Observations On The New Ac Nerf

The AC/10 has basically been reduced to a short range weapon because it's not as reliable at mid to long range anymore. Might as well use the AC/20 now in its place. It's still good, and I can get good results with it, but I now get better results with an AC/20.
So, essentially all this nerf did was make the AC/20 more effective...ironically enough.
Thoughts?

it makes both weapons more brawler oriented. as upposed to the jump sniping meta.

Nah...now you just gotta find the right hill, wait for seismic to glow and THEN poptart at something nearby
another reason why the jump jet poptarting system needs a change. *see other threads*

I think.
Actually, I wish they'd just leave them alone and focus on making lasers better.

Well 12 tons versus 16, or are you only taking a 5 pointer where a 10 pointer used to be? 4 tons extra weight for the same damage profile, does not seem like a very good trade.

Actually there was never really a reason to use the AC/10. The AC/20s range is so good that it still does 10 damage at 540m whlie the AC/10 starts doing less than 10 damage.

It had a faster projectile speed that was better at mid-range skirmishing and popping off snap shots at fast moving targets. Now the slower projectile speed on the AC/10 makes using the AC/20 an easier choice — if you're gonna have a slow projectile speed, you might as well do more damage.
The strength of the AC/10, aside from its higher cyclic rate, was its speed. Without that, it's made the choice between it and an AC/20 a little easier.

think past the alpha. 10 was king on cycle time

PPC = 1500 m/s

AC10 = wut?
Please bow to your new HGN overlords. Oh wait, they are the same as before, just less variety in autocannon flavor.

As for the AC/20, it could move with the speed of a hadouken and not lose any of its effectiveness at what it's supposed to do.
