This. Dying to LRMs when nobody's flushing you out of cover is a derp check.

I was piloting a Thunderbolt yesterday. No AMS, No ECM. The opposing team had plenty of missiles, the entire side I was on ran right out after two scouts and was obliterated- and none of them apparently had AMS or ECM save one (guess who got shot first?).

They had to kill me by sending two scouts in after me because I knew what cover was and made a lance of LRM carriers waste 3-4 salvos each by ducking out just long enough to get a "MISSILE" warning, then simply stepping behind a hill. The two scouts knew what they were doing and shot a leg out, meaning I finally couldn't both dodge the missiles and the scouts, put my back to a wall, and died gracefully to the Cicada and Locust (legged one of the buggers before I went down, but got an ammo crit to the leg and kablooey).

Should I be embarassed to say I've killed people with LRM fire from a Commando?

Be careful, Joe. I've killed 94 unsuspecting people with my LRMando. Granted, I've been killed 108 time by those same people and their friends. But, I have taken more than a few with me. Dual LRM5s and an ER Lrg.

I could post a few graphs, complex mathematical equations, start a poll, and start 30 threads contradicting that but instead I'll jsut say you're not competitive enough as a chicken to worry about :P

Fine! Then, let's talk about how Autocannons need to be nerfed. First off, extreme range is all manners of wonky AND they need to be burst fire.

Disagree with burst fire, agree a little with range, though im thinking the reason alot of the ranges are the way they are is because of balistic drop off and how that functions... An easier thing to do might be to increase the range of some of the higher end laser weapons like the large, erlarge and pulse. And perhaps decrease the max range of the ac2. Wouldnt need much but a touch of the top could be good. ac5 might need some as well.

No burts fire, reduce range, add in divergence when firing multiple ballistics at the same time instead of chain firing them.

It does make one play change. I'm one of those AC/20 toting blackjack pilots. The speed of that mech allowed me to get close enough to a light to actually make the AC/20 into a consistently viable weapon against them. As often as not a leg could be ripped off with a single good shot while at full throttle. That became a lot tougher to do if there is any deflection.
