Not when you cram them into a HBK with low 30> ping so convergence is pinpoint. Then add the new map where they can't hear it going BOOM into the equation, and I've been accused of hacking more times last week then the past year of playing.

If I can down a Phract in 3 salvos, Atlas in 5... before they even realize what's going on well, you get the picture. Tonnage limits... lol. I've literally "one shotted" shadowhawks and cicadas with well placed shots.

On the subject of cheese builds, I feel ashamed for using them but I've had enough tarts, spiders, and LRM5 streamers I can handle. It's time to fight fire with fire.

Beware any HBK you see. They could be a BOOMBACK ready to end your match in a heartbeat. This is a warning to PGI that once again.... allowing players to cram any weapon into any slot on a mech is a BAD THING, and even the HBK (among several other mechs) should only be allowed to configure certain hard points in a semi-realistic manner.

You probabbily saw somebody else playing with the build and then stole it, that being said I am one of the few people that still runs that build. So I'm really glad you stole my build then bragged about it. This has been a thing since closed beta, but nobody expects a HBK-4G(f) of running a build like that.

This is the only video proof of how long I have been doing this, but I have been doing it for a while by the time I made the video.

What a totally craptasic build.

Keep in mind it's a mech for advanced play for someone who desires the appropriate reward for the risk involved

How insulting to advanced players. This is a build for bottom of the elo tier brackets.

Just for the record, kids, running pop-tarts on voice comms is not in any way indicative of being "advanced", "good", "skilled", or even having a clue beyond the fact that someone else told you the build is good. It's not necessarily indicative of the opposite, either. But don't get it into your soft little heads that because you can manage to operate your JJs and guns at the same time gives you any right to judge. Seriously, a monkey could do it, but that doesn't mean they know anything.

Just sayin'.

People were wondering how I got the Oxide paint scheme on my HBK the other day and I just told them that's rust from all the tears I've been collecting on the forums. You guys never disappoint for a good laugh at how bunched panties get over sharing a fun build that doesn't conform to the elitist attitudes so prevalent here. <3

As soon as PGI stops letting us cram huge components into unintended parts of mech builds the BOOMBACK won't be an issue anymore. Until then I'll have fun dropping those smug goliaths who've abused poor mediums since beta.

Even then, I think I'd prefer a tri 2 to a dual LB10. You can hit over 2000M (not viably, but still) instead of 200M.

Less tonnage to boot.

I run a Hunchback-4G with only a slight modification from stock... reduce the engine a bit, drop the head laser and swap the arm MLs for PPCs... (!)

Yes, 40 pts of damage from a Mech running AC/20 and 2 PPCs. This is also easy to run on the Treb K, the Shadowhawks, and others... I don't think it counts as cheese when mounted on something that weighs less than 60 tons ;) Besides, there are plenty of ways to cram big Alphas on any Mech in the game. I even ran a Dual PPC, Dual AC/20 Jagermech for kicks and did well enough in it, but "big alphas" will ALWAYS be the name-of-the-game in any shooter where we have to take fleeting shots. Fleeting shots are best taken with big lots of firepower because you only have a fraction of a second to pull it off -> Big Alphas will rein supreme as long as we can duck and pop in and out of cover.

Also, yes, I have been running the dual LB/10-X Hunchback since last year, I call it the "Double Barrel 10ga."
It's more Fun than Effective, certainly not an "advanced" build... it's an amusing build.

The problem, Lockwood, is that "elitist attitudes" come from Elite players.

I believe you that you're cleaning up with that build. I really do. I'm not an Elite player and my Elo bounces around. When I have a good run for a while, I get bumped up against some really good players and then get smacked around for a while. After that, I'm back down in the middle of the pack for a while and I clean up.

The problem is that you're mistaking your success with the LB-10X with the weapon's quality.

It isn't a good weapon at any Elo level. However, a decent pilot can make pretty good use of it in lower Elo brackets because the targets have no clue how to pilot defensively.

If you're coring/killing Atlases in a dual LB-10X Hunchback, it's not because the LB is good. It's because the Atlas pilot sucked.

The thing is you can get away with almost anything in a Hunchie if your near a more dangerous mech. You tend to get ignored which can give you the chance to pick up scraps. Until the 55 tonners came in it had some chance. Unfortunately in most cases they can do it better with JJs.

hey, umm boss. You actually DO need those heat sinks as you need at least 10 to be a valid loadout.

You would literally always be better off in an atlas with 2 LBX.

And yet people wonder why some players barely break 100 damage in a game. This would be a good place to start (ie, don't run terrible builds).

Until every weapon in the game moves to a spread type of damage, the LB will never be worth it. It is effectively an LRM10 and SRM6 together only for more weight. Kills, and more importantly efficient kills, are done with minimal amount of weapon usage in the same spot as many times as needed. The LB will never do that and, at worst, is only capable of doing that once someone else has stripped the armor off of a location. That requires too many additional steps to get the job done.

Well, you can easily fluff your damage with LB10s, and its fairly simple to get over 1k damage with them. Just shoot and dont die.

The issue is that damage is spread all over the enemies.

It is {Scrap}-tastic, but it only works if you are cautious and able to maneuver with a team. You really need a heavy or an assault to use as bait for you can get close.
A player that is able to do well in a 4G set up like that will likely do well in anything else

Yes, I've done that too, but I had to stop when they put in ghost heat.

My two cents about your build, drop off the lasers and a heat sink for a larger engine, that way you are more maneuverable. You will pick up 11kph with speed tweak, while your overall firepower goes down your sustained DPS is functionally doubled.

HBK-4G 3 AC5's

There is no point in running 3 AC5’s when they cook you faster than killing the enemy. Even with chain fire you have to slow down your rate of fire below the chain-fire rate, so you may be better off with just 2.

HBK-4G 2 AC5's 98kph
