I am also looking for this newbie guide!
If anyone here has a copy of it, would you be so kind as to share that with Raketefrau and I??
Thanks
AM

I've not been playing much recently though. The big takeaway I feel from those threads is more tactics rather'n build considerations.

I know it's not as comprehensive, but hopefully it'll help.

Be aware that the guide was written for the state of MWO in 2015. There have been changes in balance, techbase and mechanics that are not accounted for in there.
- The entire skill system and module system were replaced by the new Skill Tree in 2017.
- We had engine desync (where the agility profile of a chassis is decoupled from its' engine size)
- A bunch of chassis were introduced between 2015 and 2019
- The heat capacity and dissipation values were changed
- A bunch of weapons had been subject to years of minor tweaks and rebalances
- Lock-on weapons were changed in... was it 2018 or 2019? Anyway, lots of differences there
- As a result, the recommended builds and drop decks are... not so recommended any more.
