Just got out of a match with 10 trial mechs, which shows you that all the new players are finally getting pooled together. The system works.

In other news, I'm also glad that we don't have a stock mech mode, because you'd see matches where 8 people had the exact same mech with the exact same build, which would be boring.

I am going to assume you are being sarcastic, since the screen cap shows that 6 of the mechs are on 1 team, and that team got wrecked.

Additionally, I do not want to make too many assumptions about your skill level, but I am guessing a seasoned veteran like yourself should not be wading in the kidding pool.

And finally. The stock mech queue, would work just fine since we are not talking about choosing from the 4 trial mechs, but from the dozens of of stock mechs (and not necessarily every possible stock mech, some could be excluded, especially those using advanced technologies).

"Stock Champion Mechs" are not the same as literal "Stock Mechs". The Champion mechs are fine for the most part (with some with really bad weaknesses that are not hard to memorize). That's the least of your problems...

Why weren't you in Champion mechs when I played against you this weekend? It would have made me feel better due to not getting rolled for like the 8th straight game. I swear, I hate playing on the weekends cause all of the awfuls come out and you end up losing one lance every game thanks to the new spawn points.

I like the new spawn points. They weed out the good players from the bad and set higher skill caps.

You start by assuming that I'm sarcastic, then reply to my arguments sincerely, which is weird.

Well, the enemy team did 2628 dmg in total, whereas my team did 703 dmg without me. So I guess the matchmaker was depending on me to do 1925 dmg, being a seasoned veteran. Ultimately, I failed, costing my team their victory. I let everyone down. I just needed 8 more kills... damn it all to hell.

These days, it's easier to take command and threaten them of death if they don't regroup @ the location you specify.

It works great on Alpine.

My sarcasm detector was "accidentally" turned off. MY BAD.

Also, you are missing 3 more newbies (1 on the opfor, 2 on your own).

Yeah, but I'd prefer to play games that don't start out 8 vs 12 when the other side is typically 6-9 733Cs. Played two games like that yesterday and it was always the lance to our far left that went suicidal. That meant that we had to try and clean up against one team that was 9 733Cs, 1 Spider, and 4 D-DCs and other that had 5 D-DCs, 2 Victors, 2 Boom Jagers, 2 Sniper Ravens, and a Jenner. The games ended up close at the end but having to over come those sorts of odds isn't that fun and more than a little soul crushing.

I do have a distinct recollection of seeing your mech walking over my smoldering corpse a few times, actually.

In regards to the spawn points, I agree. Although I do love the new spawn points, I just don't love the choices people make sometimes.

Every new player dead, and only 3 of 11 broke 100 damage

Yep....working great.

Actually the Champion Mech are far better examples of "stock" Mechs. So I have to disagree with you on this one poster. Some of the C-bill bought "stock" Mechs are really behind the play lvl of the game.

It was more of a trip as I got my face smooshed in. Think of it as a slow motion death fall. ;)

As to the stock mechs, the new Champions are good for the general and new audiences. It is going to take forever for PGI, at least at the rate they're going, for there to be champion versions of every chassis and that is assuming that they choose to only do one version of each. IF they opt for one of each chassis for each variant, it'll be 2114 by the time they get that accomplished. That said, only 4 mechs at a time really limits what new people can do. I don't recall UI2.0 opening that up but it would be nice if that were so OR if they'd simply release every champion mech that they have waiting.

It wouldn't have been very nice to those noobs if they were the only one in their team, wouldn't it? Imagine them running helplessly around while someone tries to give them instructions over Chat (if anyone botheres at all), then running into an enemy non-noob, and being shot to death before they realize what's up...

At least now they know there are other noobs out there. Maybe they could invite each other to form a small team so they can learn together and share their frustrations and achievements.

Actually the winning team had 3 Champion mechs and 2 Atlas DDC (ECM) to the losing team's 8 champion mechs and no ECM.

This looks to me like the opposite of a match balance if 2/3rds of a team are champions then why does the other team get 2 100ton ECM mechs and only 3 champions?

But if it's so easy to do, why don't you just wipe out an enemy lance and balance the scales?

Oh right, you said awfuls. You mean people like me who recruited a friend to play and joined a unit with some really good players who don't mind carrying a casual like me along on some drops. Sorry, my bad.

That isn't what I said at all, Nick. What I said is that, when my 4 man group of clan buds (who range from good to scary great) drop in a match, I always point out if we're a man short and to tell the other two group where to consolidate forces so that we don't get picked apart. But, what ultimately happens is a 4 man version of the "lemming march" where they think that their 4 are good enough to take on the 4 unknowns that are close by. Sometimes this is true but often it isn't. That means that they just put the fun and advancement of themselves above themselves for no other reason than they don't want to listen. I'm not a top tier player and I rather dislike the current top tier meta. But, I'm both good enough and smart enough to know that me surrounded by 11 players is a lot better than me surrounded by 7 players when we're facing 12.

A "champion" Mech in MWO is the equivalent of an illegal tournament build in TT or something everyone has to decide on depending on the rule levels, since that blackjack champion is rather far removed from its original build. Obviously since MWO is random matches people don't get to decide what 'rule levels' before hand, as this game seriously needs private match making.

So its not really a 'stock mech' at all, as we all know they (a "champion" mech) are simply in MWO now to hide the fact that MWO has several bad design decisions that make actual stock Mechs next to unbearable.

This, for instance, is like a customized 'mech warrior' mech: http://www.solaris7....fo.asp?ID=13027

This topic is satire I assume though.

Yeah, the stock mechs are hardly created equal. I think most people would prefer a 3025 mode without the losttech.

There's nothing wrong with the Trial/Champion mechs... only the beginner pilots utilizing them. 1000 damage with the Trial Spider and Machine Gun's. Stop complaining and learn to play.
