One more thing.
Dropship mode gives you access to your mechs in the Dropship, not the ability to respawn. It's a completely different function and mechanic.
It's not a die and reenter the match at the same time with the same mech

Respawn game mode? Yes. Its called Attack / Defend.

BUT don't expect it to be a conventional respawn. A long time ago a game mode called Dropship Mutator was talked about. You bring 4 mechs to the fight and you pick which mech to play when the previous one dies.

Well that'd definitely good that they are looking into it. I hope they implement that dropship mode and other respawn modes. It would seriously make the game more enjoyable for me, and it sounds like quite a few others.

I'm up for respawn mode.
You see, many games that don't have respawns, end up being a killfest (MWO anyone?). If you can win by just wiping out the other team, why bother with objectives? It's a lot more fun to shoot stompy robots.
Of course, this is a slower paced game, so it couldn't be insta-respawn. That dropship idea is interesting...

Oh hells yeah , Call it the MULTI MECH MODE , the more bays u got filled , the more mechs u can throw into a match and pit the rich against the rich in a account based skirmish or conquer . so money spent faces off with money spent = WIN ! ( cbillz earned judged by damage done/taken/returned on # mechs )
SO FREAKIN WIN ! plz plz plz !

Traditional respawn I would not like in MWO.
Like sandpit I would not be against the dropship mode they had planned. (and it is coming for attack / defend game mode AFAIK)
Any type of instant respawn where you die and then instantly come back in the same mech you just had, having unlimited lives should never be in MWO. (ok well private matches it wouldnt bother me if you could have an option for unlimited, as could be useful for some movie making or just fun for some people)
Link it to some type of reinforcements counter or something (which are limited by mech type / class and amounts remaining) or limit it by dropship modes 4 mechs (although I think they said you will be able to "buy with cbills or mc" more dropship bays to have more of a selection...however still limited to 4 selected for a match I think.) and it should be a decent gamemode.
Which is pretty much what they are doing so......case closed I think.

Good, so the majority of us are OK with a Drop Ship mode where we take up to four Mechs in total per mission. Once or if all of our Mech's are taken out, that is it for that particular mission.
Most of us agree with Fooooo "Any type of instant respawn where you die and then instantly come back in the same mech you just had, having unlimited lives should never be in MWO."
That just leaves the process for picking up your replacement Mech's. I believe that this is where PGI need to look at Mech Assault 2 for inspiration as I outlined on page 1 "This introduces a new set of problems which are easily overcome if (and I'm with you on this one Imperius) you add the key element that made Mech Assault 2 - the ability to climb in and out of your Mech, into MWO."
What would be fundamentally wrong is if the Pilot was to suddenly re-appear at the Drop-Ship with no process for getting him or her there. I would even go along with the Pilot being taken back in another Mech, as long as we can see them being picked up after Ejection.
