Say, for example, if M-Theory is true and one were to traverse to the next higher dimension and pick up a dictionary there. In int our paradigms would be crushed when we realize that in our simple planar existence bound by 3 euclids + 1 time, the dictionaries we held were incomplete. Inconsistencies such as "working" and "broken" would ultimately be clarified.
That is... if M-Theory is true. I might be. Who knows, right?
Stop blowing my mind... this game is failing to do that.

TBH, that conversation was coming whether you wanted it or not.
Patch days are great for discussing stuff that is to be adjusted, just as much as days they are declaring changes for certain weapons/mechs/etc.
So, expect MORE of it until the next patch.

Just wait the next build you find that you like, they will nerf due to complaints by players who are on the receiving end of it.

The ACs firing slower makes your build useless?

-At close rang nothing changed its still easy as hell to hit light, and targeting different part.
-At medium range 300~500m things are trickier but against heavy/assault you can still target different part.
So the sky isnt falling its still a damn good weapon.

I was generalizing but you clearly want something to pick apart so by all means enjoy. Also it depends what I was using the AC20 for eg Long or short range.

The AC10 change is for the same reason, adding a little bit more difficulty to gun, no more, no less.

It doesn't matter what you want if you're not in one of the "top" groups pulling PGI's strings about how things should be developed (specifically to suit themselves). It doesn't matter what it should be like at all, the universe is being reinvented and the Clans are going to be just another set of "Houses" now. Never mind they had 300 years to continue developing the weapons and systems we've been using in game so far and the houses lost all the LBX, Ultra, ECM, etcetera equipment 250 years ago and just refound it.

650 meters a second id 1454.01 miles an hour. I wouldn't call that slow but it isn't super fast, either. 5.56 mm ammo @ 55 grains goes 3240 feet per second, or 2209 miles an hour.
Now, for MWO... Say the AC/20 shell is similar to a 125 mm smoothbore shell... then it'd weigh at least 7 kg ... but probably more. If it is travelling at 650 m/s then...
F = M * A
or
7 * 650 = 4550 Newtons or Joules...
to put that in perspective, your average AK-47 puts out 2179 Joules of energy from the muzzle into the round.
Sooooo our badass AC/20 is slightly more than twice as powerful.
Yeah.

Yeah.
Are you saying that Paul is making this game into Counterstrike? He was some sort of champion IIRC.

as opposed to putting your ideas into a central location? without derailing the topic, trolling, putting on tinfoil hats, etc.
Like I dunno....

The irony, though, is that we came back full circle on the PPC and ER PPC in regards to heat and cool down (they changed velocity from the old 900 back in Beta).

Giving lasers their accuracy advantage back? WTF? AC are an all or nothing weapon. If you hit you do damage*, if you miss you wasted a shot. For the AC20, and guass that is significant. lasers on the other hand have a beam duration. If you miss the shot you drag the beam until you hit, then hold it there. This insures that at least some damage is done.
* note that hit detection issues can still cause the AC to "miss". There are also issues of convergence at close range. If your cross hairs are near a hit box's edge, whether a building or a mech, there is a tendency for the weapon to fire at an odd angle. This happens with buildings more often, however it has happened with mechs.
When PGI increased the projectile speed of the AC20 it brought the weapon into it's own. I constantly had mechs cross into the shells flight path, turn and exit the path before the shell even arrived at the target. Keep in mind, I'm not talking about targets at 400m, this happened at 200-250. I had a jenner cross the flight path twice. This is what I am afraid will start happening again.
Regardless of how you feel, the weapons are as thus: ballistics are front-loaded-damage with a higher chance to miss due to projectile travel times and lasers are damage-over-time with nearly guaranteed hits due to zero travel time. Slowing ballistics projectile speeds is a valid way to bring the, currently "better ", ballistic class back inline with lasers.
