avoid... But with all the other gear in place, you'll essentially end up with a choice of what to use that last free ton on. You could push the engine to 300 (for a whole 1kph more speed), trim armor to 400 and add another heat sink - but here's my thinking on it and why I chose to run to 422 armor and eat the dead weight... This mech absorbs craploads of damage. It's the defining characteristic of the chassis. It will routinely get down to between 20-30 percent on a standard engine before folding if you twist well and spread your incoming damage. If you've ever seen your paper doll at 25%, there's not a lot of armor left. Anywhere. That extra 10 pts of armor per leg could easily be the difference in your living and dying (since the leg is where people typically strip armor first). Leg armor is also crucial on this build because it's a brawler. Plain and simple. You hang out up front to trade punches, and you're absolutely, positively going to get caught in air strikes here and there. You can never have too much armor when that happens... You could strip armor off the empty left arm instead - but it makes such a good shield. The longer it's intact, the longer your other torso parts will remain attached. It's a very solid and fun mech to play once you get past trying to make it "balanced".

If I played a T Bolt, I'm 100% sure this is what I'd run. I like that idea of playing it like a short yardage running back who lowers his helmet and punishes would-be tacklers!

If I had a 300 STD though, I'd use it rather than buying a new motor. :D

Op, it's a fine design. But there are many to be had on the Thunderbolt. I prefer XL300, 13DHS, Endo, AMS, BAP with:

ERLLAS in the upper torso beam mount (trigger 1)
2 MLAS in the other two torso mounts (trigger 2)
SRM-6A in RT (trigger 3)
LRM-15A in the RT drum (trigger 5)
2 MGs and a MPLas in the arms for close defense (trigger 4)

Easy with Logitech G700 mouse or similar.

I go for it with a xl engine and high speed (with skills up to 82 kph). Helps pretty much to get in the back of the assault mechs and put srms (i have 4er and 6er with artemis(!!!)) in there.
Also it is good to chase lighter mechs and with large laser and ac (double AC2 or AC5 or Ultra AC5 or AC10) you have a good medium-long distance firepower as well.
Its my favorite Mech at the moment and runs well in almost every situation. Mainly as a support for the assaults
